Booked my ADR's this morning. Only needed a few but couldn't get any thing I wanted for Thanksgiving Day.:sad2: And this was my own fault. We have 2 separate reservations, 11/14-11/16 at POR and 11/16-11/23 at SSR. I was booking for those first couple of days only. Thought I had to wait until Sunday to make the rest. Just for fun I decided to look at 1900 Park Fare for the big birthday dinner and to my surprise I was able to book it! So then I decided to try Thanksgiving Day and I couldn't get anything on my list as possibilites. There were already 28 restaurants showing no availability.
I know this is my fault. I thought the system wouldn't link these 2 reservations as one. I feel stupid.:sad1:
Anybody else try to boook Turkey Day today? Hope you had better luck than I did!!

This freaks me out... I can't even book yet!

Our first Thanksgiving trip, I did things all backwards. I was all worried about CRT, which I got easily. Then I started on Thanksgiving Day and everything I had on my list of possibilities was already gone.

Did you end up booking anything for Thanksgiving? We ended up going to Boatwrights at POR for Thanksgiving that year, and it was a great experience. There are a lot of off the beaten path choices, so you can still enjoy a great meal. Just be flexible!

:scared1: OMG! That is NOT gonna be good if I cant get TH!!! :scared:

I will be trying for Tusker House for lunch on Wednesday the 28th. What are you looking at?

I was able to book Tusker House on the 13th with no problem. Hope you can get what you want.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, we are leaving for the beach :beach: this afternoon after I get off work! The bags are packed and we are so ready to get out of town :drive: for a few days and kick off the summer! I hope everyone has a great weekend! :cool2:
I hope we get Tusker House too!
I hope ya'll have a great time!! :goodvibes
Just be flexible.......good advice for all of us. :goodvibes
Well, i can tell you this, we've never paid to go to the candlelight processional, we've always walked up and was seated.
darn online dining ressie isn't working and called and she said she can't even get it to work they are updating or something :(
Right now I have RFC scheduled for our arrival day, our plane gets in at 11(if I get the earliest flight) so I have it on my list for 230pm. I was thinking that maybe I should skip it and just make a dinner ADR? I dont wanna be rushed. We are on the DxDP (11ppl total- 8 adults, 1 disney adult and 2 kids) My youngest DD really wants to eat with the animals. We have T-Rex also scheduled which everyone wants to do. Should I try to squeeze it in or just skip it just in case we arent there in time? If I do skip it, and we have time for DTD are there any good CS meals there? I know everyone will be hungry when we get there. We also have a dinner adr scheduled at WCC for 7 so I dont want it any later then like 230. Any help would be wonderful!
I was going to ask the same thing...the june 4th works out good for me too as I am waiting for points to be deposited from the cc purchase. They should go in there next week after my closing date. I will pay for 3 flights with points and 2 oop and wondering if I have to do 2 seperate purchases :confused3
Yes. Points vs credit card will have to be separate transactions. Also, if you don't have enough points from 1 account, that will have to be an additional transaction.
I have have 50k points for my flight. (1 transaction)
DW will have 50k points for her and DD. (1 transaction)
CC for additional 6 tickets. (1 transaction)
What's even dumber is that group travel doesn't start until you have 10 peeps. But online you can only book up to 8 at a time. So if you have a party of 9, like I do, then you would need 2 transactions anyway. (SW dropped the ball on that one!)
Don't forget you will need exact names as they appear on photo id's and birth dates of everyone in your party when booking. If the names don't match, I am told there could be a boarding issue.
HTH.
Thanks. I think I have 50,250 points and I can buy 3 full flights then I can use remaining points/cc for the 4th and pay completely oop for the 5th right?
I love earl of sandwich and also puck express is so yummy and a great use of a counter service credit. Not sure with 11 you could all sit together at either one.
Well with the DxDP we have TS credits that can be used as CS... I just dont wanna waste them on bad CS meals.... We ate at Captain Cooks at the Poly last trip and it was baaaad! Thanks for the suggestions... I will look into them!
Not exactly.
You must have enough points to cover the entire purchase.
Example: if you have 11,000 points left but the ticket costs 13,000, you cannot use your 11,000 points towards it. It's either points or credit card - you cannot combine them.
Also you'll want to make sure you get the 'wanna get away fare' otherwise your point redemption will almost be cut in half. (60 vs 100 points per $1)
50,250 point would let you redeem for $837 in wanna get away fares. That only covers 2 round trip flights for me. You must have cheap flights if you can squeeze 3 out of that.
EEEK! I did it - I booked our flights with Jetblue!
I was just freaking out that they were going to skyrocket with us wanting to travel during the holiday. Hopng I won't be kicking myself in the butt later. I figured prices on another airline would have to be $40-50 cheaper (depending on the baggage fees) plus we had a little credit ($60 total) from our last trip and I just don't see it happening...fingers crossed I made the right decision!
Didn't some of you say you were able to book Fantasmic package???????
I tried online and calling and both have no dates for November yet :(
we missed Fantasmic last time (and this was in September when supposedly the crowds aren't high) and both, yes there were 2 show times, the lines were way to long for way to early prior to show time to even get in with my then 3 yr old, I love F and do not want to miss it this time :sad1:
I would be scared to book an ADR for 2:30 if your plane doesn't land til 11:00. There are so many "what if's" that could delay you.
Earl of Sandwich has really good reviews. We are doing TS at T-Rex solely because I know my DS will LOVE that atmosphere. I'm not expecting great food, but I'm sure we'll manage. :goodvibes
November was released yesterday. I booked by calling but I will warn you it took three calls - Told all booked every day, told not available yet, third time the charm wonderful CM that laughed and apologized for this misinformation given on my previous calls.
I learned to always keep calling when not given the info I expected and these boards have consistantly been more accurate than CMs.:rotfl2:
These are our favorite CS at DTD also. Last year 8 or 9 of us went to Earl's on a Saturday night. We grabbed 2 tables outside and moved them together. It was a little tight but it worked. Really only needed some place to put our drinks and sandwiches. It was'nt like we were trying to eat a meal off of a plate.
It was extremely slow for a little while early this morning. Took me forever to book 1900 Park Fare. Every time I entered something for the credit card info it would take at least a minute to update. When I finally hit confirm reservation nothing happened for 5 minutes. So I logged completely off and logged back in and it worked perfectly. About 1:30 PM I decided to get back on to check Thanksgiving Day again and now it won't even let me enter my resort reservation number.
Starting to wonder about Thanksgiving. So many people are having problems with Tusker House and F! packages. All of the places that I looked at for dinner had no availability at any dinner time. Even tried different nymber of people to see if something would come up. Is it possible that some of these restaurants haven't been loaded into the sytem yet? Yesterday was the 180+10 mark for Thanksgiving.
Yes, but mine was done via the club level planners at Wilderness so they might do it differently.
