November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

We usually put it up the day after thanksgiving... But this year it will be a couple days after. Hopefully the day after we come home. I love having my tree up and decorated. I think we will put the tree in their room up before we leave so we have a little Christmas to come home too. Maybe sneak and put our elf on a shelf in the tree to make it look like he was sneaking around while we were gone.

We actually do the 12 days of Christmas and "Little Christmas" on Epiphany. My dd opens :santa: gifts on Christmas morning and one gift from Mom and Dad. Then for the next 11 days she opens a small gift from Mom and Dad. On Epiphany she opens whatever is left. Then we take the tree down.

I hope you don't mind me asking what Little Christmas is but my dd3 was born on Jan 6 and one of the nurses mentioned it was Little Christmas and at the time I didn't ask her about it.

Thanks
Tammy

Anyone plan on doing Agent P missions at Epcot?

Yes! We did them when it was Kim Possible and my then 6yrold loved it. She wasn't sure who Kim Possible was so we you tubed it for her. She loves Phineas and Ferb so she is excited about the change.

Well if I were up to me I'd put up my tree Nov. 1. But we usually do it mid Nov. or the week of Thanksgiving. We have a beautiful artificial tree. I do start listening to Christmas music Nov. 1st though! I jut can't get enough and that's one of he reasons we go to Disney the same week in Nov. We can't imagine being there without the Christmas decor and music! It's just amazing!

My dd7 told me Sunday that she wants to do this and I had not planned on it. So now I'm trying to work it into my touring plans. I'd like to pick between Germany, China & Canada (since she's already working on these countries for American Heritage Girls.) Does anyone know if all of these countries have Agent P? I also remember from Kim Possible that some are better than others. Anyone heard yet which ones are the best?

Can't remember if Canada has a mission, but I know Germany and
China do. Germany is one of the most fun, IMO. We also liked Mexico and UK a lot.

For us, it was easy to fit the missions in with touring-they take maybe 30 mins and can be done while looking around at the pavilions and shops. DD and her friend did every mission (back when it was Kim Possible) over 1 full day at Epcot- once they had the phone/communicator thingy, they could do as many or few missions as they wanted.

I think we are gonna do this! Maybe we could do this while we are waiting for the men to finish golf!

Quick rope drop question...if I have an ADR at Crystal Palace at 8:05 on the morning of extra magic hours will my family be able to enter the park before 8am?? I know usually you can enter early on non-magic hour mornings about 1/2 hour early but don't know the policy on these special days. Thanks in advance!

:cool1::cool1: Disney's site shows I am 60 days away!!!! :cool1::cool1:

On a sad note, we finally got the "official" word from my DH's ex-wife and my step daughter will not be able to join us on this trip :worried: - - but next October is a go!!!!!

I called Disney to remove DSD from the reservation which makes the balance about $400 less and I will pay that off this week. I also talked to Dining where they changed all my reservations to show only 3 people instead of 4 and everyone stayed at the same day and I time that I originally made! pixiedust:

While my DD(5) was in school this morning I got all of our ADR cards, dining invites, tip envelopes printed and organized my planning binder.

To answer today's question - - we usually get our live tree the first week of December as my DD's birthday is Nov 29th and I only take it down when you can't even breath in the room without the needles falling off! :lmao::rotfl2::lmao: I just love the fresh pine smell!

Hope everyone had a great Disney day!

I believe so. We have an ADR for Crystal Palace for 8:20AM on a morning without EMHs, and we were told we can enter 15-20 minutes before our reservation.

We booked through Disney using our Disney Visa card then immediately paid that card off, so we essentially paid cash for it. :thumbsup2 The bonus of doing it this way was getting the Disney Rewards Dollars for the trip. :yay: By the time we get to WDW we'll have just over $300 in Disney Dollars for expenses. That covers at least the BBB package and probably our tips for our TS meals. :thumbsup2[/QUOTE]

We do to then you also get 6 months interest free. I also get disney gift cards at our Kroger. Kroger gives you 2x gas points for each cards and sometimes 4x so I can get gas cheaper.

I may be mistaken, but i'm pretty sure that's the day the wise men actually made it to Bethlehem.

It's also the start of Carnival Season and the 1st day you can get king cakes in Mardi Gras country! (Though some places now sell king cakes year round.)

Can someone help me by sending me a link to a post, or site, that shows you where the fastpass machines are. We've never needed to use them but would like to give them a try on this trip! Thanks! :)

Tell me about Ohana's.

We enjoy Ohanas. It was the only reservation everyone really liked our first trip and there were 9 of us. On our last trip we ate there twice and had the same seat. We sat right by the window looking at the castle and even go to watch wishes from our seat. It was great. I really like the wings as well as dessert. DH liked the meats and DD loved the entertainment. It can get really loud at times in there. We know when we go not to expect to get our quickly. However we have always had great service.

Good Morning Everyone!!!:dance3:

Sounds like everyone's plans are coming together nicely and now we WAIT!!:hourglass

Here's a question of the day:

When do you usually put your Christmas tree up? And is it artificial or real?

I usually have mine up by the first of December. We have had an artificial one for 3 years now. If it were up to me, we would still be cutting our own and have that awesome smell of pine in our house for a month or so. When we did that, we usually put it up two weeks before Christmas. I was seriously depressed the first year we didn't get a live tree, but DH just didn't want to fool with it any more. :sad2: Still, I have wonderful memories of our family of 6 traipsing through the woods and picking out the "perfect" tree, cutting it down and later decorating it together. :santa:

Come on...tell us your stories!:mic:

We usually put up our fake tree the day after thanksgiving after I have hit all the sales. This year it will go up before that because we will be in a hotel the night before thanksgiving and on a plane to DISNEY on thanksgiving.

Anyone plan on doing Agent P missions at Epcot?

I would love to try this with DD. I think we would have alot of fun. We love Perry.

How far in advance should ME tags arrive? We have always rented a car and not used ME, so I dont know what to expect.

Someone on the POP board posted that they received them for a 12/9 arrival date. Our arrival Is 11/1 and we haven't gotten them yet. is that odd?

One of the things I love to watch for is Mickey Mail. It usually comes around 30 days prior to the trip in two different mailings. (If you got ME and are staying on property) I've never heard of anyone getting their ME tags this early. Maybe they called ME directly?:confused3

Hi we are going to akl nov 8th-17th. Can't wait. DD 10 DS 6 DH and me DW. We're from Boston

:welcome: Where are you staying? Is it a first trip?

We usually get ours up the first weekend in December and take it down after new years... usually 6-7 feet and always, always real! :santa:

Ohhh, always real. Love that!

Woohoo! I talked to my wife this morning and told her I want to spend our next trip to WDW over Halloween so I can celebrate my birthday there (my birthday is Halloween) and the kids can go to MNSSHP. She was cool with it but reminded me we would have to take both kids out of school for it. I'm ok with that as long as we don't do it all of the time. That trip will be 2 years away, but should be fun!

:cool1: Sounds like a plan! I love the MNSSHP. Just know that the one on actual Halloween is packed!;)

Next question...will the resort info packet come at about the same time as the ME tags? It feels like last time, I got the resort info packet soon than now, but of course my last trip was 3 years ago, so things change..

Thanks to everyone for all the help on here, although I dont post a lot, I do read the threads daily and have learned a lot!

Those come at the 30 day range as well. I think it's tied with final payment somehow. Don't know that for a fact, but it sort of makes sense. :scratchin

Yay! The new My Disney Experience app is available in the Play Store!
It's a great start, and I can't wait to use it on the trip. I'm hoping they hurry and add some of the features I have read about.
Anybody else use either Mobile Magic or the new one when they go? We used it last year and since we don't plan rides at all and just freewheel, it was great to be able to see wait times.

This will be our first year with a smart phone and I can't wait! I've downloaded Mobile Magic, My Disney Experience and Lines. I think I'm ready!:thumbsup2

Hey, thanks for all the responses to the question of the day. It was fun to read how everyone gets ready for the holidays.::yes:: There is no right or wrong, just how you love to do it! And some of you do it up big!! You'll LOVE how Disney does it!!

I freely admit to going a little nuts with the decorating, but even my grown "kids" love what I do. I've already started watching a Christmas Movie here and there. I will start the music in October. It's not like I skip over Halloween or Thanksgiving, but there's just nothing like Christmas time, ya know?:goodvibes

I have about 4 Christmas songs I keep on my iPod year round. I love them & don't want to only listen to them one month out of the year! =)

I hear you! I only ADMIT to listening to Christmas music starting in October!:rotfl:

I checked out that link just for fun and cannot believe Captain EO is a fastpass attraction!! Really? :confused3

Also, (to the original person who asked the question) the fastpass machines are usually located very close to the attraction. However, the Winnie the Pooh FP is close to Mickey's Philharmagic. If you don't see the FP machine for a ride, just ask a CM and they can help you.:goodvibes

morning all, hoping to get alot of disney stuff done on this fine day off

Good Morning! Have fun doing Disney stuff!!!:cool1:

Here's a question of the day:

When do you usually put your Christmas tree up? And is it artificial or real?

:mic:

We will get a real tree this year. We go to the local tree farm in late September and pick our tree out and decorate it with ribbon. Then we ususally go and pick it up on Thanksgiving. I usually keep it up until it looks like it might catch fire if you breath on it.

However this year we will be at Disney until Dec 1st so we won't be able to get our tree until the 1st week of December. Maybe that means I can keep it up longer!

I love Fall/Christmas decorations and cannot wait to decorate!
