Do any of ya'll know if you can book a fantasmic package with Hollywood and Vine for Lunch? I know you can do it for dinner. I want to do the package thing but I want to make sure that we get the characters and they are not at the H&V dinner. Its the main character meal for my 4 year old son.

I've been thinking and thinking of ways to surprise the kids on the day we leave for Disney! We are leaving November 10th....so I have time, but I would love ideas! DS is turning 8 in early December and DD will have just had a birthday (Nov.6th) by the time we leave...so we are thinking something that centers around going to Disney for their birthdays :goodvibes
I would love any ideas from you guys :)

I just surprised my ds13 and my dnephew11 this past Jan. It was DS Bday(1/16) The nephew knew nothing, but my DS knew we were going. We just told him we were going in Feb. We did this to get his input on restaurants, activities, etc..... Ironically, he thought we were going during dnephew's Bday, so I asked him what park he recommended for dnephew and so on. On 1/13/2012, my DW and I woke DS up and told him to get ready for school, we then said "Nevermind, we're going to WDW." He was genuinely confused. He thought We were pranking him. :lmao: We had managed to pack his clothes and hide dnephew's luggage in the house without him noticing, so all he had to do was wash up, get dressed and leave. We then dropped the dogs off at the kennel and got the rental car. But, we had one more surprise. We went to dnephew's school with his mother and signed him out. Luck was on our side. He had actually called home and asked his mother to come get him because he wasn't feeling well. So, he wasn't surprised to see her, and weirdly thought nothing was strange when we there also and said that we would drop him off at home. Neither did DS. :confused3 Anyway, we told them both that dnephew was coming with us to Disney World. IT WAS GREAT! Dnephew was still in his uniform. While ds is a WDW vet, dnephew will probably had never gone if we didn't take him. It felt really good to be able to do that for him. It was our best trip ever. P.S. I surprised everyone one more time (DW included) on the 2nd to last day by transferring to Wilderness Lodge. We had been at CSR.

Art of Animation bus service...shared or not shared with Pop?

I'm thinking about switching my family to AofA...don't wanna schlep 11 people on over crowded buses if I can help it..:scared1:

The resort does look amazing though...

Thanks! What time did you get yours for? It is only letting me pick 6:30pm and later.

I was able to get 1:15 pm. You pick the 6:30 show and then pick your dining time like you would normally. Make sure when you are in the dining ressie page you are chosing dining experince and the F! one. :goodvibes

Is anyone else NOT making reservations for a Fantasmic! package? We want to see Fantasmic!, but it's my understanding that the reserved seats aren't that great. Can anyone confirm?

I have to share this story about trying to surprise DD. In 2010 we decided to do a last minute trip to the world. DH and I were trying to surprise her so when we talked about going we talked about visiting his military buddy - Cari Bean... If you don't get it we were staying at the Carribean Resort!!

So the day we were to check in we had spent the day at Universal and while driving to WDW we went under the huge arch with Mickey and Minnie on it and I looked in the backseat and DD is reading a Universal map... Never even noticed the arch!!

So we get to the resort and she looks up and is like "Oh, is this where Dad's friend works?" Still no clue...

We walk into the building to check in and the place is covered in Christmas Disney - still no clue...

I'm talking to the CM to check in and there is a Disney folder on the desk - still no clue...

Finally I asked the CM if I could borrow the folder for a minute and held it up to her face and said "What does this say?"... The light bulb finally clicked on!!! Then she got mad because she realized we'd been laughing at her this whole time!!

Oh, kids... :)

Am I crazy for switching my park days to try to fit the dessert party in? The MK would be at a 9 that day because of night time EMH. Is that too crazy? But we would still be able to do Fantasmic! package but DHS is at a 7 that day. UGH! What to do??? I wish DD didnt see the dessert party as thats all she wants to do for her bday

The seats are OK..if you look from the "stage", the seats are left/left center.

Not bad, not great..we've done the F! package 3 times and never having to wait in line was a huge plus. We ate at MM and the Brown Derby...

This time we're winging it..with 11 people. :scared1:

I heard that too BUT I also didnt want to stand in line for an hour.

Is the line really that bad mid november when the crowd level is a 3? I can do it if I have to, but I'd have to cancel our ADR at SciFi Dine In and figure out what to put in place for our HW&V breakfast.

Well, it's kind of hard to say no if it's her birthday and that's all she's asking for. On the other hand, can you re-focus her attention to something else so you wouldn't have to change your schedule?

I just got off the phone and the CM said H and V is only participating in the Fantasmic package for dinner in November. I was trying for November 11th. :confused3

Should I try again? Online I can only get dinner times to come up too.

Hmm guess I should check mine....

ETA: I called and it is a dinner. Lunch is from 11-2 and dinner starts at 3. Which is fine. we scheduled 50's PT afterwards

Where do you guys look to find the crowd forecast? I had read on one list that the week we are going is rated the 7th best week to go, I hope so!
And how will we know when the new fantasyland restaraunts start taking reservations? Will they just show up on the reservation sight? It would be cool to try Be Our Guest.
