i need some magical assistance asap!!!

my dd has written a letter to mickey at wdw and is awaiting a reply!!!! eek she is 9 and very hard to fool. Any ideas???

Good morning everyone! Hope you all are keeping cool. :cool2:

Our son called last night and a tornado touched down in their neighborhood.:scared1: His neighbor called and said he better get home, which made him think the worst. They just built a new home about a year ago and are surrounded by woods. Fortunately, the gigantic trees that fell both front and back missed his house! They are without power, but counting their blessings.::yes::

Has anyone ever used the Disney Dream Makers to decorate their room? I'm thinking of ordering some balloons and maybe a plush Minnie for each of the girls. I'm just curious if anyone has done it before?

Ideally, I want to get into our room before we head to Hollywood Studios, but check-in isn't until 3p and we should arrive there around 11a. I have it in my head that it won't be as exciting if they don't see the room first, then head to the park (we have a Nemo suite at AoA and I know they are going to FLIP out when they see it!) Additionally, I wanted to have autpgraph books delivered to the room (they have a package called "A Royal Welcome" which includes a princess autograph book, princess pen and light up tiara).

I'm getting a little crazy, right?

I know we'll go back to WDW in a few years, but I feel like I need to make it *extra* magical for my 6 & 3 year old girls because they still believe in the magic. When we go back I think they'll still love it, but it won't be as exciting. Maybe I'm putting too much pressure on myself...

I don't think you are getting crazy at all. You are a mom that wants things to be awesome for her family. Just like everyone else on this thread. So whatever we are.......we are together. :grouphug: :goodvibes

Well, I can't believe what I just did. I added another night to our reservation. :lmao: But what really shocked me is that hubby was so in agreement with it.

We are now going to breakfast and then heading back in to AK for some of the shows (ITTBAB) and some of the other things we missed the first day then RFC for lunch then head to DTD/DQ!

Smileybug-thats great! wish I was but we arent...just another reason to do ANOTHER trip!

MomTo3PrincessesInNJ- I understand the need to make it special:) Have you ever thought of making the autograph books from artscow and buying the plush toys, shipping them to the resort before you get there? then you could say something like 'Look what Mickey left for you girls?" just an idea..... I know you want it to be special

Im going to put together something for my girls as well, but I plan on setting it up myself. They are little and easily distracted. I can get DH to take them to look at just about anything while I work. We have a Lion King room so I was going to try to get them some jungle stuff, some glow in the dark stuff and Im not sure what else. We are driving so Im going to have plenty of space to stash secret gifts

WooHoo another night....:thumbsup2

Thanks ya'll. :goodvibes

What do ya'll think about late dining reservations? I guess I am concerned about the quality of the experience if it is nearing closing time. Like 9:25 on thursday night at Ohanas. :confused3

I meant to put, our 'free day' was DHS at night but we(meaning the girls and I) decided to head back in to AK for the morning and then to DTD in the afternoon/evening...but now Im second guessing that because I have this gut feeling I need to leave it how it was why mess with perfection LOL:rotfl:

Good Afternoon everyone.....my what a busy day you all have had, lol!! I have to agree as well. I would definitely go for the upgrade to POFQ- its my favorite moderate resort and I love the layout- its surroundings are just beautiful and the boat to DTD is a nice way to take a break and relax. I highly recommend it. ALso the FD is so nice to have in way of TS meals. We are upgrading to the DXDP as well so we can try some of the signature dining venues. This is a very special trip for us...we are celebrating my daughter's college graduation, my other DD sweet sixteen and next year is our 25th wedding anniversary so yeah lots to celebrate. We can't wait!! :cool1::cool1:
Congrats on so many awesome events!!! Tell, tell, and tell the CM on the phone everytime! We had our 10th anniversary, reunion & daughters 7th birthday last year and they went ALL out! Most amazing trip ever :cool1: I hope you have a magical one too! :goodvibes

I understand what you (they) are saying - but at home I'm not walking for hours on end either, so I don't need all the extra nourishment.

I'm really looking forward to having the sit down time and the varied menus that are offered at all of the ADRs we've chosen - not to mention the character interaction that comes along with most of them. I think the DxDP is more than just the amount of food - it's also the atmosphere.

I don't think I will eat an app, meal and dessert every time but I do appreciate that I have the option!

In the end you have to do what's right for you and your group, but I know we are all psyched about the DxDP!
I am a fan of the DDP... our kids like to eat out and frankly the down time is a bit of a rest given a long park touring day. We also are fans of alot of character and signature spots sooo... If we can work it into the budget this time we absolutely will!

I saw this from a teacher on Pinterest... the link does not work correctly but the info is all there. I could easily see this being accurate so it's worth a try :goodvibes If you write a letter to a character at disney (walt disney world communications p.o. box 10040 lake buena vista, fl 32830-0040), they will send you an autographed photo back! Could be a fun project for teaching how to write a letter!

We have always had a "Mickey Visits" which is ultimately things I've already picked up in prep for the trip magically appearing in the room... it takes a little advanced thought but we easily leave things like autograph books, fun snacks, sometimes costumes even along with confetti in the room. Think "Oh, i forgot something moments" where DH takes the kids ahead and I dash the room super quick and leave it out. Mouse keeping has never been an issue with these little things and honestly looking for sales and customizing for each kid is way cheaper if you personally do it than paying the rates they have. As the kids get older I may need to some though so it's not so obvious ;)

Is there something going on at Ohana the week of November 25th? I've tried to get dinner reservations all nights during that week and there is nothing available.
