November 2011 car rentals

Bumping up. I am going to need something Nov 4 - Nov 13. Just two of us and luggage, so I will be watching this thread for codes. I started looking today, but the prices were so scarey I quit looking. :scared1:

Thank you for the codes! My Costco code gave us $600 for a minivan and we went down to $300 with the codes provided. Woo!

I got $346 for a minivan 11/26-12/3

This is our first trip so I'm a little green.
Can anyone tell me or direct me to a thread on the best way to paying tolls between MCO & WDW when getting a rental car? There was a disclaimer on my receipt from Budget saying you must either us a Sunpass or the Budget e-toll. I had read that rental companies charge a large fee for using their charge processing. :confused3

I have not used Budget, but my experience has been as long as you pay cash and DO NOT go through the EZpass lanes(or whatever they call it down there) you will not be charged. I made sure I got receipts for every toll and held them for several months once I got home, just in case I got billed by the state for some reason.

I would call Budget and ask them exactly how they work it. I don't remember which company it was, but one of them didn't tell me anything. I was almost at the first toll and noticed the little sticker that said they would bill me daily even if not used, etc. I pulled over to call them and got no answer, so I paid cash and drove back to the airport to get my answer. Didn't trust the guy, so he gave me his name and id number just in case. I had no issues, but I was new to it also and worried I would get this huge bill after my trip.

On a side note: I still need a good code for a compact for early Nov. Anyone have a deal they can share? I don't "need" a car, but really want one.

just used carrentalsavers.com and got a full size at enterprise for nov 2nd thru nov 11th for $284. seems like a decent price compared to everything else I've seen but much higher than what I've paid for past trips. would prefer to use alamo but they are way more expensive. any other good deals out there??:confused3

I pulled out my Entertainment book today and even with it, could not get much below $200 for a compact! I am very spoiled, having only paid $100-$125 for the last 3 years and last year I had something from the Emerald Isle.

If there ends up being no discount on the trip, the car will have to go. I would rather have the money for food since I don't "have" to have a car. If I end up with free dining, I might consider a car, but it's going to be hard to accept at the prices I have seen.:scared1:

Use Corporate Discount code oi1054 for a special discount from Dollar. Good in Florida only. Source: Orlando Magicard. Just in case, I would recommend taking a Magicard with you when you pick up the car. Click here to download a FREE Orlando Magicard instantly online. Thanks to Wanda for info.

Good luck!

I just booked a premium car with Budget for 11/4 -11/9. The weekly rate is $149 and with fees/taxes the total is $209. The system accepted my $40 off coupon but I don't think that gets applied until the time of rental so my final total should be $169.

I used this link: https://www.budget.com/budgetWeb/htm...KN_wendie81122

Now I just want to figure out how to sign up for the Rapid Rez to make it easier when we pick up the car.

Thanks for the info-

I used the codes:

code x474200 and coupon code muwz023

today and got a mini van for $298.88 total. Does anyone know if we have to show anything for the coupons at the counter? I have never had a person at Alamo request any ID/coupon but not sure about Budget.

BTW, I have been trying everything for the past week for dates 11/4-11/10 and could not get the price under $530 anywhere!! So I am thrilled!

which rental car agency? This is a great price Are these codes for anyone?

I have the same rate, which is a horrible rate, by the way. Keep checking the boards here and hopefully it will go down. They usually do but you have to keep an eye on it.

Just saw a commercial for Budget Rental Cars and they are offering $149 for a intermediate SUV - not sure how many people that seats - also I believe $129 for a compact. Rates are for a week. Great deal!!

I used the priceline name-your-own-price deal a few months ago for my trip this Nov. 11/1-11/14: $350, mid-size through Hertz. I thought this was a pretty good rate :goodvibes

I can't find this online. Can anyone else?

@ CaptHomer

:rotfl2: I did get a minivan over Easter week a few months ago for around $225, so yes it higher than I would like but since I debated on using ME too long, I didn't think I could get it under $300.

Please post if you find something less and I will do the same!! I know Alamo has great rates the week before travel, but I didn't want to take the chance since my mother in law is involved on this trip- can't have it starting off badly right from MCO :thumbsup2
