You're probably right! I called and booked our package and called back the very next day to change the dates. :rotfl: In my own defense though I asked for those dates to start with but no rooms were available at the AoA. :cool1:

Also, we are planning this as a surprise trip for our kids but I want to tell them so bad it's killing me! I can see my hubby is getting weak already too...he provided wayyyy too much commentary on the Disney commercial this morning while we were watching TV with the kids!!!:happytv:

Hes gonna crack!!!!! I give him another month! :lmao: :rotfl2:
My DH cracked about a week after I booked our package. We were supposed to keep it as a surprise and let the kids know only a week before we leave. He could not keep it a secret. I don't think I would have made it very far either. Both of us don't do well keeping secrets.

I was thinking of asking her to price out CBR for me.... If it's what I'm coming up with on my own calculations, it's only $100 cheaper to stay at a mod w/ FD upgraded to DxDDP than to just stay at AoA in a LM room and pay full price for DxDDP... There are only waterview and pirate rooms at CBR, all standards are sold out for our dates. And now if I search for my dates at AoA - there are ZERO rooms (not just FD, but no LM rooms at all...) so I'm wondering if it'll be SUPER packed. Hmm... I-
Depending on who is in your party, the difference between a value + upgrade to DDP from QSDP and a mod + free DDP is very small, for us last year it was less than $100 for the entire trip. BTW, CBR is beautiful, we stayed there last year and we loved it.

Well, looks like we'll be choosing another resort.... We are upgrading to DxDDP, so we have to get FD to take care of the cost... I had another DISer price us out a package with her FD PIN she isn't using and LM rooms are booked for our dates w/ FD.... PoP is the plan unless a miracle happens and we can swing a mod.

I know, I've been trying for AoA LM room for a week now. I switched dates and lost my AoA room. But, since it's going to be so booked, it may be just as well to wait until it isn't the new kid on the block. Wall to wall people at the food court does not appeal at all!

Have you considered POFQ? It has a fun pool with a great slide that kids seem to love. Just a thought.

Ok So I made a decision today....to forgo LeCellier on our arrival day 11/14- since I know its a ressie I just won't get. We booked Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The menu looks amazing and it got terrific reviews. I think we will be very happy with our choice. Our dining time is 6pm which is great because it will give my daughter and hubby a good rest from their long drive from Pensacola. I am happy now!! :)

I'm glad you found something that works for ya'll. :goodvibes

Welcome! I'm kinda new here, too. We're planning (meaning, I'm planning :lmao:, since it's a surprise!) the second trip for myself and DS7 in 18 months (and my fifth ever) Nov. 1-10, so we'll overlap, and we're at AoA LM! Last time, we did it with 6 weeks lead time. After a crash course in WDW planning last April, this time I'm actually feeling like an old hand at things! :wizard:

thats awesome. i think its so cool that i could see people i know there. we have a LM reservation too. DD is so excited we surprised her in april for her birthday and told her we were going. she still doesnt really believe it

Let's talk MK. We are spending one day at each of the "other" parks but are planning 3 days at MK. How should I divy up the days? I want to cover as much as possible. :-) We are doing QS dining so I don't have any ressies to work around but food suggestions are appreciated. :-)

We usually split MK down the middle-- we do Adventureland, Frontierland, and half of Fantasyland in one day, then we do Toontown (or whatever they're calling it these days ;)!, Tomorrowland, and the other half of Fantasyland the next day. The third day, we revist our favorites :goodvibes.

Here's my pondering for the day. Since LM rooms seem to be so booked up, I'm thinking that they may not be included when free dining comes out for the fall :sad2:. If we have to switch resorts, we may just upgrade to a Mod (which will hopefully offer the regular dining plan for free, so it wouldn't be that much more than staying at AOA and upgrading to the regular DDP). SO, which mod should I think about?? We've got two boys who will be 6 and 8 at the time of the trip. I really love the pirate rooms, but they are a bit out of our price range, so which mod would you choose with a standard room?? --Katie

Hi y'all!! I've had a lot going on this week, but I wanted to stop by to say hi!! Hope everyone is doing well.

I got my MVMCP tickets in the mail this week!

We saw Brave today. My kids were so excited about going to see it, and they both hated it. They were sad and scared. I felt so bad.

Vera Bradley question -
I know there are some Vera Bradley lovers on this thread & I know nothing about it, so I thought I'd ask my question....

I am putting together an auction basket for our local library. What do you think of a tote, key ring, note pads, wallet, wristlet, binder clips and a few other little things in the Folkloric pattern? Would you bid on it?

Thanks!

Id bid on it! You forced me to go on the site to look at it....... OMGosh I love it!:goodvibes

I'm so sorry they didn't like it! Mine went to see it for the second time today with their dad. I'm really happy they liked it, because that's one that I'll want to have at home. I love Scotland, though. Cab't wait to bring my family there.

So I just sat down and told my mom about pricing and she wants to upgrade to a moderate for sure. She looked at all 4 and LOVES Coronado Springs & Caribbean Beach! Her favorite is Coronado Springs but she'd be thrilled with CBR. Guessing we'll price it out both ways and see what is available for FD!

I love going to the movies and really want to see it, but my DD3.5 is not a fan of the big screen so she said she'll try it out when she can watch it on her little bitty dvd player... Here's hoping she likes it then.

Was it very scary, you know, from a kids point of view?

Great news!!! It'll be interesting to see which one you end up with. Good luck!:cheer2:

Great question!! I booked O'hana because I'm staying at the Poly and I felt like if I didn't everyone would think I was crazy because everyone wants it and there I am!:rotfl2: So I have a breakfast there and I'm hoping it's as good as everyone says it is!

We have done O'hana twice for breakfast and it is wonderful! The juice is the BEST!

My great-grandparents were from Scotland. I have cousins who looks just like the princess. I'd love to take my kids there one day.

I'm glad your family liked it. We'll still buy the DVD... just because we buy them all, and one day they might like it.

DS (4) was scared of parts of it. DD (7) was more scared than DS. I enjoyed the story line.

We had that bad storm last night near Baltimore. It was horrible!

Our trampoline blew across our whole backyard, ran down the side of my husbands truck and ended up a twisted, mangled mess in the street! So now I have to spend $300 Disney dollars on a new trampoline!

It was still pretty bad here in Delaware. I lost most of a 60'+ tree... No other damage, though, and no loss of power.

I'm also in Delaware, we are at the beach and we have had 2 wicked storms this week. Monday a tornado touched down in the neighborhood next to us and then tore across the bay and into Dewey. It was crazy!

We ARE giving up the HDDR (as of now) and spending our arrival evening at the Boardwalk eating at Cape May Cafe! :goodvibes :cool1:

Sounds great! We love Cape May (we take the Friendship boat over and back to DHS. The Boardwalk is so beautiful and fun!

Wow! I'm so glad you are safe!

I like the suggestion of 2 days, dividing the park in halves, and then the 3rd day doing the repeats that you want. QS restaurants: we love Columbia Harbour House, Cosmic Rays and though I've obviously not had it yet, I think you should definitely try lunch at Be Our Guest if it's open!

:lmao: I'd do the exact same thing as your hubby!
