November 2013 - Car Rental Rates/Codes

How were you able to use 3? The discover site says one per rental????

When I called she said, "do you have any other codes," I questioned her as to how many I can use, and she said 3, while I had her on the phone I went to the Discover website and pulled 2 more. The email confirmation has the $120+ insider discount.

I used code AD2338FDF. When I booked logged in as a insider

I am getting the same message. I am not happy. what does this mean? I have my confirmation... is that not good anymore? I canceled a bunch of other reservations... This is just really irritating...

I would hope they honnor the confirm we printed. Someone said on another Thread:

"If you printed this out back in August then the rate will be honored. You can also call Alamo and double check. Their site is a disaster and I would not really rely on anything it said. Print the email, call Alamo and see what they say. Sometimes you cannot check in online with a coupon. You can, however use the kiosk when you get there. "

Same here! I loved Alamo for my last trip (November 2011), but their ongoing website issues are crazy and I finally lost my patience and cancelled my reservation. Of course, I had to call to cancel...the website gave me an error message and the "contact us" link wasn't working either. Imagine that!

I am VERY happy with the Budget deal I just got through Carrentalsavers.com...and now I don't have to worry about silly codes and coupons!

When you called Alamo to cancel did they tell you they would not honnor the revervation # you had already booked? (Thanks):goodvibes

To tell you the truth, I didn't even ask. I had already found a similar deal at the time through Budget (not the one I just booked), so I just wanted to cancel the reservation. When I asked if I could get a confirmation of the cancellation via email, I was told they do not do that. I was worried, so I waited a day and called back just to make sure the cancellation went through...it did.

I just called Alamo, and they confirmed the reservation and the rate. I told them what the website was saying, but the lady said everything would be fine. Just in case, I made an additional reservation at Budget. I hate Budget, but I want to have a back-up.

Nice :) I will call also and let you knwo if they say somethign diff. I also did the same thing and book budget just incase. (If i had to go budget it would be $40 more)

The best I can do is with Dollar. Pick up 11/8 evening at MCO, dropoff at Cape Canaveral on 11/14 morning. Total $179.18. That is about $30 a day. I am more used to $20 per day, but I guess those days are long gone.
 
Just booked a full-sized car (Impala or similar) with Budget (through Carrentalsavers.com) for November 18 - November 25 for $138.50 total using the "up to 35% off" BCD and $30 off coupon. Pretty pleased with this rate! It beats my Alamo "SUNPROMO" deal by about $40. :thumbsup2

Now I hope Budget didn't charge my Visa when I cancelled my previous reservation ($209) with them using the Visa discount code. Has anyone been charged after entering their Visa info for the Visa promo?

Just got a rate of $109 before taxes and fees ($174 after) for a midsize SUV using budget out of TPA for a 7 day rental, 11/2-11/9 and the coupon code MUWZ059 ($30 off a weekly rental). Economy and Compact are $89 a week and midsize is $99. Last year for a week in October I paid $249, so I am way happy with $174!

I ended up e mailing ALAMO yesterday when we were chatting on here. They said it woudl be 1-2 business days for a reply. So i decided i woudl wait before calling (Trust me hard thing to do) But last night after dinner i got a reply from them. They confirmed my reservation is still good and that i am still locked in for my dates and price!!!!!:cool1::goodvibes:cool1::goodvibes:cool1::goodvibes.

So don't know if you want to do that too but i feel even better having the e mail confirm to print off and bring with just incase we run into any problems when checking in to pick up the car. :thumbsup2

I just called Alamo to confirm my reservation after seeing the issues everyone else was having. I did get the error when I tried to bring my confirmation up. The operator (Tina) pulled up my reservation and said everything was fine so I am good to go. I will have my print out with me in case but it still existed and I haven't been able to find a better deal since I booked this one in August for a minivan for 13 nights for $480
