If you put the date you are looking for in manually on the website availability pops up even though the calendar is greyed out. :goodvibes

Not exactly.

You must have enough points to cover the entire purchase.

Example: if you have 11,000 points left but the ticket costs 13,000, you cannot use your 11,000 points towards it. It's either points or credit card - you cannot combine them.

Also you'll want to make sure you get the 'wanna get away fare' otherwise your point redemption will almost be cut in half. (60 vs 100 points per $1)

50,250 point would let you redeem for $837 in wanna get away fares. That only covers 2 round trip flights for me. You must have cheap flights if you can squeeze 3 out of that.

if I have enough for lets say one way of the 3rd, could I just pay for the one way with the points and do a seperate purchase for one way home? Im sorry about all the ??? I just wanna be sure I understand before booking. Iv never flown with SW at all. And each flyer gets 2 free checked bags, correct?
I think I have been looking at the october bookings just to get an idea and the wanna get away points are 8400 one way and 10,080 home so that will cover 2 then I have enough to do a one way ticket if I am allowed. Then I need to pay for 2 full price flights and a one way home? IDk.... If I buy 3 full price flights its $910! :scared1:

Yes. You could buy the one way ticket on points and the return ticket on credit card - in two separate transactions.

I've have never flown SW either. lol ( I just read all the rules and spoke to group travel)

You can also 'buy' points but I do not know if they are credited instantly. So, for example, if you were 2000 points short, you could buy them for $50.

Hi fellow November travellers! :wave2: I'm planning our FIRST ever Disney Vacation with lots of excitement and anxiety! We're staying at WL 11/25-12/1. My first question is regarding ADR's.
I know I can start making my ADR's on 5/29 for the week. Question is, should I start with my priority ADR's (like CRT) or just do them day by day? Will it make a difference? What time can I start making them? I'm located in central time zone.
Also, we booked through Dreams Unlimited. Should I let Beth make the reservations or go ahead and do it myself (control freak here!)

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to our home. :wave2:

I always like to make my own ADR's. The order depends on what you are wanting to make. If you list the ones you want here we will "help" you decide the order of getting them. ;)

The order can make a difference of getting the ones you want.

:wave2: We are going the same week! We are going to try for CRT too.... I would start with that one first. Hoping we both have an easy ADR day :hourglass

Here's the rough draft of the ADR's we're wanting to do. They are all character meals...don't judge! :)

Mon: Crystal palace dinner
Tues: CRT dinner
Weds: Chef Mickeys breakfast
Thurs: Akershus breakfast
Fri: TH breakfast / Garden Grill dinner
Sat: Ohana breakfast

No judgement on our thread. We don't allow it. :rotfl2: BTW I have 2 character meals and we have no kids going.

I would try for these first
CRT
Akershus
Chef Mickeys
Tusker House( if wanting a time before park opening)

Garden Grill is by far my favorite character interaction meal of all time. Looks like a good list to me.

Question not pertaining to the actual trip-but the plan,...on y'alls Tickers--is it correct? I have noticed every time, that mine is one day off! I put it for the arrival date of our trip and its always one day off..happened with the one I just did for our ADR ticker too...one day late. Do y'all put it for the day BEFORE you leave? Just curious,...

After many unsuccessful tries, I was able to log-in and book dinner at Crystal Palace on Thanksgiving. LOL Not exactly my first choice. I know MK will be very crowded and had not planned on going there at all that day. But I need a child friendly buffet meal for a very picky eater. I know many restaurants will have special menus that day as well as adding/extending lunch and dinner hours. So I'm ggod for the time being.

Didn't anyone one else book Thanksgiving?? Would like to know what you got!

No its on the correct day. I did notice that if you set up your ticker at lets say 5pm, it sometimes waits til that time to update :rotfl2:

Perfect! Thanks for the info. Do you know what time I can start making my reservations?

I booked 50s Prime time for dinner :)

This freaks me out... I can't even book yet!

Our first Thanksgiving trip, I did things all backwards. I was all worried about CRT, which I got easily. Then I started on Thanksgiving Day and everything I had on my list of possibilities was already gone.

Did you end up booking anything for Thanksgiving? We ended up going to Boatwrights at POR for Thanksgiving that year, and it was a great experience. There are a lot of off the beaten path choices, so you can still enjoy a great meal. Just be flexible!

On Thanksgiving 2010, we ate at Riverside Mill at POR and had a wonderful meal! We had eaten an early lunch at Le Cellier, but my boys were longing for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. When we got back to the resort that evening, we all were hungry. DH, DD and I just had little pizzas, but the boys LOVED their turkey and trimmings. DH said he is definitely having that next time and it was only a counter-service meal on the dining plan. Totally worth it and delicious and not crowded.

darn online dining ressie isn't working and called and she said she can't even get it to work they are updating or something :(

Ugh! You're scaring me. My ADR day is tomorrow!

Will be trying tomorrow. Was going to do Epcot on T-Day again, but we really want to do the CP there the day after Thanksgiving (our only option for the trip), so shuffling our days around, it looks like we'll have do do Magic Kingdom on Thanksgiving. :scared: Hoping for 'Ohana.....pixiedust:

I was just now able to book Tusker House for 11/20 (8am) so perhaps those of you who weren't able to before can do it now. yay!! :cool1:

For those that have been to MK on Thanksgiving Day before, HOW BAD IS IT????

We will not have park-hoppers and want to see the CP for our first time, and our ONLY option for it is Friday, 11/23. That was planned as a MK day for us, and Epcot was planned for Thanksgiving. so, we're flip-flopping the days, but I'm freaking out at the thought of being at MK for Thanksgiving..... HOW crazy will it be??:rolleyes2
