Have you eaten at Yak and Yeti before? If so, please tell me about it. :)

We ate there last year. It was a last-minute ADR change, literally as we walked across the park from the Nemo show. It wasn't even in their computer yet. But they seated us after three minutes' wait. Our server was great, and the chef even did a special request entree for my son, who wasn't wild about the choices on the kids' menu but had to pick from there under the DDP. (They tempura-fried some fish, because he was in the mood for fish sticks, and they gave him a huge portion, too!) My food was wonderful, and I had a great time talking to the server, who wanted to know about my jailbroken iPhone. LOL This was one of our favorite meals, especially at a 1 TS credit restaurant, and we're doing our AK day lunch there again this time.

has anyone ever driven to disney? if so from where?

we are coming from oston,ma and im trying to find a hotel

if we leave at 4 am how far could we get by 10ish

Hey!!! Just excited because I realized that I'm under the 4 month mark, just 122 days to go!!! Gotta get started on my countdown chain!!!:cool1:

Question of the day: Pre-planning a trip back to WDW next year (Dec) just me and my then 5 year old DD. Most likely won't be able to swing a Deluxe (staying Poly this time) for that one. Which one is everyone's favorite Moderate? Or is there a value you love just as much? Should I attempt the much loved split stay, to get a couple nights in at the Contemporary?

So that was 3 questions, I tend to get a little carried away!:rotfl:

Can anyone remember how much laundry is at the resorts? I'm sure all resorts are the same, from what I can remember it's $2 per wash and $2 a dry, is that correct? :laundy:

Gotta start saving my American quarters!

I would stay at POR! I love that resort! So peaceful and pretty walkways! I think for our BIG 2017 blowout with all the major birthdays(yes I will plan trips in between then but that is our GOLDEN year for everyone(DD#1 18yo, DD#2 13yo and DD#3 will be 10 and me:35 :faint: ) ) I think we are going to do a split stay between POLY and POR (because we are a family of 5) unless my parents come with us again then itll be AKL or POLY:dance3:

We have driven to Disneyland a bunch when I was a kid and I will be making the drive for the first time myself this winter... it'll take 18 hours! :scared: But the journey is part of the fun, right?! :upsidedow

Oh yay! 120 days till we cruise, so 113 days till we are in WDW! Time is flying, it seems like just yesterday I was at 180 days and doing my ADRs!

Yes, that is correct. You can also buy the small 1 load package of laundry detergent or 2 pack dryer sheets for $1 each but I usually take my own detergent. (Purex 3 in 1 sheets are the easiest to take with you.

I think if you go to a mapquest site or something similar you can type in your starting point and destination adn then you can see how much time in where you are on the map. I wish I could be more help!

But I can say I do like driving through the night. :cheer2:
One of our most perfect trips we left here (pa) at 2am to drive to Boothbay Harbor Maine and we were there around Noon to enjoy the day. (I don't need much sleep)

Question 1 - Our fav moderate is POFQ. It is a small more intimate resort with a great food court and a boat to downtown Disney. The pool has a neat slide your DD would enjoy if it's not too cold for swimming. :beach:

Question 2 - No value I love particularly, although the food court at POP was awesome!!::yes::

Question 3 - I've never done a split stay, but it probably wouldn't be bad with just the two of you. I do think you'd enjoy the Moderates well enough, but then that's just how I feel.;)

I think you're right about the split stay, it would most likely be easy for us but I'm more of a move in and make myself at home kinda person when I travel so I don't know that I would like to be uprooted midway.

What is the difference between POR and POFQ? Those are the 2 I was leaning towards, those and Coronado Springs... I know this is all way off topic, I can stop if you all want me to?

We have driven once from Kansas City, MO and will be driving again this trip. It's about 18 hours or so for us. The last time we left around 5pm and got to Orlando around noon the next day. We haven't decided if we're driving straight through or stopping at some point this time.

Why not stay in one of the new Art of Animation Little Mermaid rooms or Port of Orleans Royal Guest Rooms? Both would be perfect for a mommy/daughter trip. :goodvibes

I am not shocked, but I think it's funny that you are!!:lmao:

Good job!!!:thumbsup2 Now do you have to move more stuff around?

Yes, I'll be moving somethings around. :rotfl:But this just makes things more laid back. :thumbsup2

I'm really going to have to look into eating here. Seems like the Yak and Yeti gets over looked. :confused3

We always drive. We are just outside of Charleston SC so it only takes us about 7 hours.

I agree, we love Yak & Yeti, the service has been wonderful every time we have gone and the food...FANTASTIC! We haven't tried the CS there only the TS, but love it...we have a lunch ADR this trip too!

This just makes me want to eat there more. :rotfl:

I would love to do a cruise and park time. Did you have a TA book this, or did you handle things yourself?

Yes, that is correct. You can also buy the small 1 load package of laundry detergent or 2 pack dryer sheets for $1 each but I usually take my own detergent. (Purex 3 in 1 sheets are the easiest to take with you.

I have a feeling that I will be doing laundry for the first time in Disney on this trip. :guilty:

I have never stayed at either. (Came really close to staying at POFQ this trip) But I have looked at loads of pictures and they are both beautiful. POFQ is smaller and more compact. But you are only about a ten minute walk (along a lake) from POR.:goodvibes

We haven't, this will be our first time. The menu looks really good and there's even a burger for my picky kid ;)

I second this - Yak and yeti is one of our must dos every time! We really, really like the food. Way better than Tusker or Rainforest Cafe :thumbsup2

Several pages back when we were discussing flip flops for the park. Wasn't it the Niki Celos that some of ya'll liked so much? While I was in town this morning I went to Shoe Carnival and tried on several pairs of flip flops trying to find something for the trip. I put the Celos on and couldn't believe how comfortable they are. (I love that they aren't over sized and fit your foot.) The sales woman asked if I needed any help and I just asked if they were good for all day walking. Well.....She turned into a comercial for them. :rotfl: She just kept going on and on about how great they are. Especially for walking all day. So of course I came home with a pair. Now I'm all set on shoes for any warm days that we may have. :goodvibes
