Well, the SW prices are exactly the same as Jetblue and Jetblue always wins that contest because of the TVs, BUT.. SW would get us to Orlando FIVE hours earlier than Jetblue on arrival day.. so I'm tempted to take SW into Orlando, but Jetblue back home since the flight times are about the same. Now, to avoid a mutiny from my JB-with-the-TV-loving kids! ;)

I am getting to Orlando MUCh later than I wanted to on our arrival day, so I know where you're coming from. That 5 hours of vacation time is priceless!

OMG! I accidently booked on SW 2 of my 3 kids with points (8 and 4) and my 13yo seperate with me(I paid for 2 tickets) I am worried now because my 3yo has a different confirmation number(my husband and 2 of the 3 kids have diff numbers.)! Will they make her sit by herself????

I am not sure on that either. I have 3 different ressies for 9 peeps.

I am considering upgrading to the early bird where I think you can get assigned seats at $20 per round trip ticket. I need to read more about it before I do it.

Never flown SW before.

Idid it. They automatically check u in and if we are going to be at the park when our 24hr window opens, I want it done for me:)

And thank you for all of the feedback regarding Chef Mickey. I hope we get lucky and are there on an "ON" day.. if you know what I mean!

Chef Mickey's for dinner is a must for us every trip. We've done it at least 5 times, (4 before we had kids!), and loved it every time. I'm always so surprised to hear about bad experiences there because it absolutely makes our trip every time! We've never felt rushed or missed by characters. Perhaps our food tastes are simple compared to those who pan it. :goodvibes.

Regardless, I hope you will have a wonderful time!

Regards,
C.

Just wanted to confirm my dates with you all and join in the fun! We (me, Dh, DS13 and DS12) will be traveling from the 16th through the 24th. Actually my DH is checking in on the 15th becasue we were lucky enough to get the free dining code :cool1:!!

I've been sitting here at the computer debating on our flights on Southwest. Actually the flight down is good ($158) and good times, it was the return that was giving me fits! The price is really high ($263) and I couldn't decide on the times. Finally the boys decided for me, bite the bullet, pay the money and come home later then I would normally (8pm).

So there you have it, now to start planning the dinners. Yes I know I really need to get on that. The only reservation I made was for Thanksgiving day at Cape May.

Now Ohana Character Breakfast OR Kona cafe? I wanted Tonga Toast(never tried it) and I know they dont serve it... is it goofy to get it from Captain Cooks beforehand-just to try? Or should I switch our ressie to Kona cafe? Itll be 8 adults, 1 disney adult and 2 kids

Did you already make all our your dining ressies?

Yup...

There are 11 of us (8 adults), so ADRs were of major importance! :)

Lotsa character meals for our 3 grandsons... (and me.)

Now waiting on FD to see if I can catch a break. :confused3

There are 15 of us. Too many peeps to decide when and where to eat. I made about 4 ressies over the course of the week for varying number of peeps.

I told everyone to make their own dining ressies but I doubt any did. If we get free dining, I doubt there would be much availability.

well I guess they dont want to eat then lol :rotfl2:

Can someone fill me in on what's so bad about Chef Mickey? I've never been there before, but read so many bad reviews.. is it the food? The service? What?

I was thinking about going there this trip since we've never gone before, but am worried about all of the awful reviews... :confused3

We had a blast when we went there, our kids were around age 7-8, and while it is not as special/fancy as some of Disney's other dining, I still think it is much better buffet then say Golden Corral etc... We loved the atmosphere and the characters dancing and such :) We have it booked for our upcoming trip, I can't wait to take my 5yr old :)

Ooooh..15 hungry people..sounds scary. :scared1:

I made ADRs for my whole crew..3 rooms worth..asked repeatedly for input and then decided based on my own experience.

I would make some kind of ADRs if I were you...just to be safe..

yea you could always cancel before you go! BUT if FDing comes out, you will already have some for the big group of ppl :thumbsup2

I don't think fares will come down. In fact I expect the fares(for my flights) to get sold out.

We're travelling the first week of November so it's not as bad as the holiday weekend.
Usually SW has sales but not this far out. I will have to keep an eye on the flights and see what happens.
