NOVEMBER 2012 Trip Planners Part 2~yes there IS another!

I got a code about this time in 2010 and we'd never been to Disney, but I'd registered on their site and ordered a planning DVD.

We are officially booked for AoA Nov 28-Dec 4, can't wait! A PIN would be great, but we're going regardless. Dining plan, regular park tickets (no hoppers; our kids are little and we didn't use them last trip, total waste of money).

I was able to do Ohana, chef mickey, Park Fare & Yak & Yeti all online with no problem. Plan linked with our original confirmation number.

I'm curious of what you didn't like at MM? I chose that because I wanted to do lunch not dinner. We've never been but I (maybe incorrectly) figured we couldn't go too wrong with italian esp. with our picky eater.

None of us cared for MM. dH had the toughest steak ever. I had Osso Bucco that was so disappointing. Everything was just so blah. We figured the first time that maybe it was just an off day for them, but when none of liked it the second time, we decided 2 strikes and they were out. We really don't like eating at the Studios. We prefer going to the nearby resorts on DHS days. But I've heard plenty of good reviews of MM, so please don't let my opinion influence you.

Well, we scored a 30% off code for Dec, so we will not be joining you all in Nov. I hope you all have wonderful trips! pixiedust:

Congrats on the code!

I'm a little late, but can I add myself to this thread? I'll be at POFQ Nov. 10-17th. :cool1:

Welcome!

Yay, congrats on booking!

New on here not to DW. Just wanted to say that we will be going from Nov. 24th til Dec. 1 2012

Welcome to the DIS! I'm in GA, too. Jefferson in Jackson County. How about you?

Is it too late to join the party :cool1::cool1:?? We're booked at AoA from Nov. 15-26. DH will have a conference from the 23-25 at the GF, but we're not changing our resort mid-stay in hopes of free dining. If there's no free dining, we'll switch to the GF for the last four nights. Booked our ADRs in the wee hours of Saturday morning, so we're all set there :thumbsup2. Still waiting for candlelight processional packages to come out, though. We've never stayed this long (our last stay was 8 nights), so I'm looking forward to a more laid-back pace. --Katie

I have been lurking here for several weeks but haven't posted yet. We are booked at WL from Nov 3rd - Nov 11th. This is our first trip with our 6 and 8 year olds. I am beyond overwhelmed by all the planning this trip is taking. I am so stressed about figuring out which park to visit on which day! I had my husband help me and I think we have it figured out but I keep worrying about it. He said I am waaaayyy overthinking it all. But, I have been dreaming about taking the kids for years and I just want to make sure I do everything I can so that we have the best time we possibly can.

I have a question for everyone who books all these meals in advance. I did book CRT and Biergarten but I worry that booking dinner every night will make us feel rushed to be at a certain place at a certain time. I also worry that the kids might be too exhausted to sit through a sit down meal each night and counter service might be easier. Anyone have any advice or thoughts on this?

I really enjoy sit down , but sometimes it seems like we are chasing food the whole time.

Here is my experience with pin codes. Go to the disney site and price out a package. Then save it for later. To do this you have to register so you can log in. They almost always send you a code if you let the offer sit saved for awhile. good luck! Let me know if it works for anyone.

You might be better off booking a TS lunch rather than dinner. Also, the character buffets worked out best for us. If you don't have anything booked for each day, you might end up searching for somewhere to eat--that is the worst when you're hungry and tired.Take a look at the menus (counter service and table service) and see which ones your family might enjoy for each park you'll be in. Don't forget to cancel any ressies you won't be able to keep.

Hey, you have come to the right place. someone here will be able to help you with your questions. Are you using Touring Plans or EasyWDW to help you with which park/which days? That is really the easiest way to go. As far as meals hubby and I have always had our TS meal for lunch. This may work for ya'll as well. It is also allowing you to just sit and rest mid day. You may also find it to be easier to eat in the park you are in at the time. And remember the more you visit, the more your comfort level changes.

Are you using a dining plan?

I really enjoy sit down , but sometimes it seems like we are chasing food the whole time.

I'm alittle worried about this very thing with this trip. We are using the Deluxe plan. So we shall see how it goes.

I've done this over, and over, and over again. Nothing has worked for me. :sad2:

Having your TS for lunch allows you to walk the meal off as well. :thumbsup2

Received our :santa:MVMCP:santa: tickets in the mail yesterday. Everything seems to be coming together nicely.
Now its just a waiting game :hourglass Good luck to those of you that are still waiting to make your ADRs, I hope everyone gets what they are planning for.

We do a LOT of TS lunches rather than dinners! We have ADRs booked for our November trip (just in case) but I really think we'll stick to quick service if free dining comes out.

:welcome: I will add you to the list! Yea we were thinking about park hoppers but with 2 of our 3 DD's still being small, Im afraid we wont take full advantage of them

Well we want to eat here for the first time on our F! day. I hope its good. We are kind of simple ppl who would be okay with a Pizza Hut pizza or a Happy Meal lol so I hope we like MM

:welcome: That is a long trip! This will be our longest trip yet(7nights) I couldnt imagine staying that long. It would be :cloud9:

:welcome: No need to stress(although most of us do) I look at the park hours and the rec. for those days and see if it fits with what I want. Sometimes it works and sometimes I have to change a few things around. I dont think booking dinner will make you feel rushed. You will do so much walking that that sit down dinner will be a welcomed rest...BELIEVE ME! We went for 4 days in 2010 with the kids for our first time and I had no idea how much walking it would be. The kids were so tired. DInner was a good time to rest and relax a bit before going back into the parks  My kids were 10,6 and 2 and they lasted through every sit down meal without any breakdowns. Most of the time AFTER dinner though we were all so tired we left the park anyway.

Yesterday - I called to see if I had a pin code attached to my name. For the first time ever, yes i did! The gal did some research and said it was going live today, and thought it might be for free dining, but she could not confirm it.

She was able to tell me that there were blackout dates for November - that were almost identical to last years blackout dates for free dining. First week was blacked out - Thanksgiving week was blacked out...etc. I made a reservation for November 9-18. The first day - the 9th through the 15th was the first open week for this particular code.

Today, I called and yes the code had gone live this morning. Free quick service dining - and dropped our reservation cost by $700 and change.

So keep calling and checking! By the way, last week I had made up a package and saved it on DW reservation site....dont know if the code was added after this, but seems appropriate that it might have been added then.

I never thought of doing TS for lunch rather than dinner :confused3 Its a great idea but with the DxDP I am not sure if itll work... especially with having a breakfast scheduled. Maybe I could do a late lunch and a CS dinner
