I'm having fits over when to do MVMCP. We will be there for 12 nights with 10 day base tickets, so we won't be able to do a park the morning of MVMCP. Here are my lists of pros and cons for each of the two dates I've been debating:
Nov. 15 Pros:
  • It will be our first full day at WDW, so the kids will be able to get the whole "explore the resort/swim at the pool" thing out of their systems early.
  • It will be less crowded at MVMCP than the other date we're debating.
Nov. 15 Cons:
  • We won't be able to go into a park until 4pm on our first full day at WDW.
  • We will miss out on a less crowded MK day.
Nov. 25 Pros:
  • DH has a conference in the morning that day, so he will only miss "resort time" if we attend MVMCP on this day.
  • We will not have to fight the MK crowds on this day, only the party crowds.
Nov. 25 Cons:
  • It will be more crowded at MVMCP than on the 15th.
  • We have CRT ressies for 6:55 pm, so if we didn't do the party, this would be a perfect ressie. If we did the party, I would try to change them to 11/15, but all I can get so far is lunch on 11/15, not the perfect 6:55pm time.

Aaahhhh! I don't know what to do. Any thoughts or advice??! --Katie

We are actually doing on the 16th of November....bought our tickets already. I know it cost a bit more but it was the only day we could really do it logistically. Would any other days work for you?? Just wondering hmmmm

All changed, with the FD included.

we are at POP 11/7-11/9 and POR 11/9-11/13.

We'll be at POR at the same time. We start there 11/9-11/12 before moving to AOA.

We wound up getting free dining for the 9 - 20 of our trip. Still staying at POFQ, had to upgrade to a king bed room but that is ok with us since we were in a garden view the cost was not too bad. We are doing room only the 6 - 9 but that will give us the chance to go off and do other things for those two days. We already had planned on two non park days for the trip but instead of being in the middle they will now be at the beginning.

Total savings for the two of us was $904.14. Really happy with that. :thumbsup2 :dance3:

Trying to avoid the 16th b/c 1) It costs more and 2) We have a F! package booked that night. Changing that would set off a whole slew of ADR changes that make my head hurt just thinking about!! It's a bummer they don't offer the party more during Thanksgiving week.--Katie

It looks like I need some advice....
My sister who lives overseas told me today that she might be coming to visit us in November and wants to join us on our trip to DW. The main reason of her visit is to spend time with my kids as we were all supposed to travel overseas in the summer to visit but now I'm going alone.

Anyways, my issue is that I have already finalized all our ADR'S (there's not that many as it's only a 5 day trip) but if she decides to join us, I will need to change everything to 5 guests instead of 4.
Will it be difficult to change the number of guests? Will I have to rebook everything for 5 people? I've already checked, and for some of the ADR'S I don't see a problem making a new reservation, for others I will have to switch around some dates if I can't just add another person but for CRT, everything is booked. What are my options?

I think the 15th sounds like a winner. You don't want to mess with changing your CRT ressie! And the difference in crowd level between the two dates is a pretty big con for the the 25th. Just my take on it.:goodvibes

I think changing adr's is a sickness! :scared:

You are not kidding!!! Im having a bear of a time. We have 8 TS meals. Ive booked Spirt of Aloha and CRT so there goes 4. I have a Chef Mickey's breakfast. Our Epcot day is F&W so we are going to enjoy using our snack credits up on this day.

We are staying at AoA so that means only QS at the resort. So Im thinking lunch ADRs only. We will end up back at the resort in the afternoon for rest and if we end up not leaving we can at least have dinner.

Hey, did FD come out today?????

Kidding heheeh....I'm a little late to the party but we also got FD. Had to upgrade as well from a garden view room to a water view at POR. I can live with that.

I was however, playing around on the site to see if upgrading was really necessary, and I accidentally put our departure date as Dec 7th instead of the 2nd...garden view rooms WERE available with FD. So then, I fixed the departure date (keep in mind that the arrival date was the same each time) and there were no garden view rooms with FD available. Maybe I am missing something, but I find that very interesting.

Oh well, I am just happy to finally have FD, all my ADR's set and now I can have a bit of a Disney planning break for now (I know, unheard of!).

Congrats to others who have gotten FD today, and good luck to others who are still trying!

I agree it really is torture, but if this is all life has to torture us with bring it on. :)

If it were me I would go on the first day just because what else are you going to do that day. You already have 2 free days because you only have 10 day tickets. This way you can get some park time in and some rest/recharge before you start your full on touring schedule.

I just called Disney again, and the Cm said that you can no longer get your park tickets early. They are now dated with your package and can not be use prior to you check in day.

I am not a happy camper atm.:furious:

Do we have any way of figuring this out for sure? How can some people be told yes and some no?!?! Ugh!

Try calling Guest Relations at Downtown Disney. I know some folks did that prior to their trips last year and got someone's name who promised they would do this for them. I didn't and I don't have th number. But maybe someone else does. Not sure if you'll ge that assurance this far out though.

Thank goodness for this discussion - we got FD added to our package today and saved another $200 off the total.

YAY!!!:yay::yay::yay:

ok I just read through ALL 9 PAGES!!! :faint: I have everyones name and will update the fron in a little while... phew! LOL
