NOVEMBER 2008 Code Watch...

If anyone is staying at Pop during November, we have a new fridge/coffeemaker swap that just started and have serveral dates still available. It would save you the $12/night fee that POP charges. If interested please PM me or post to our thread.

Sounds great we will be arriving the same day. I have already booked through AAA and saved a couple $100, and if a better code or discount comes along I can call my TA and try to book that. I am hoping those first couple of days are not real busy. We will be going to the MVMCP that first night.:thumbsup2

I was thinking of staying at POP but reading about specials and some have mentioned specials in Nov. if i could stay and a mod resort for almost the same price, which MOd resort would be a great one to stay at? does each Mod. resort have their own busline or do they stop at each resort? I liked that POP was cheaper and had their own bus.

To those of you who got past nov specials was it a % off and was it at a value or mod?

We have always stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort, except one stay at OKW, and for the most part we love it! They do have buses that only go through CBR and no other resorts if that's what you mean. They have a nice food court with some variety, though not a huge variety, but good food usually, and lots of swimming. Last Nov. we got a code on a flyer that came in mid Aug or so. I don't know the exact % off but we got a room for one adult and one teen, 2 park hoppers and stayed 10 nights and it was about $1600, whereas without the % off, it would have been about $2200. If we just went with base tickets, meaning no hopping it would have been about $1500. I thought it was a great deal!! And, I'm hoping we get another one this year cause we plan on going in Nov again this year! :woohoo:

how was the weather last year in Nov? I'm not sure about the water passes I'm on the fence about it. First time being in Florida and hope the weather is nice not to hot or humid

I am thinking of a trip in Nov. but it would be the 30th Nov. for us through to Dec. 15th. We would want to miss the Thanksgiving crowds and really loved the Christmas theming and festivities. I can't say how the weather was last Nov. but we arrived just after Thanksgiving in 2006 and it was lovely :goodvibes ! Cool and crisp some days but not too much, and the pools were always pretty full at the Pop :). We had a lovely trip and got a code at some point but I don't think we saved all that much. Hopefully if all goes well this year will be different :thumbsup2 !

Well, the last two years the weather in Nov was pretty good. :thumbsup2 Nov 9-19 '06, we were there about 10 days. The first few days were warm, but not too, though a bit humid. After that, the nights were a bit chilly so I bought a sweatshirt jacket. And no rain to speak of, so pretty near perfect. Though, wish the nights were more balmy/warm.

Nov '07, 8-17, again we were about 10 days. The first weekend was nice, a bit cooler than the year before and not humid. But starting Mon the days were still nice, but the nights got very chilly/ even cold. Was okay Mon night though as it fit the mood at the MVMCP with the snow on Main Street, lol! As the week went on the days were okay but could have been a bit warmer/balmier, but the nights were really cold and often windy. And, not much rain, just a bit of sprinkling in Thur. Then on the Friday, it barely got into the sixties all day and was pretty windy with an unexpected cold front the news talked about all week. The next day, it was beautiful, really lovely, but of course we were leaving that day!

Anyway, I'd say, all in all, Nov weather is pretty good with decent temperatures during the day and not much rain. Combine that with low crowd size on the week days, so short lines, and some good discounts in the last couple years, and that makes for a great Disney Nov. vacation!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the info. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for nice weather(nov. 15-22) and good deals!

I can't remember when the codes for Nov '07 came out. I am waiting for a room only code for Nov. '08. We are staying one night to go to MVMCP before we go on a (non disney) cruise. We are booked at POP right now, but I would love a code to come out so I could bump up to a deluxe!!!!

We are planning on going Nov. 28th to Dec. 7th This is the week after Thanksgiving. Can anyone help me with some questions.

1. Weather How is it? We are bad in the heat more so the humidity.
2. Crowds - Are they bad or do they taper off?
3. Codes- Do you think they will come out for this week?
4. Is there anything I should know going ahead with planning?

Thanks for your help!

We went first week of December 2006. Weather was great. Not really hot enough to swim. I know we usually wore long pants but I have pictures where the girls have their pants rolled up to the knees so it got warm at times. We didn't need coats except for late evening. The day we left though it was in the 40's.

Crowds were moderate I guess, not bad but not great.

Codes came out for that time period in 2006, except our exact dates, Dec 2-9 were blacked out. Pop Warner week I guess. Since you are starting a little earlier, maybe there's hope!

Just wanted to let the November people know that we have days open in our newly forming Pop Century fridge swap. Details are on the budget board, or click the link in my signature.

1. Hi! The last 2 yrs we went the second week of Nov for 10 days and will again this year! :yay: I hate the heat and humidity so I love this time of yr. It was low 70's to low 80's (at the most) when we were there. Actually, it cold have been a bit more balmy some days but... anyway, the weather was great both years. Nothing more than a sprinkle of rain. Now, some evenings in '07 were definitely cold, and one day was a big cold front and it got no higher than 60 daytime and windy! But, heat and humidity were not a problem either yr. :cool2:

2. These days it's just my DD17 and I and we love going this time of yr, crowds are great. :thumbsup2 We go for super soap weekend at hollywood studios, so for that weekend, 2nd of Nov, it is crowded at that park. Food and Wine Festival closes that same weekend at Epcot so that is probably pretty busy. Then we stay the week after and crowds are fairly low. Not too much wait time for attractions, often walk on or maybe 10-15 min wait, so that is great! And it's great cause you don't have to try to manuever around tons of people in crowded parks. The weekend is more crowded though, and weekend before Thanksgiving and the week of is very crowded. We were almost glad to be leaving then! Can't stand too much crowds and waiting 45 - 60 min for an attraction is so not for us! But, after that weekend after Thanksgiving things do drop off again for a couple weeks until Xmas week.

Another thing we love about that time is the MVMCP(Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party) at MK. The last 2 yrs they started the Monday after we arrived and we had a great time! We thought the mon. party was not crowded at all and we just walked on rides we wanted for the most part. A couple things are closed but I don't know which cause everthing we wanted was open! We also went Fri and that was a bit more crowded but not still not terrible. We went to the park after 4, using our party ticket and stayed till close at midnight. The parties are 3 nights a week then, like Mon, Th and Fri, I think. We love the xmas party and the fun holiday atmosphere then. Plus, the Osbourne family xmas lights open that week at DHS and love those too!:santa:

3. The last few yrs they sent out a code in Mid Aug I think for that time. Last yr it saved us about $600 for a mod. room at CBR and 2 hoppers for 10 days!! I was shocked actually when I called, I'd always booked seperately thinking, stupidly, that the packages would cost more and not be cost effective. What was I thinking? :rotfl: You can go to Mousesavers.com and check, they have a listing there of the deals that have been released in past years, what they were and when they were for. I expect they will put one out this yr too. Plus, if you have AAA, you can usually get a discount 10 - 20% if all else fails. Try calling to see if there is a code attached to your name every so often too, you never know! :wizard:

4. You should probably go ahead and book now if you can so you get the resort you want. Then, when a code or discount comes out you can apply it to your existing reservations! Also, make your ADR(advance dining reservations) when you can, starting at 180 days out from your dates. I usually haven't done that myself and I've still been okay, sometimes with walkups or ressies on the end of the available times which is okay for us. We are more late night people anyway, so late breakfast or brunch works well for us as well as late dinners. So, we did okay with 2 month ADR timing but you may definitely want to get better times good for your family asap and then not worry about that. popcorn:: Oh, and try not to overplan every minute. Be aware of the park schedules, such at EMH (extra magic hours), MVMCP(get tickets for this if you want to go), parade times, park opening and closing times, etc. But don't plan every second. Leave time for spontenaity, or changes that come up, or w.e. :goodvibes

Oh yeah, and plan on having a great time!! :cool1:

P.s. sorry to be so wordy, but hopefully there is some info in there you can use!

We have gone for the last three years for Thanksgiving and have always gotten a special that comes out at this time. I think it was August that it comes out every year. We will be going November 23-December 1st this year. Can't come fast enough for me!

I am going from 11/21 - 11/28. What kind of discounts have they had in the past during this time?
