November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

Reposting my ADRs as I have been mulling it over and I wanted some input. Am I too "Meal Heavy" as I was wondering if Artist Point and Fulton's Crab House was just 1 "Signature Meal" too many, especially since we have character dinings plus a Fantasmic package plus we are Club Level at WL, so we have their "snack buffet" to work with as well. Also, since we are doing Epcot on the 8th, by having Fulton's on the list, we have make our way back to the hotel, and then to DTD, and we just might be too bushed at that point. Should we just drop Fulton's and either do a quick dining at Epcot/WL, or something similar if we make it to DTD?

I don't think two signature meals is too many at all, especially since your other ones are two character buffets and two lunches. I think they would be very welcome, even if they are right next to each other. In my ideal world I would do one further along in your trip, maybe even the night before. (I stubbornly see le cellier as not a signature since they didn't really change the menu at all). One sit down a day is definitely not too much in any case!

It's back to school time here so I will be around even less than usual:(

DH is holding my suitcases hostage until 30 days prior to departure. What he doesn't know is I already started packing but I just put things in 2 of those big rubbermaid containers in my office.

:rotfl2: Needed a good laugh! Thanks! :rotfl2: (They really don't have a clue, do they??)

My kids started school today also. And I went to the gym for the first time in my entire life. Ive always been 120lb even after my kids it all went right back with in a month. Well this year I turned 33 and I gain 6lbs over the summer. As my mother used to tell me as I would eat like a teenage boy "you'll get yours little girl" :rotfl: Its caught up to me :( booo I hate working out.

My youngest is in school M W F so my goal is to go on the days she is in school. I think that should be enough activity to get this unwanted gain in check.

You're smart to get the 6 pounds off and not let it build up. I was always thin, but somehow I went from being under weight to being over weight. I totally missed the time when I was "perfect"!:rotfl:

i was wondering the same thing. I dont have anything really disney to say so i feel like the akward person standing in a group that wants to be there but isnt contributing very much to the convo so everyone just kinds of ignores LOL

It doesn't have to be Disney related. You've been so busy keeping up with all the changes and updates and new folks, I would think you would be so burned out by now. We really do appreciate all you do for us, keeping our friendly thread alive!:flower3:

I've been lurking this morning. Checked out what y'all were saying while walking my daughter to school this morning. We're into our second week already here in Texas.

On a Disney related note, my wife found a few more Disney Parks documentaries on Netflix that she has added to our streaming queue. :yay: This is another fun thing that we can watch with the kids without tipping them off to the trip. Still can't wait to see their faces when they realize we are going this year.

To generate a topic today I'll ask the group this:

What do you think is the perfect Disney trip length?

Personally for me about 6-7 days of actual park/resort time is the wheel house that I hunt for. Keep a day or two on each end of the trip for travel and unwinding that doesn't involve any parks. Gives us time to see just about everything without really feeling rushed. :thumbsup2

I have all those documentaries on my instant queue as well. Whenever I want to "be" there, I just pick one out and enjoy. :goodvibes

As far as perfect Disney trip length, DH and I go 8 days almost always. This time we're going 9 days and I'm really looking forward to that extra day. During the holidays, we like to resort hop and check out all the decorations. But we always go to the parks every single day we're there. We get park hoppers, so we can go wherever we want to go. We only have one TS meal a day (if that) so we are not tied to a tight schedule. We do a park, then maybe DTD, mini golf, water parks, pool etc. We do at least one full day at each park, then just whatever we feel like from then on.

We did only do 4 nights 5 days when we took our DGD last April, and that seemed just enough for her first visit. Of course that's the reason we're going again...we didn't get to do all the things we love to do that trip since it was all about our little one!:goodvibes

I think it looks really good. Not too meal heavy. You've selected ADRs that make perfect sense with your day/evening plans.:thumbsup2 BTW, going to MVMCP twice? :cheer2:

Me too! And I want a souvenir mug as well! Thanks for the links. I'm really anxious to see all the new things that will be open for our visits!:rainbow: I hope Test Track opens on schedule as well!!!::yes:::drive:

Up until now its always been 4-5 days and we always feel so rushed with just one day per park.. this trip we will be there six days before we cruise, so we will see if the extra time really does help!

bwith those 6 days are you still commando or are you slowing down a little? Its gonna be hard to keep a slower pace because my kids keep wanting to do more more more

I packed two suitcases yesterday...they are small ones, but they're packed!

aw thanks! I really have fun doing it my with all my stuff in real life going on, something had to go for a bit. BUT Im back!:hyper: lucky you guys!:duck: :lmao:

The best WDW trip we ever had was 10 nights. We got to really relax and enjoy the parks and outside the park stuff without feeling rushed or stressed.

Our "normal" trip is 6 or 7 days- fun, but I always feel like we don't have enough time to do everything we want. 10 days was wonderful- hope to be able to do another long trip soon.

I would say commando for sure! We do have a slower morning one day, but will likely either go to BB or just DTD and ONLY because that is the night we are doing MNSSHP! (on Halloween! I'm over the moon about that at least!) :hyper:

Yes! We won't be back until late in 2014 likely but probably won't do a cruise so we will have more time to stay in WDW.

One night we are doing the Wanyama Safari at AKL and I'm hoping that afterwards we can go do some mini golf, then our last night we are going to drive up into Orlando to have what is supposedly the best Peruvian one of my husbands coworkers has ever had (he is EXCEEDINGLY picky and hard to have a meal with but was born and raised in Peru so we really want to try it!). I'm glad we are doing some stuff out of the parks for sure.

Yes, we are doing 2 MVMCPs. I think had I known better last time, we would have done 2 MNSSHP in 2010, having been our first time. This gives us an extra shot in case we miss characters for photos, etc

I guess you kind of nailed one of my concerns on the head. Yes, it looks good for our schedule, but are we pushing ourselves too hard that Thursday by trying to do Epcot and then get over to DTD all in the same day, and at that point, will we enjoy our meal?

Starting to get upset with additional attraction closures during our trip at the end of November. My kids love the Honey I shrunk the Kids play set. It is now closed thru November 30. The studio backlot tour is also closed thru November 30.

Are you going to Epcot for F&W that day? If so, I don't think I would do Fulton's that night unless you really like to put it away... :scratchin

Agreed! I wonder if they bumped these up to offset some of the crowds from the FLE debut? I can imagine they want the parks PERFECT during that time...

i see the closing list and it says Backlot is thru the 17th and HISTK is thru 16th

Here's another question for the veteran Nov-ites. November 18th there will be EMH at MK until 1am. Will the crowds be lighter on November 19th in the morning as a result? :confused3

Just paid the trip off!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:
Nine glorious nights w/DxDP at the WL is ours......all ours!!:banana::banana:
