November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

Time is FLYING away from us! :hourglass I cannot believe I'm at 79 days now. And to think I started planning slightly more than 500 days out. I already know what I need to pack, but of course it's too early to start packing! :rotfl2: When do you guys start to pack? I mean the serious packing? For those who are flying into MCO, how many pieces of luggage do you take with you?

We're at 54 days today! I've been talking about our upcoming trips so much in the carpool that one of my friends has had to book a December trip-- and her family just went in June. She called me at lunch yesterday and asked me to talk her off the ledge. She had been on the WDW site and found a good deal for early December and wanted me to talk her out of it. I told her I wouldn't because it WAS a really good deal!
I feel like I've performed a public service!

Our trip is only 55 days away! I really need to get somethings organized to make sure I have everything we need.

That's funny!! :rotfl2: Yeah. I agree! You did do her a favor!! Everyone needs a little Disney now and then!

I know what you mean!! I've made a list of all the things I will need. Info about reservations and insurance, etc. The lists gets longer and longer!

I usually don't start packing until a few days before. But then, I usually go in September and am wearing my shorts etc. right up until my trip. Since I won't still be wearing those summer clothes, I'll probably just pack them instead of putting them away for the season. It's just DH and I so we usually just have one VERY LARGE suitcase. But we're flying Southwest for the first time and don't have to pay for bags, so we'll probably each take one. I know there are some on here who have already started packing...you know who you are :rotfl:...so whatever works for you, just go ahead and do it. No judging here!:goodvibes

For those of you taking a side trip to Universal - what have you found out about tickets? Cheapest sites? Is there something similar to a "fast pass" approach for Harry Potter? Someone had told me you could pay extra for front of the line access or something like that. Wondering if there was any group info people could share. Thanks!:thumbsup2

Hi there. :) We're checking into a Universal hotel after we check out of Disney. That will take care of our Universal Express passes. However, you can indeed purchase Universal Express. You can buy it at Universal itself or online. I'm not sure how much it costs but it will take one big worry away. We opted to stay onsite simply because of this perk. There are a few rides and attractions that are not covered with the Universal Express. I believe The Forbidden Journey at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is one of them. Everyone will just have to wait in line for that. But those staying onsite will be able to enter The Wizarding World of Harry Potter an hour before the rest.

OMG...I'm reading through the last couple of pages here this morning and now I'm extra super excited! I guess we are all getting close. It was taking FOREVER to get to November but WOW! It's almost here! :cool1:

The express pass at US is expensive. We went last August and the wait in the line was as good as the ride. Don't miss going through the line at least once! I hate parks that let you buy passes like that. I like Disney's that let anyone no matter rich or poor, same chance. We live 40 min for Cedar Point in Ohio and they just started that. I feel so sorry for families that save up and then get there and can't afford express passes.

Hey ya'll. :goodvibes

Its so good to come in here an feel the excitement again!!!!!!!!! :hyper: :rotfl:

We are at 79 days too!!!:cool1: I'll probably start seriously packing when its time to put the shorts away and then finish up a week before we leave.

We have dining reservatins for 7 people and I know they add 18% for tip but how does this work if we have to pay using our key to the world cards and 2 of the people are in a different room on their own plan? Thanks for the info.

I've read in numerous places that buying the Express pass isn't usually worth it in the slower season. They usually recommend you wait until you get to the park and see how bad the crowds are before you get it, regardless. I didn't find great discounts off the tickets. I believe Undercover Tourist has a modest discount, which seems to be all you can expect.

I hate that Cedar Point added that. I can't see paying extra after you already bought tickets. We have passes so we know we can go back and hit up other rides later. Although even with that fastlane pass I still saw a huge line for the Millenium Force last weekend for those who paid extra.

Good evening everyone!! :goodvibes

Its been a weird kind of day....started out sunny and beautiful although very humid, then we got a shower and sun came out again, then this afternoon- into early evening got very dark and black outside and we are having another monster storm!! Go figure this crazy weather. So looking forward to Disney and some time away, it will be so nice to spend this time with our family. I am truly so excited.

Hope everyone has had a great day no matter what your weather has been like.

Come on Disney.......
