Thanks. I am hoping the antibiotics work soon UGH!!! I am still looking forward to my Disney trip and getting to our 1 year mark for the BIG NOVEMBER TRIP!!! :yay:

Hey everyone!!! :goodvibes I've been so busy lately that I haven't had much time to stop by. Boy, do I miss y'all! Funny how you get used to "talking" to people you don't even know each day! :surfweb:

ok so last night I broke out in this horrible rash! It looks like little pimples and doesnt itch or burn. Its kind of just there....hmmmm. I hope it goes away soon,Im doing the whole benedryl hydrocortisone thing but its not helping. Oh well.

I am thinking about canceling the Holiday sleigh ride. I am starting to wonder if I have scheduled too many things on our short 4 day trip! I wanna enjoy the parks!

Oh NO! I hope you feel better!! :goodvibes

You definitely need to take some time to relax! Not doing everything gives you a reason to go back!! :woohoo:

It won't be long before Disney starts putting the Christmas decorations up. Just thinking about it makes me feel giddy.

Me too!! :santa:

So I was at the Dollar Tree and they have Disney Christmas window clings. We decorated our window for Halloween this last time and I was wondering if Christmas clings were appropriate the first week in November in Disney? We do plan on going to the Christmas party, so I figured it would be cute. I'm wondering if it isn't tacky, if I should go load up now. As it is, I bought four sheets just for my home. :woohoo:

Definitely NOT tacky! Great idea! I've been thinking about window decorations too, but I couldn't think of what to do. I wanted something that would be easy to pack. I know where I'm going tomorrow!! Dollar Tree here I come! :woohoo:

WOOHOO It's NOvember :) I plan on watching everyone's current trip reports so I know what to expect next year, especially in the crowds area

Great idea! I hadn't thought about reading November trip reports to get ideas! We went last November so I know what to expect crowd wise, but it will be interesting seeing what other people do at that time of the year.

I think I'm going to occupy this month and next with planning my window for the trip since I can pick up holiday stuff now to put away. That will be distracting, right?:santa:

Me too!!! :santa:

Yay! Today makes one year for us!!!! :cool1::cheer2:

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

So here's my question for everyone... when do you put up your Christmas tree?

We usually put it up Thanksgiving weekend, but I'm thinking of putting it up a week early this year. We don't have anything going on that Saturday (one of the few free days between now and New Years).

Soooo... Tuesday I turned 40, and yesterday I found out I have to have a hysterectomy. :sad2: I'm debating on when to have it. The only day before the end of year they have available is December 14th, which is the same day as DS's very 1st preschool Christmas program. That happens to be the day before DD's 1st field trip of the year, which I've already offered to chaperone and paid for my ticket. Then the 16th is both DS and DD's school Christmas parties - one is in the morning and one in the afternoon so I promised to go to both of them. I'll be in the hospital for 3 days and would miss everything. DD and DS are out of school for 3 weeks at Christmas and I promised to take a week off, and do something fun with them each day... crafts, a movie, going to the park, making Christmas cookies, etc. I was looking forward to it as much as they were. If I have the surgery, I'd be home with them, but I'm not sure how much I'd feel like doing. On the other hand, I've already met my yearly deductible, and wouldn't have to pay a penny for the surgery, hospital stay or follow up visits.

My other option is to have it in January, pay $1050 out of pocket for my deductible, and enjoy the holidays! I hate to pay $1050 if I don't have to. That is a huge chunk that could go towards Disney, but I really, really want to be able to enjoy the holidays with my kids. I've really been looking forward to spending quality time with them. I just don't think I can miss my DS's Christmas program or their parties. It would break my heart more than theirs.

Chances are I'll meet my deductible again next year (as I do every year) so I might as well get it over with in January, right?

Oh, and I just thought of something else! That would give me 6 weeks to plan our Disney trip!!! Wooohooo!

I would do it in January. If you have already promised the kids that you would do things. I know its a big chunk for disney BUT they will be dissapointed. :goodvibes

I second this...

And I'm sending some pixie dust your way, and hopefully your stress stuff will go down a bit :wizard:

The one concept we live by: money is money but childhood memories last forever. I'd do it in January. I will probably be in your shoes before too long. I'm only 30 but we have hereditary issues in my family and my mother had her first partial in her mid thirties.

As far as a tree, we will do it the day after Thanksgiving. My husband would put it up Christmas Eve if he could though..

Our Christmas decorations are coming out this weekend. I'm already a week behind in doing this.

Happy Birthday.......party:

And Happy Hysterectomy. :goodvibes I know that sounds funny. But having mine was a good experience. :thumbsup2 I'm just sorry my doctor waited so long.

If I don't have company on Thanksgiving weekend than I normally do it then, but that rarely happens, I'm either traveling or someone is traveling here so it normally gets done the weekend before Thanksgiving :)
Hmmm if it was me I'd do it in December, but that would only be because I'm not working so we don't make a whole lot of money, we'd have to cancel our Disney trip if that happened, SO i say go ahead and do it in January if you've been meeting your deductible every year anyways ;)

As we all start to approach our 1 year marks......does anyone have a timeline for planning. I have read that some people have a rubber maid tote that they start to toss things into. I know I am starting to think about the 2012 planning guides. I have them all but I LOVE new ones.

I really need to get busy and post pictures of my journal. I'm always collecting those little tidbits of info about the resort and all the parks.

I'm open to any planning resources. I've been tucking little things into our huge suitcase to prepare. I bought window stuff yesterday at the dollar tree for next year. A Mickey stocking and window clings. We are recycling a lot of this past year's trip's items so i have that all packed together too. But, I'd love a timeline.

Man I am so behind!!!! I havent even finished my trip journals because my scrapbook stuff is down stairs in the basement thats still undr construction :lmao: Not much longer hopefully, DH has been spackling so soon I can paint. Anyway, I have been focused on the weight loss thig-I set my goal at 40pounds before I left and have just about met that. I would like to have the journals done by the time I make ADR's. The one problem is that I hear MVMCP tickets go on sale May 1st, when do park hours come out??? I need to know that and MVMCP days to finish scheduling. I have my work cut out for me over the winter :cool1: I love doing it though.

Last year we went for the MNSSHP so I cant re-use alot since it was Halloween themed lol I need to check out the dollar store!!! I could wait til next year BUT my luck I will be too excited to go find stuff last minute :goodvibes

A timeline well I have my planners done by May 1st
Adr's booked on May 14th(180 window opens)
By the end of May, pick MVMCP day and buy tickets
I want to get a flight right when they become available BUT w/o having a discount or FD I am not sure if I should wait. Is it worth it to shorten your Disney trip to get FD???? I am not sure yet. I hope I am not forced with that descision :headache:

I have decided to wait until January... January 11th to be exact. DS's birthday is the following week, so we will probably push is party back a week, but I'll be able to enjoy the holidays with my kids. I totally agree with the PP who said memories are worth more than money.

Happy Birthday.......party:

And Happy Hysterectomy. :goodvibes I know that sounds funny. But having mine was a good experience. :thumbsup2 I'm just sorry my doctor waited so long.

Thank you! And I've heard that alot about hysterectomies. I'm nervous as heck, but I have to get it done.

No timeline, but since I'll be home for six weeks I'll be doing my planning then. I'll make ADRs at exactly 180 days out. I have planning spreadsheets that I will convert to planning pages. I'll share pictures once I'm done. I've got a box that I put all my Disney stuff in.

Well, gotta run. It's movie night and we are watching Cars 2 with the kids.

My day for ADR's is May 28th. I feel like I'm gearing up for a big race. :rotfl2: I want LeCieller is the worse way. :lovestruc

mommyof3......what would you think about starting a list where we can share tried and true tips? I'm for anything to make all of our trips that much more successful. :thumbsup2

That sounds wonderful!:goodvibes let me know what you wanna put on the first page and Ill put it there:)

While we were out today I got DH stop by the good Dollar Tree since we passed right by it. DH and the kids stayed in the car so I didn't get to look around too much, but I did manage to get the Disney window clings. I picked up the Cars2, Mickey & Minnie, Winnie the Pooh, and Princess ones. Plus I got a few generic Christmas ones.

DH got some LED glow sticks from ebay. They light up and change colors like the ones at Disney do, but they cost only $2 each including shipping. Those are in my Disney box also.

I've noticed some are asking about airfares. We are driving, but there was something in one of my magazines I thought I'd share... The cheapest airfares are posted 3 1/2 months prior to travel date. The best days to purchase airfares are Tues, Wed, and Thurs, with Tuesday at 3pm being the best. I didn't mention the time zone! It also mentioned that clearing the cookies in your browser will help ensure you get the best rate possible. Like I said, we aren't flying so I have no idea if this is true or not, but I thought I'd share. Hope it helps someone.

Smileybug mentioned planning guides so I'm wondering what guides everyone reads.

Well, I'm off to do something Disney productive. :)

We just decided to go back to Disney for Thanksgiving 2012! Looking forward to following this thread!

Last year I had a 3 ring binder that I kept everything in. It was sorted by days, and each day had sheet protectors that contained our itinerary, ADR confirmation numbers, meal invitations, tip envelopes, MVMCP tickets, etc. I liked the binder and will do that again, but I didn't like having our daily itinerary on such a large piece of paper.

Soo... I have decided to make little 4 x 6 albums ($1 plastic albums from Walmart), and put all of our itinerary information in it. It will be small enough to fit in my cross body purse, but will have all the information we need. I've been working on Day 1, and here it is. I got the design from one of the DISigners on these boards. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The next page will contain all of our ADR numbers, and other information. I'm also going to make one for my DMIL. I think it will be a cute keepsake for her.

There is another DISigner with cute pages for planning... financial, travel, resort, etc. I love  all of the wonderful DISigner stuff on this site.

We are planning a Thanksgiving trip for 2012 as well. We are going to go Nov 16-24th. Can't wait!!!
