Ok which week gives us the best chance at a discount, do you think? Our dates are flexible as long as its after October 20th. Is anyone else booking their dates praying they get a discount? I'm not sure we will be able to keep our trip if we don't get a discount!

We are all hoping and praying for a discount. :goodvibes Hubby and I always go the Saturday/Sunday after Thanksgiving. And we have always had some type of discount.

What time frame works best for your family?

Someone on here was saying something about the first week of November...that there was something going on...jersey week? or something like that. IF I can "sweet" talk hubby into a WDW trip again next year I want to be there for the christmas decos and I"m thinking the second week of November (as long as we can swim during the day and possibly in the evening) then it's good!:) Is there a website that says what's going on during certain weeks?

@ Mommy3 - I hope you are feeling better. We have some bad neighbors also. They told DH we were unneighborly because we didn't want their dog pooping in our yard, nor their son peeing on our house. Yeah, we're the bad neighbors.

As for me, I hit Target this morning to get cat food and found they had retro Disney planners in the dollar spot. I got a Mickey Mouse monthly planner (big one, like 8X11) and a small Mickey and Minnie pocket planner. I figure I can keep one in my purse and one with the other planning supplies. Hopefully I can put payment reminders in there so we can get the trip paid off easily. Anywho, they also have Princesses magnetic dry erase boards so I got one for our resort door. Yay! I also found the cutest Disney Princess barrette tree on Etsy that I want to pick up a tree for. I figure it's a cute window decoration AND way to store bows while we are there. With two girls, we have a lot of bows...

One more reason for me to stop by Target this week. :thumbsup2

Saying goodbye to my new-found November friends, as my husband says that November is really not a good time for him to be away from work. Now, we're either looking at hot June or taking our 8th grader (or will be) out of school. DH thinks we should take him out of school the week before Christmas break next year, but I just don't know the wisdom in taking older kids out of school. Tough decisions to be made...
I really did like my little November spot, and am very sorry to have to leave it! Hope all of your November trips turn out fantastic!!

I know everyone has their own opinions, but personally, I have no issue with taking a child out of school for a week if (1) my child is doing well in school, and (2) it won't affect their grades. The only problem I see with the week before Christmas is that a lot of schools, ours included, take their final exams for the semester that week.

Happy, happy morning here. Hubby just got a rockin' bonus at work for completing another semester of college and that will put a nice little dent into our balance. Yay!

And yay for new November '12 visitors!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I think any week in November except the week of Thanksgiving has a good chance of a discount.

I know I saw a calendar somewhere, but I can't find it. Maybe someone else will be of more help.

WELCOME!!! to all the new people!! It's going to be a great month for Disney!!

My boss leaves for Disney on Saturday, and I've pretty much done all of the planning for her. I spent a couple hours with her yesterday going over everything. I sure hope she has a good trip. If not, I'm sure I'll hear about it! :lmao:

Hope everyone is having a good week. I'm off Friday for Veteran's day so it's a short week for me. I've got a mile long list of stuff to do, but I'm hoping to finish my Christmas shopping that day. :santa:

We are going to be there Nov 23 till Dec 1 2012 at POFQ. First time there and I am very excited. :cool1: It has been 10 years since we were there.
:welcome: I will add you :)

Hi! I just found you guys and haven't had a chance to read through ALL 60 pages :surfweb::eek:.

But here I am! Please add me to the list. It will be DH, myself, DD 12, and DD 8 when we go. So far the plan is Nov 1st - 8th. We'll see as the time to book flights gets here. BTW...anyone know when that time opens for SW? So happy to be here!! :cool1:

:welcome: I will add you to our group:)

I do hope you get over this quickly without any additional problems.

I think you are going to be happy that you changed things. The taping of the parade takes a long time. They are always getting different takes. So they are stopping and starting constanly. It is also VERY crowded on Main Street. Once you get past Main Street it does thin out. I know lots and lots of people love being apart of this. We did it once and as much as we love Disney at Christmas.......Well, you get the idea. :)

You lost 40 lbs?! Good for YOU! How did you do it? That's awesome!!!!

Yes, another day closer! WOOHOO!! My cousin is there now and I hear the parks are pretty busy this week. Anyone going Jersey week?

We will be in Walt Disney World staying at the POP November 2nd through the 9th. This will be my DS first time :cool1: and we will also be celebrating his 3rd B-Day :cool1:

Hi and welcome to the craziness!! :dance3:It's never to soon to plan for Disney. :goodvibes

Well, I'm home during the day so this isn't a good thing. :confused3 DS got sick a preschool so I had to pick him up. I gave him a quick shower to clean him up, fixed him lunch, and now he is playing is DS. He seems fine to me. I guess that means I get a little Disney time, right? :woohoo:

Oh my! :scared1: I sure hope you heal quickly.

I like your new schedule. We just happened to be there during the taping of Mariah Carey's performance last year. It was neat, but I wouldn't want to spend our day doing that.

We will be in Walt Disney World staying at the POP November 2nd through the 9th. This will be my DS first time :cool1: and we will also be celebrating his 3rd B-Day :cool1:

Welcome!!

So you all know that we originally planned to stay at the POP. That's where we stayed last time, and we really enjoyed the resort. Since there are 5 of us including DMIL, we got two connecting rooms, and it worked out great. We were going to do the same thing this time, but DMIL offered to pay the difference to upgrade to a Deluxe resort so we chose the Poly. With the extra daybed I thought it would be perfect.

The problem is my DMIL snores like a freight train, God bless her. DH reminded me how I had to close the door between the rooms last year because DMIL kept me and the kids up. I had totally forgotten about that. I don't think we can handle her snoring for a week in the same room. I really wanted to stay at the Poly, but DH promised me we could stay there another time when it's just us.

So... now I have to decide where to stay. We need two rooms, so my choices are the Art of Animation, the POP again, or a moderate resort. I looked at the AoA suites, but I don't know if I like the idea of sofa bed or a table/bed.

Any thoughts, suggestions or opinions on other resorts would be greatly appreciated.

ETA: I looked at all the moderate resorts, and none of them thrill me. I'm not interested in the Port Orleans because I live so close to New Orleans. I'd really like the AoA, but their regular rooms (not suites) don't open until Dec 2012. What are the chances they will open early?

Cabins @ Ft. Wilderness???
All Star Music Family suites?? sleep up to 6

Actually, the AoA table/bed reminds me of a murphy bed. At least I think that is what they are called. It might actually be more comfy that a sofa bed. That bar across the middle alway hurts on those things!

Good Luck!

Another option would be a 1 or 2 bedroom at one of the DVC resorts. We rent DVC points for AKV...nowhere near as expensive as you might think.

I second this. :thumbsup2 Have you priced this option out yet? Then you would have a full kitchen with a washer/dryer. And a 2 bedroom would give you 2 bathrooms. Good luck with whatever ya'll decide. :goodvibes

I haven't looked into renting points because I like the free dining plan too much, but if you are ok without that, then that is a good option.

We are a party of five and stay at POR. I don't love it, but its the cheapest option for us. Personally I would either try a cabin or the family suites at All Stars if I needed two rooms, though that means your kids may be stuck in the same room as MIL!

Good morning!!!!! :goodvibes I am actually starting to feel better. I was gonna say it yesterday BUT I wanted to make sure I wasnt just reading more into it;) Hopefully this antibiotic is working( I really think it is) :worship: and I can start getting things ready for our trip and getting things back to normal around my house. Those of you who have ever had thins problem, you know how you feel well because of that, I havent done any laundry and barely any cleaning....slept all last weekend so now I guess I should grin and bare my dirty house and do some :laundy: before I end up single :lmao: no really, my DH understands(as much as he can)how I feel. I no longer wanna rip my insies out so that is a good sign! :goodvibes Thanks for all the well wishes!!! :cloud9: You guys are the best :cloud9: I have been looking at the updates for this years MVMCP :santa: and trying to get a list together on what to pack!
