November 19, 2009 3-day Wonder Cruise

tinkmom2.....
Hi!!! I have a question, if you dont mind....I was wondering approximately how many people participate in the FE exchange? Oh by the way, I see you're from Milwaukee:thumbsup2....Me too...we moved to Florida when I was young.
Thanks!!!

Hiya,
So far there are 3 families for the FE exchange. So if you want in please PM me your cabin number, who is in your group (DH, DS(4)etc..) and a contact email. Also if your children have allergies. On my 4 dayer we had about 15 different cabins. I have seen on the boards that sometimes large numbers participate. In that case I would break up the list into groups. I am adding names to the list daily. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I have lived here in Milwaukee all my life but want badly to move down to Florida !

PS if you can't PM just leave a note here in the forum or contact me directly at bettyboop_fan@msn.com

HI!!! I would love to join in on the FE exchange!!! I just bid on 2 on ebay...I would like to have my sister, her husband and 6 year ol son included too. I want to surprise them with their fish extender, so I will supply gifts for their cabin as well as mine(myself, son 10, daughter 12 and neice 17). I love the idea :yay:and didnt notice it on our first Disney cruise!!!! I dont have cabin numbers yet for myself or my sister, we booked a cat12 cabin...will that be a problem??? I know you mentioned gifts from Oriental Trading Company, could you give me an idea of what is expected please???? Thank you!!!

Hiya,
Just let me know your cabin number as soon as you know. How far in advance will you know before the cruise? ..
I bought several gifts from Oriental trading company. I know if you search the internet you can find dollar off coupons for Oriental also search the Dis budget board(that's where I found mine) and the Dis cruise board for FE ideas. There are also posts and pics of what people give as gifts.
My daughter and I made a scrap book we handed out last cruise. We received bubbles, theater candy, a cool hidden mickey game..etc.. you can also find a lot of cool stuff at your dollar store. Just spend what you can. There are no set number of things you should give. Some give once a day or some give through out the day.
Hope this helps. Thanks for joining us!

Thanks so much for the info. I tried to send you an email before I checked back here. I cant remember when we found out our cabin assignments last time....I think around the 30 day out mark??? I will let you know as soon as I can.:yay:

I'm so excited! I just went ahead and purchased a fish extender off of ebay and I think it will be really cute. I had thoughts of making something myself and I know I could get by with something that would cost less, but what the heck. I've got plenty of other things on my to do list these days and this is one less thing to think about. With any luck I'll get to use it again in the future!

Hi Paxton's Mom,

Just saw your post and also noticed you are from St. Paul. We live in Byron if you know where that is. When do you go down? We are flying on AirTran leaving 11-14 and flying back on 11-22 after the cruise. See ya soon:)

Amy

So far 5 families have signed up for the FE exchange:cool1: I went to Wal Mart today and a few things caught my eye. I look at things now thinking "Hmm, I wonder if these would make a cool FE gift?" lol!

Hi AmyM-

I have a kind-of-sort-of general idea about where Byron is. For my work I need to visit Red Wing and Rochester on occaision and I have a sense that it's down in that neck of the woods, right? (My boss grew up in Byron, so I have heard him mention it.)

We are going down on the 14th too, but on Sun Country. This is a bounce back cruise for us, we did a 7-day in February. It was such a great deal to do this one, but we decided that if we were paying to fly down we might as well go early and spend a few days in the parks. I can't believe that it's coming up so quick!

Looks like a lot of us are travelling down on the 14th. I've been reading lots of info on the boards regarding the parks. Planning the cruise part is easy it's the parks that require all the research.
I think we've decided not to prebook anything for our Nassau day until we get there and see what the weather will be like. Did anyone else notice the Space Shuttle is scheduled to launch on the 12th of Nov? Hopefully it will get delayed and we may get to see it.
No room assignments yet. Still hoping for some more pixie dust after the awesome resort upgrade we got.

Hey!!!
I am having a blast picking out items for the FE exchange!!! :woohoo: I am so excited I was able to get our FE for our room and one for my sisters family....This really is fun....I can just imagine how much more fun it will be on the ship!!!:dance3: Thanks for getting this going!!!!

Hi folks,

For our upcoming cruise, I am interested in coordinating a door MAGNET EXCHANGE for those interested. You would simply stick a magnet that you've bought or created onto the participating door on the first night to decorate. With others participating, you door becomes a great display!

Just simply send me a PM with your stateroom numbers and I will circulate just prior to the cruise. *This will be separate from the "Fish Extender" exchange.

Wow---your door looked great!!! How many do you have signed up for the magnet exchange???

Only three staterooms are participating so far. On my last two cruises it was usually around a dozen participating.

I would love for more people to join in - this is an easy exchange (again this is separate from the Fish Extender exchange) because you just swap magnets (either ones you've bought or ones you've made).

Hiya,
Want to be added to the FE exchage for the November 19th 3 Day? Please email me with your cabin number, who DH, DS etc, allergies, and a contact email. My email is (bettyboop_Fan@msn.com) If you cannot PM because you don't have enough posts you can leave a note in the 11/19 cruise thread:thumbsup2 So far there are 5 families:banana:

Hello! My name is Mike. My family of 5 (me, my wife, my 2 teenage boys 14 & 13 and my 8 year old daughter) will be cruising for the VERY FIRST TIME aboard the Disney Wonder the week before Thanksgiving! We are so excited! This is our first cruise, so we are a little anxious, but know we'll all have a great time. We are going to follow-up our trip with 5 days at WDW when we get done with the cruise. We'll be at WDW November 22-27, 2009. I'd love to meet some of you whilw we're on the cruise. The fish extender and door decoration thing sounds like a lot of fun. How do I get involved? Hope to hear from some of you guys and gals soon!

Welcome aboard Mike! You will definitely enjoy cruising (I hope:))! We have cruised with our kids several times and will have our 14 year old son and friend with us along with our 16 year old duaghter and her 14 year old girl friend! Definitely have your kids talk to ours! The teen program Aloft has been enjoyable for our teens (they were on the Wonder last October). Please email with any questions...I see you're new so sending a message within this board is not an option. My email is amy@svmrochester.com. See you soon!

Hiya,
I can add you to our exchange. All that is required is that you get a fish extender or something similar to hang on your fish outside your room. Some handmake them or you can find them on Ebay. Gifts are of your choice. You can give one per person or one per cabin. I will be getting out a list of participating families a week out before the cruise. There are several threads on the FE and you can search them to see what other people have given. Email me with your email address so I can add it to our list and I need your cabin number also. :thumbsup2

Hello,

I have a question for the previous cruisers. What is the latest you can stay on the boat once it has docked?Does everyone have to be off a certain time? I have a later flight home and I am pondering if I should rent a car and enjoy Florida a little longer or just go to the airport.

Thanks

We are in the same boat:rotfl: and have booked a rental with Budget. They will pick us up at the port and we can drop the car back off at MCO. Also, Budget is apparently right at the airport terminal.
