Aren't we around the date The AP discounts were announced last year? Mousesavers says 8/3. I hope it's soon!

November is already out for the DL hotels too... I really wanted December to be out though! :lmao:

:sad:My books for just my first sememster of law school are going to cost about a grand.

Looks like I'm going to have to go in November on a very tight budget.

Do you have an option of buying used books? That saved me so much money when buying my books and after graduating I sold most of them back either to amazon or textbooks.com.
But none of my semesters cost that much for books. Good Luck!

I make a piece of paper for my niece and nephew's favorite character to hold. Then we I get home I print the picture and put it in a frame I got at WDW. They love them. My nephews favorite is the one where Mickey is holding a sign telling him congrats on making all stars. He thought is was so cool that Mickey knew he made it.

That's a great idea!

I don't really care for a lot of highlighting and writing in my books. Half.com and places like that are MORE expensive than the bookstore. I have to have my books by the 20 and I don't receive my financial aid until the 17th. I am kind if stuck. All well. No use freaking out about it. Just disappointed my budget was way off.

Does anyone know what Disney 'usually' does when a new attraction opens? Mainly, will the new Little Mermaid ride be open for EMH as soon as it is open?

While we're all waiting for November to come along, would you mind if I asked a question that is totally:offtopic:

DH and I just eliminated cable from our home. We have a tv that has internet connection and we have Netflix. We got an HD antenna that gives us the regular channels in HD. We can watch most shows on our laptop (hooked to the tv). BUT I was thinking of getting Direct TV.:scratchin My question is, do any of you have DTV and if so, how do you like it?

The thing is, I miss having the Disney channel and all the movie channels and the food channel. Not so much now, but during the winter months I watch a lot more tv.:happytv: And I LOVE the Christmas movies when they're on. I thought i could do without, but now I'm second guessing. We can't stand our cable provider, so we won't go back there. Hoping someone can clue me in here. TIA:flower3:

We have DTV and love it. I love having a DVR because I don't get time to sit and watch usually and when I do I can fastforward thru the commercials.

No Be Our Guest til the 6th..... Oh well just more reason to go back I guess

But they said previews will start November 19. I think we'll get to be part of that after the AP holders. Soft openings happen all the time. We don't have to be there for the Grand Opening necessarily. At least, that's what I'm hoping for everyone. I will be there on the 6th. That's our last day, but we have a lot of time before our ME bus. If we get to preview it earlier in the month, I won't be anywhere near that place on Grand Opening day. If not....I guess I'll buck the crowds and go. Have to check it out, right?

That's another thing I miss. I can't tell you how hard it is to lose the ability to fast forward through commercials! And DH can watch a football game in an hour by fast forwarding through time outs, huddles and commercials. ;) If I can talk DH into it, I think we'll get it. He calls me his princess:, so if I really want it he'll get it for me. Just have to decide for sure. Thanks for the input!:goodvibes

that part has been open for a few months... hoping the journey of the little mermaid is open:/

The article stated they (barnstormer and dumbo)opened in July. So it will be open earlier I would think for soft opening.

You'll be surprised...some of the used books are in excellent condition, no highlighting whatsoever. I would also check amazon for used books and with your student account you could get free 2 day shipping.

Oh, man... I really wanted to be able to see some of the new FLE while we are there. Keeping my fingers crossed we get lucky and stumble across soft openings...

For those of you going later in the month you could be part of the previews as the email stated that previews begin Nov 19. Of course, we will miss it but that's just one more thing to look forward to next year.

when you say previews,do they mean you can test them out or just see them? Thanks

We think that only Annual Passholders will get to preview them for a few days or at a specific time...preview means test them out

Haha, I rushed over to this thread to say the exact same thing. Well, I'll just cry with you for a little bit

It seems we really picked a bad time to go back to Disney :upsidedow First construction on the GF including the CS and now no FLE or Beauty and the Beast :headache: At least F&W hasn't been cancelled :rotfl2:
