NOVEMBER 2012 Trip Planners Part 2~yes there IS another!

Is anyone making anything for their trip? I mean above and beyond planning journals...

I plan on making:
Tie-dye mickey shirts
Animal Kingdom shirts
pressed penny holders
hair bows to match DD #3 outfits(since she is only 4, I can still get away with it lol)
I wanna make something Christmasy

We have made an autograph book, passport books, stroller tag, and bought an adorable Mickey shirt on etsy for the youngest.

for MK- we love Cosmic Ray's for the variety, although I hear they changed their menu recently and no longer offer the ribs/chicken combo.

oh pooh we didn't get this last trip and had planned on this trip

The kids liked Casey's Corner, I think they just liked sitting on the bleachers watching the tv lol

We loved Columbia Harbor house the first time, the second time it was just plain nasty, I didn't even finish my meal and was too hot/tired to go back and let them make it right.....might try them again though because I liked them so much the first time

Hmmmm How's the food at Contempo Cafe???? That wouldn't be too bad to hop on over for lunch

I did switch my DHS day and my AK day. I also removed Fantasmic! Other than that I think it looks good. The only thing I am undecided about are the times..... what to do!

I have never eaten in CHH...we are planning on it this trip. I will say we ate at the Lunching pad...NEVER AGAIN yucky! I wanna try the CS at BOG this time. And we ate at Pinnochio Village Hause(sp?) It was good

As a first timer to Disney, I thought the idea of magic hours was to make the most of them. Reading easywdw its recommendations are to stay away from those. Whats the consensus from people here .. use them or avoid magic hours ??

IME it depends on HOW you use them. Early morning ones are nice because most people will try but fail to get there early, and if you stay for all the evening hours it works well too as most people will go home. The time in between crowds will be worse than a normal day though - tons of people going for it that might have picked a different park. We'll generally go early to a park that has them if we haven't already visited that one for the morning, or show up late after going to a different park during the day for the evening ones.

Not sure which is true, but I had read that they moved the chicken/ribs combo to dinner only. But that it's still there (as of now anyway). They separated the menu into lunch and dinner so chicken/ribs is no longer available for lunch, only after 4pm. Guess they got tired of people getting such a good deal for lunch on the dining plan. Go figure.

Looks good. The only thing that caught my eye was breakfast at Tusker House at 9:30 I think that is Morning EMH at AK. I would push mine back a little. JMO. I like to make the most of of my morning park time.

GOOD idea to have a later breakfast time on AK day. Seeing that it is an EMH morning you can get there early to get a few things done then have breakfast On your HS day are you still wanting to watch Fantasmic without the dining package or are you OR just forgetting about it this trip? Remember they will be having Osborne Lights coming on around 6:00-6:30 too.

You are right. We had a 1030 when we ate there in Dec. Maybe a 10 or so? I def wanna ride the safari before breakfast

I think forgetting it all together. I love the Osbourne lights though They start at 630 and continue til close. But its crowded!!!!!! Of course we went on a Sat night before...big NO-NO

If you look at his detailed descriptions and park hours it does, but likely a typo if the calendar doesn't!

Absolutely use them if you are morning people. We plan for them by being there at rope drop, staying until late morning/noontime, leave for the early afternoon for downtime at resort, then return to the park late afternoon and stay until normal closing time. It works really well and we accomplish so much before noon. And we don't do park hoppers if we have at least 7 full park days and have never regretted it due to planning meals based on parks well in advance.

I might switch my DHS and AK day back... I figured my grandparents want to see the Osbourne lights and they are at 630. They leave that day so AK would be a better choice with an early dinner. I have some time to think about it. I really wanted them to experience O'hana for breakfast with us BUT I was afraid I wouldnt get a seating for 11 if its so early in our trip. So I made it later just in case. The 3 breakfasts I have (Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace and Ohanas) are all interchangable based on availability. I hate waiting for my ADR's. I am one of the last ppl on this board to book them
