NOVEMBER 2007 - Who's going? :)

We will be there from 8 - 22 November staying at the GF and sailing on the Wonder for 4 nights on the 11th November!:)

Going 11/26-12/2...so excited!!! I think we made up our mind and staying at Pop. I think this is going to be a great time to go! :goodvibes

This posting has me worried about "Jersey Week." Will it be as crowded as a Spring Break weekend? I am from California and thought I was being "clever" in missing the crowds by booking November 2-10 at the Poly & WL and November 10-17 on the Disney Eastern Cruise, but did I make a terrible mistake? Would you recommend that I change my dates?

Did I already post??? I can't remember. We will be there October 31-November 14. I am so excited and think about this trip on a daily basis...it is going to be soooo much fun :)

Me, Me Me :dance3:
We leave here 28November and stay for 28 fun filled nights. Flights are booked and paid for, deposit for accommodation is paid (Windsor Hills).
We were going to go in September but after seeing a Disney Christmas show on Discovery Travel, we changed our minds.

we wondering the same thing? I can't seem to find out what jersey week is and if that means large crowds? Maybe someone can help answer that for us.

"Jersey Week" is the week when lots of families from NJ come to WDW. They have an annual Teachers' Convention that is the same week as Election Day. The kids get off school for Election Day, and 2 days for the convention, leaving only 2 days they go to school that week. Some NJ school districts designate those 2 days as parent/teacher conference days, so the kids have no school that week.

This year, Election Day is Tuesday, 11/6, and the NJ Teachers Convention is Thur, 11/8 through Sat, 11/10. You'll see lots of NJ folks at WDW starting Sunday, 11/4 through Sun, 11/11. The busiest days of Jersey Week tend to be the latter half of the week into the weekend (this year, 11/8 to 11/11).

The crowds aren't awful, but it is more crowded than the rest of November normally is (except for T'giving, of course). Still much less crowded than Spring Break, summer, or holidays. As long as you have a plan, get to the parks at opening, use FPs, and don't mind meeting lots of nice folks from NJ, you should be fine.

We went during the busiest half of Jersey Week in 2004, and we still had an awesome time. Our longest waits were 40 mins for Kilimanjaro Safari at 1 pm on a Friday, and 40 mins for The Great Movie Ride at 11 am on Friday. Everything else was 20 mins or less (we used FPs for the really popular rides).

Thank you so much for explaining this to me. It doesn't sound so bad after all. Even though we will be there 11/3-12 right in the middle of it. Last 2 years we went during free dining and it got pretty crowded during end of our stay but still decent.

Thanks again.:goodvibes

one more question

do they stay at certain resorts or just anywhere? we are staying at POP and didn't know if they tend to stay at value resort?

Well, it's not like everyone from NJ is in one tour group or anything;) - you'll find NJ folks at all the different WDW resorts, as well as wherever else people who come to WDW stay- timeshares, offsite resorts, motels, etc.

Dont' worry about it- or, as the NJ folks would say, "Fuggedaboudit!!"- you'll have a great time, wherever you stay. :cool1:

Thank you for the clarification on "Jersey Week." Sounds like fun for the Jersey students. I guess we will keep our reservations and try to apply all the suggestions from other DISboard members.

We'll be there 11/4-11/10. Hopefully staying at BCV or BWV. Can't wait four our first F&W Fest!!! I guess we'll make lots of friends from NJ that week!! :goodvibes

We just got back from an 8 day trip to Disney- stayed at Saratoga Springs, Boardwalk, and Beachclub. We are from Maine and this was our 3rd trip to Disney World in 12 months!! We are all booked and paid to go again on November 24th for 7 nights, staying at the Beachclub. My friends and co-workers think we are NUTS!!

I went with my parents 2 years ago during "Jersey Week" because even though I am from NH, we had almost the entire week off from school for Vetern's day and teacher workshops.

We arrived on a Tuesday and left on Saturday. When we first got there it wasn't too bad, but as the week went on it got a little bit more crowded than we had expected it to be. On Friday MK was insane and hardly got to do anything because the lines were extremely long! We did everything we wanted to at MGM and Epcot though.

Overall the crowds were not too bad except for MK at the end of the week, and the weather was really nice. I'd probably go again during this time, and am actually deciding a trip for this year between this week, or a week in Oct.

good to know. Thanks that will help us plan our week. soap weekend is at mgm that weekend so I want to avoid that if possible and it's also the end of F&W at Epcot so I'm not sure how busy it will be there.

don't forget that there's a coffee maker swap going on for the pop also. check it out on budget boards.

My extended family was planning a big cruise get-together for this year, but a wedding in the family derailed the plans. Instead, I'm taking my immediate family to WDW... Poor us. I guess we'll just have to suffer through the MK, Wishes, Illuminations, DS, etc. We'll be there Jersey Week - as it seems the rest of NJ will - Nov. 3rd through 10th.

DH and I are teachers in different school districts.. We had planned to go next spring break but we don;t have overlapping vacations so he suggested we go again for Thanksgiving! Who am I to complain???!!! So we will be at the Dolphin 11/21 - 11/25 (Maybe the 20th if I can get a late flight!)
