November 19, 2005 Thanksgiving Magic Cruise

I noticed the rumor was actually said on the Repo thread about the wireless access.From what it sounds,we will probably get to use the wireless access on our cruise.Lampskies your source of information gets an A plus.Any other rumors to tell?I don't like surprises<G>.

I have never tried making the konk kooler at home.I bet is is just as good.Mojito?What is in that?The snowflake sounds great.

Do they have the gingerbread house making on our cruise?DH and I enjoyed it this past December.We thought we were going to be the only ones in there without kids,but that wasn't the case.We had a great time doing these.

Okay...since ya'll are finally talking my kind of drink...those froo froo kind, not a keep me skinny Miller lite...no offense Lampy, when I drink beer it is one of my preferred, but I was raised on rum...my best friend from 3rd grade is half Venezuelan and rum rules in their house.

I agree with ya'll...konk coolers are the greatest! But, I don't know if you other 2004 Turkeys made it to the adult beach...Eric and I did that first day at CC...I'd had one konk cooler from the family beach bar...ahhhhh, smooth with a nice shot of dark rum floating on top...so later Eric and I decided to have another from the adult beach bar....big mistake!!! The bartender actually had to mix all of the ingredients in a blender...ICK! I did not like it at all!! It was not the smoothie, fruity taste I was expecting. My advice...stick with the family beach ones!!

Now, on the ship I tried to meet the challenge set here on the boards by my fellow Turkeys....drink one of the "drink of the day" each day...okay, I didn't manage that, BUT I tried...Bay Breeze, Apple Madras, Tequila Sunrise, Bahama Mama, Banana Caribe (and I don't even like bananas, but hey, it was with rum so it went down real nice), on Thanksgiving I opted for that Pilgrim's Punch and if that is what John Wayne drank...well, now I understand his walk! Boy! Did that thing pack a wallop! (Southern Comfort, Triple Sec, Sprite and a splash of cranberry juice) At the Pirate's Night, I absolutely loved the Pirate's Nest....Apple Pucker, Peach Schnapps, Malibu Pineapple juice...yummmm! And another one that I loved from the last night "Best of" meal...it had blue curacao, sprite, a juice, and one other thing that I can't remember and the name escapes me....anyone from 2004 Turkeys remember? Lampy, ya'll had the same rotation as us...it was in Lumiere's that last night? Any ideas? All I know it was so smooth you'd swear there wasn't any alcohol in it.

Okay, now that ya'll think I'm a true lush, I'll be on my way. Honestly, I rarely drink, but hey! On the cruise, I wasn't driving, I didn't have to be at work, and it was vacation so what is one or two drinks a day?

Internet Access

Talked with Danielle (Internet manager and cruise sales), and apparently everything on the ship is installed to allow wireless internet access with your own laptop. I don't know what the holdup is, but she stated it should be very very soon. She apparently is hearing a lot of guest feedback regarding this, and hopefully it will get rectified. It's merely a matter of flipping the switch now.

Any more doubters 'bout my "girlfriend"?

Yeah, but the last thing I want to do while on the cruise sit at a computer! I do that all day at work! Last cruise, I posted a couple of times at like 2:00 AM after the DIS group went to bed. So, wireless in the cabin will not be a biggie for me. Now for DD15 and her buddy, it may be something that they will use.
I want to be far far away from high tech while sailing!

I think I saw one of your relatives here in southern Illinois...I was on the highway near my house and a station wagon with about 15 cases of Miller Lite in the back passed me by....they had to be related to ya!!!!

Laura....Sounds like one of my cousins and a "weekend" trip Maria, Turkeyday sailors are always looking for an extra person to tip on back with....but I must confess, looks like me and Willie had a the "stamina"! Maria.......Consider it a marathon and tell hubby to start training now!!!

Don't let him fool ya. I hung in there as well as I could. But Lampy drinks Miller lite like water. And I never heard him so much as slur a word while he was lip synching Bon Jovi. This year, we will see how he does on kareoke.

And yes, the 2004 Turkeys are a fun bunch to sail with. You could not pick a nicer bunch of folks. Of course, we are now ALL Turkeys! 2005 Edition.

It was really nice to meet so many people on these boards ahead of time. We all felt like we knew each other by sailing time. It is great to cross paths all week with friends. And the best was the nightly DIS meets. It will be a hoot.

OK, can I brag on my kid some? Last night Erin's basketball team won the 9-10 year old ALL STARS Regional Championship with a 30-6 win over a local rival. Erin had 16 points. Coach Dad was really proud of how well they played.
(Yes, you are Daddys Little Angel, just hit the 3.)
Now advance to Nationals in June.
