I will be arriving November 10 - 18th. Staying at BLT till the 15th then onto AKL. Tickets bought to Nov 12 MVMCP!!

Good Morning

I am starting to panic as I make my ADRs on June 1 and still have not decided on daily park schedules

All I know for sure is we will go to MVMCP on Nov 29.

Do the Osborne Lights come on at dusk? After reading What Smileybug said about being there at the start when they throw the switch and falling snow I know that is when I want to be there.

It looks as if the only thing we will miss is the big tree at MK since it does not go up until after the parade tapeing, now if I can just figure out when to go and do what when at the other parks.

Does anyone know if there are any places that open at like 10 or 10:30 for lunch????? I'd like to have as early a lunch as possible on the day I have our dinners at around 4pm

here are my adr's how do they look?

Thursday MK 11/15 Cape May 7:45

friday AK 11/16Boma 6pm

Sat Epcot Lecellier 11:30 lunch

Sunday HS currently SciFi at 4:15 but still waiting on Fantasmic to open up we want Hollywood Brown Derby. I need an early one for either if we go to Fantasmic and if my dd possibly makes it to the finale for AI

Monday Epcot LesChefs De France 5:30

Teusday AK Wispering Canyon 7:20

Wednesday MK Chef Mickey 5:15

Thursday HS 50's Prime Time 4:20 Again early for either fantasmic or AI

Friday if we do not get Hollywood Brown derby I got us down for Grand Floridian Cafe for our departure day

I don't think you are going to find a TS lunch that early. I'm not sure what time the CS places start serving lunch. I do hope that you are able to find something that works for you. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm sure we will love it. I am starting to get more and more excited about it.

Well, looks like you have spent some time on the Dis. :goodvibes Take a deep breath and you can do this. With the lights we always just strolled over before dark. We would find a comfortable spot and grab a drink and a pretzel. And then just people watch, chat with people standing around us. Just enjoy the build up of anticipation. :goodvibes

what about instead of an early lunch at 10:30, a late breakfast??? Like 1045 or so?

I may have to join the resort changers thread. I booked Poly CL for our trip over a year in advance and then cancelled it because even with a discount I couldn't justify the price in my mind. So I then booked a GV room at Poly which I had for months and was happy with until last week when I jumped ship because a WL CL room opened up and was practically the same price plus DH and the kids love the looks of WL and it will be refurbished by the time we go.

Now if FD does get released soon I may consider changing to a moderate because I will lose my room only discount and will have to pay rack rate on the room. So here is my question to y'all...what moderate is your favorite and why?

We did the drive from central Indiana last year its not too bad :) My biggest piece of advice is to avoid going through Atlanta between 6-10a and 4-8p if at all possible. It is a total madhouse on 75 at those times!!

My sister lives on the south side of Atlanta. I know exactly what you mean. :woohoo: But as long as you know what lane you need to be in & when to get in it, helps.

I can help a little....maybe!

Ohana - 6-6:30ish for a leisurely dinner & wandering down to the beach

From AKL after dinner, your best option would be to take a bus back to one of the parks that is open late & switch to a POFQ bus. Don't forget, there are two lodges & many savannah views to see...I think they also have night vision goggles some evenings.

HS - that is a lot of stuff to do! You might want to switch to early meals instead of late to get everything in. (Personally, I'd skip Sci-Fi - fun atmosphere, but I think the food isn't all that great) Fantasmic! isn't just the time for the show, it is also the time in line to get in & back out. Osbourne Lights, we loved it! We spent a nice long time oohhing & aahhhing at all of the little details. Amazing!

Sounds like you have a great trip planned!

Thank you so much for replying!! That helps me a lot.

It is a lot to do in HS, I know. But, HS is not our favorite park as there are only a handful of things we really enjoy there. So, I figured those 2 meals and Fantasmic and Osburne Lights will really be our priority (besides a morning ride on TSM and a ride on the new Star Tours of course.) I considered doing early lunch and then an early dinner, but that would put us at 11:00 for lunch and then I'd feel like we'd need to do 4:30 for dinner in order to be safely done in time to line up for Fantasmic. I don't think I can eat 2 meals that close together. LOL. IDK, maybe I'm off on my estimates and could still do both early???

Has anyone ever done a ressie after park close and do buses still run then?

Have you worked the numbers to see which would be a better discount for your family? We always come out ahead with a room discount rather than free dining.

I did a lot of resort changing last year, and ended up longing for one of my cancelled reservations.

Personally, I would choose a concierge level deluxe stay over free dining at a moderate if the price was even close. But we don't love the dining plan, either, so maybe I'm not the right person to respond!

Good luck - I know how hard it is to agonize over your resort choice!

hmmm I've always felt like the selection isn't very good with the breakfast or as filling

can you recommend a good one?

I've heard that if you choose a place that serves lunch, too, you can actually eat from the lunch selections as they bring them out. I've heard of this happening at Tusker House and Crystal Palace.

We are on the same boat right now. I am hoping for that 35% off pin I am hearing about to be able to keep our WL ressie. That is a better deal for our family who doesn't like a TS every day. If we don't get a good room rate, then we will definitely be changing to POFQ - which is beautiful and small - for free dining. But, really, do the math for your family!

I loooove Port Orleans Riverside!!! It has a nice feel to it and I love the walkways. They pool is nice too and its not too close(not far either) to any of the rooms so its not noisy. Its kind of in the center. I cant wait to stay there in Nov. The bus service is great and so is the food court. I like being able to take the boat too. :cloud9:

Oh its filling! I love Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. This trip, we are trying Chef Mickeys breakfast and 1900 Park Fare on top of TH and CP. I also have read that Cape Mays breakfast and O'hanas Best Friends breakfast is delicious! The Mickey waffles are TO DIE FOR!!!!!!

I have heard this too! Thats why we are doing late breakfasts like 1030 or 1045. A little park time in the morning then relax for a few them back to more park time :woohoo:

I agree totally with doing the math for your family. I did the math and since we are staying at POR, the room rate is $169 a night so a 35% off code would save us about $50-60(roughly, I est in my head) at 7 nights so $420 on the high end and FD would save us $929(already had this figured out) so for my family FD is the winner. Its different for everyone. It depends on resort, number of ppl and how long your staying.

ADR's made! (for now ;) )
Except one: Garden Grill. It kept erroring and when I called the rep said they were not booking yet. Really? Anyone else?

11/17 Dinner Ohana
11/18 Lunch Yak & Yeti
11/19 Lunch Mama Melrose Fantasmic package (had to call to get, not booking online)
11/20 Breakfast 1900 Park Fare, Dinner Chef Mickey's
11/21 Hopefully Garden Grill when we can book it...

I have what might be a silly question. I know as of now everyone is having issues with Fantasmic Dining so I have already made our adr at Moma Melrose's for 4:45pm on Nov. 11. Will that allow us enough time to make it to the Fantasmic show at 6:30pm:confused:? This will be our first time dining at MM's!:cheer2: TIA:thumbsup2

I'd say if you have the package booked and will be able to sit in the reserved section you'll be cutting it close but it might work.
If you don't have the 'package' there is probably no way to make it in time for a seat.

But I've never been this time of year - used to a bigger crowd - maybe someone else will think differently.

Ah, resort changing.... We always go to Port Orleans Riverside. DH decided we were going to change it to Yacht Club this time..... And we recently changed it back to POR again! We just couldn't justify all that extra money. Maybe one day...

Anyway, our favorite moderate is PORT ORLEANS! We love it. We love Riverside Mill, the food court. Love the gift shop, the walkways, the boat ride to Downtown Disney...everything. Can't wait to see the refurbed rooms! We WILL get to Yacht Club one day, but highly recommend POR.

Ha ha, good 'ole Atlanta traffic. I HATE it! I avoid it at all costs!

Were you able to do your ADRs online? I was not. Had to do mine by phone. The CM gave me another confirmation number and said either should work now to link my dining plan on-line. Still does not. When I called again, the CM said they've had trouble with that for months and that you can't do the 180+10 online..... Your ADRs sound great, except MM. We're not fans of that one, but I hope you love it.:goodvibes

Our ADRs:

Arriving Thursday 11/15, no ADR: eating at Wolfgang Puck Express
11/16 Dinner at Crystal Palace
11/17 Dinner at Yak & Yeti
11/18 Lunch at Le Cellier
11/19 Dinner at Cape May
11/20 Dinner at Crystal Palace (hoping this ADR ends up being Be Our Guest!)
11/21 Dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse
11/22 Dinner at 'Ohana (Thanksgiving!)
11/23 Dinner at Tutto Italia (planning to do 1st time Candlelight Processional)
11/24 Breakfast at Kona Cafe (before we leave for the sad drive home :sad1::sad2: )

Our plan was to arrive on Saturday, 11/17, but we added 2 days in hopes of getting free dining. If we don't, we'll shorten our trip to arrive on Saturday again.... (that's why I haven't changed my ticker...I don't want to jinx it!)

I was able to do Ohana, chef mickey, Park Fare & Yak & Yeti all online with no problem. Plan linked with our original confirmation number.

I'm curious of what you didn't like at MM? I chose that because I wanted to do lunch not dinner. We've never been but I (maybe incorrectly) figured we couldn't go too wrong with italian esp. with our picky eater.
