Im still hopeful :)

I'm hopeful also! Dumbo and Barnstormer have been open for awhile now, but in the link they are quoted as having been opened in July! Now we wait for BOG ressies opening!

I guess we will just have to see when we get there what we can see and what we cannt regarding the expansion Our last MK day is nov 16 so we could see some off the new area you never know

No Be Our Guest til the 6th..... Oh well just more reason to go back I guess

Was there something specific in there that makes you think BOG won't be open until the 6th? I've read it a few times and can only see that will be the Grand Opening date with previews (soft openings?!) prior...I was thinking BOG would also need to be soft opened to be smoothly running by the grand opening date, not just the attractions. Did you read more specifically otherwise?

I think I'm going to find some positives in this day of mostly sad and/or frustrating news on the FL expansion.

1. All of WDW will be new to us and there's excitement right there.
2. Maybe this will make the beginning of Nov even less crowded since there will be people who will postpone because of this.
3. There's is always next year, when the FL expansion will be a bit less crowded and running smoothly.
4. There's always hope for some sort of soft opening and pixie dust can occur at anytime!pixiedust:

Try to have a good night everyone!!:goodvibes

I read this to say,
On December 6th, Disney will have it's "Grand Opening" but it will be open to everyone November 19th and BOG will be serving starting November 20th. So I think those looking for ADR's for Nov. 20 and later should pay close attention around the 19th or 20th of August (90 days).

From post 7 on the blog:
"Amanda on August 7th, 2012 at 6:12 pm
How exciting! We will be there December 9th! Do you know when we will be able to make dining reservations at Be Our Guest?

Jennifer Fickley-Baker on August 7th, 2012 at 8:14 pm
We’ll begin accepting reservations for Be Our Guest in late August for guests who wish to dine after Nov. 19. Stay tuned for more details!

Finally the bug has left our house! DH even came home early from work sick today.

Not too happy to hear the FLE dates. Of course our last day is Nov 18.

when you say previews,do they mean you can test them out or just see them? Thanks

We think that only Annual Passholders will get to preview them for a few days or at a specific time...preview means test them out

Yes, preview means test them but in the email I received it does not specify that the previews are exclusive to AP holders so there's still hope.

I don't want to read too much into this but I think those wishing to dine at BOG after Nov19 will be able to book an ADR which could mean anyone before that might still be able to dine there during a soft opening with no ADR'S. Maybe that's just my wishful thinking. I don't know.

this is a really great thought process I need to share this with my husband. When I told him they announced the grant opening as Dec 6 his responce :furious::furious: he says "Why the beep beep beep are we going" I did not see that coming. So I said we dont have to go. He didnt respond. So lets see what he says today he left for work at 5:00am and wont be home till 7:00pm I hope he has claimed down There are some fd dates in Dec but with this announcement Im sure that wont last long

I think they will begin soft openings in early November for walk up guests. But I am sure none of the folks going earlier in November will try to check it out. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Copied this from another board:

Jennifer from the Disney Parks blog seems to have clarified this in the replies today:

"The preview period allows guests a chance to experience the new area/attractions prior to the grand opening. During a preview period, attractions and experiences may have limited operating hours."

No mention of passholder/CM previews in her reply. Sounds like the previews she's referring to will be open to any guest.

I hope that is the case, I'll be happy with that!

The preview period gives regular park guests a chance to experience the new area and its attractions prior to the grand opening in December. During a preview period, attractions and experiences may experience limited operating hours.

We’ll begin accepting reservations for Be Our Guest in late August for guests who wish to dine after Nov. 19

I take that to mean that the AP preview will be before Nov 19 & that the regular park guess preview period starts Nov 20! Sounds good to me!:cool1::woohoo::yay::dance3:

What are the chances that the walls around the areas will be taken down/reduced so people who are there say in earlier November can at least see the buildings, take pictures, etc
