NOVEMBER 2012 Trip Planners Thread~ Everybody is Welcome~Part 3 already!

I didn't mean anything by that, just thinking that their might have been a language gap. But a generation gap can be just as bad!

Are you missing anything now, or are some of the times just messed up?

I know u didnt mean anything by it and thats not what I meant by the 'oh no she spoke english' I just was thinking that that sounded a little snotty and Im not saying anything about older ppl, some of my fav ppl are older.... its just I should have known better

Oh no, I'm so sorry! I would be LIVID and of course they always say there is nothing they can do... I wish there WAS - but no, that would make too much sense to build in a way for them to fix their mistakes! I admit I am way too scared to call reservations for this reason!

I was FUMING! I have NEVER had such lousey service from calling disney (except when I was bugging CM's about FDing ) BUT I am so scared something else is going to happen so I am checking mine everyday and leaving them ALONE!

We sat down and figured out what we thought our meals while down there would be, and it was... eye opening. In the end we decided to cancel le cellier, 'Ohana and V&As - the three that I got up at 3am and had a nightmare with until I was able to call in at 4. I was so happy that I'd gotten everything I wanted, now it just feels so deflating..!

We WILL be back some day, so we'll have to do V&As then, le cellier took the mussels we loved off the lunch menu and 'Ohana's is just so spendy for two adults that don't really eat that much so they make sense... I have to admit that I am a little bitter that we are keeping the ones my husband was excited for though. I'm sure I will feel better soon..! We are still going after all!

Did you check Southwest this week? It seems that their fares dropped significantly. I booked our flights earlier this week. Our departure flight had been $263 for the one way and it went down to $105. We got a late evening flight but that's what we wanted as our departure day is only for travel. Our return flight had been $158 and even went up to $184 one time and I was able to get it for $98. Of course I used our SW points which were enough to cover all 4 R/T tickets and still have some extra points.

Yeah I did, and you are right they have dropped alot. Unfortunately I dont get my next check till the 20th So it looks like I will have to wait on that for now. Hope its not too bad when I actually have the money to book them.

That's what I hope to do: visit a different resort each trip. So far I have: ASsports 2008, CBR2011, AoA 2012...I'm hoping to try one of the other mods next year but that will depend on what DB and DSIL would like to do as well as they will likely be joining us on their first trip together to Disney and they know nothing about planning.

See? I'm already envious of your Disney history!!

It's funny, I'm never really afraid of offending anyone in my real life because everyone knows me but when I type I get all sorts of nervous that I'm coming across the wrong way...

Haha, yes, well, the added benefit is he is still super excited and that is always great! I was the one who asked to go to WDW AGAIN even though we were just there in March 2011... I didn't want to dampen his feelings about the trip, and after seeing how crushed he was when we thought Hoop de Doo was going to be closed, well... The others are new to both of us so while I'm not excited maybe I will be surprised!

A little of both... We booked through a TA for the cruise since they offer onboard credit but booked the rest on our own. My TA _IS_ super nice though - she has been patiently putting all my GC #s onto my account for me even though I had THIRTY ONE last time and more on the way for her! I feel so bad but she insists on doing it for us and says it is no big deal..!

We will have to do laundry as well, no clue when we will do it though, at AKL or on the ship. We just can't possibly pack two weeks worth of clothing from Portland, OR - the amount would be insane, especially since we bring our own snorkel gear and have to bring fancy clothes for V&A and the ship as well!

I hope sometime in the not to far off future we can do this.

It entirely depends on you... for me wearing flip flops all day would be torture - I need the added support of sneakers but I hardly ever wear open toed shoes so I never feel like my feet are unduly sweaty. My coworker even commented on the fact that I DID wear them today... On the other hand my feet hurt even now and I've only been wearing my flip flops for four hours! They are the high rated Reef ones too.

I wish I could wear sneakers but I can't. They cause the tops of my feet to cramp. And the brand doesn't seem to matter. During the trip I will switch off between several pairs of shoes. I actually do the best in a really good pair of ballet flats with a good insert in them. Weird I know.

So let me tell you what just happened.... FOr some reason my online ADR's said I had conflicting ressies....I didnt though. I couldnt get sci fi for 11 so I did 6 and 5 well one was in mine and another in moms but my phone number.... yea it was conflicting so I called dining to change it... well we started going over my other adrs to see if there was any other conflicts. The lady kept saying just answer my question ma'am then Id say no its ok I dont want all the ressies under my name.... she said just say yes or no ma'am... she asked about Coral reef. then started changing it to my number then said 'uh oh what did I do'... I said novermind and hung up...checked my adr's and she cancelled Coral reef!!!! She cancelled Sci-Fi! I have been typing like a bat out of u know where to make sure she didnt cancel any others I am soooooo mad right now! I FINALLY just now got most of my adrs back at diff times though all my hard work!!!!!! I am sooooo mad right now but now 2 hours later I FINALLY got things ok again I dont know what to think right now

I can't believe this happened. Thank goodness you got everything back. I hope the new times work for ya'll.

I bring 2 or 3 pairs of sneakers. I don't wear the same pair two days in a row...if I do, my feet hurt. Not sure if it's all in my head...lol. I will also bring my croc flip flops in case we do a water ride...or it rains...or if my feet get too hot.

I think multiply pairs of shoes is a very smart thing. Between DH and I we have a suitcase full of shoes.

You figured out the secret!!! Wear them down til they just say "whatever you want!"

has anyone ever driven to disney? if so from where?

Go to google maps or map quest, enter your location and destination, and see what you come up with. What are your dates? If they are around Thanksgiving week, you may want to decide where you are going to stop and make hotel reservation. Otherwise, map out your route, drive til you get tired and find a hotel.

I would stay at POR! I love that resort! So peaceful and pretty walkways! I think for our BIG 2017 blowout with all the major birthdays(yes I will plan trips in between then but that is our GOLDEN year for everyone(DD#1 18yo, DD#2 13yo and DD#3 will be 10 and me:35 ) ) I think we are going to do a split stay between POLY and POR (because we are a family of 5) unless my parents come with us again then itll be AKL or POLY

2017!!! I can only imagine the planning that will go into THAT trip!!

Yup, these are them!!! I have them in all 4 colors. They run true to size but they do need to be worn a bit for them to loosen up to perfection!

I called my sister the other night to tell her that I ordered them off the website in all the colors and 2 pairs each (we don't want them too worn out by the time Nov rolls around, I am hard on shoes!) And she said, "Let me guess, they're flat and they have rounded toes." Okay, so I know what I like...
