Hi Andrew
DS and i Filled about 20 bags of leaves yesterday
I hope to only cut the grass 1 more time
I did try to wait for the leaves to blow into my neighbors lawn, but we have not had any strong winds to do that. It is common up north that if you wait long enough, the leaves will blow into a neighbors lawn. Whoever has a fense or lots of landscaping, leaves will collect in those places.

John :earboy2:

Man, I love living in Florida. I was getting my snorkeling gear ready today, and cleaning the pool. No leaves for me to rake. We have a lot of trees, but they are what you call live oaks. They have leaves all year long. We usually have to do some raking in the spring, but nothing like in the north.

By the way, didn't you say her family was from south GA?? We're probably related then ~ my dad is also from a small town in S. GA called Adel.
L.

Yes, my DW's father's kin come from Douglas, Georgia. They were cotton farmers. Tanner is the family name. I'll have to look up Adel.

At this time next week, we will be getting ready to sail away from Castaway Cay. I will have a tear in my eye. Then Willie will get off of my foot, and I will be fine. Also, we will all have seen Doogie's fish feeding show!

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

I know I was just thinking that. This time next week I will have had my konk kooler for the day,and we will be about to sail away. ::MinnieMo

I have a thing of shedding a tear every time we get onboard.I do it every time. This isn't due to Charlie stepping on me either, but that is a good excuse ::MickeyMo .

Our family name was Cobb. Grandaddy was a farmer, but livestock I believe. There's a lot of them from Valdosta as well.

Are medals awarded at this volleyball activity? You all know that Mrs. TCD went to college on a volleyball scholarship. She has a mean serve.

Hey, we're forming a team here...Bruno's "Dad" (tall police dude) has a wicked spike!! I've been on the receiving end of it when we all lived down in Jensen Beach!

bhawks -- did you get an email from me about a little girls swimsuit???

i'm just leaving that out there for y'all.................................... :earseek:

No, when did you send? Can you retry?

WOW You'all crack me up.

I guess having a husband is like having children. You love them dearly even if you don't always want to be with them. BUT you always want to know where they are.

And I guess we KNOW where you will be. (Just in case we need you) (for more money or something)

John - I raised 3 wise cracking children and they still mouth off even in their 30's but it was almost always followed with (You I'm just kiddin' Right Mom/). So I can give as good as I get.

They always tried to stay on th good side. After all it was me who would have to tell dad whatever it was they did wrong.

And I work with a bunch of smart mouth Engineers who never grew up.

Packing - Looks it will be 2 suitcases - The shoes take up too much room.

OK - Lets make 4000

OK, time to share. Not all of TCD's competitions on the DCL have resulted in hardware. Last year, TCD and oldest DD were matched for a family competition in Diversions. The idea of it was to see how well the children knew the parents and vice versa. The host picks competitors based on how much noise the table they are seated at can make. TCD girls are very good at this. I have a friend who has three sons. He has observed that the TCD girls can make your eardrums explode with their screaming. It is true. I have observed that his sons pound on each other like cave men, and climb on things that are not designed for such purposes. Viva la difference. Anyway, I digress. Ok, so surprise of surprises, the host picks the TCD table to send a pair into the competition. The family selects TCD and oldest DD. There are four or five other teams. The parents are sent out of the room, and the kids are asked questions. Questions like, how old is your father/mother, who is their favorite music group, what is their favorite dessert, who is their favorite Disney Character, etc. The parents are brought back in. The host asks the questions, the parents give an answer, and the host then reveals what the child said. Lots of fun! Well, TCD and DD match on the age, dessert, and Disney Character questions, no problem. The other contestants are not doing so good. We have a high maintenance mother whose daughter doesn't know her age, we have a funny African American guy, whose child gave the correct age, but who forgot how old he was. The crowd is loving it. TCD isn't getting any laughs, because his answers match. OK, now comes the "who is your parent's favorite music group question." TCD doesn't know what to say. He listens to a lot of talk radio, and also to Contemporary Christian Music, but DD isn't in to this, and isn't going to know a group. TCD decides to go for the big laughs. "Vanilla Ice" I say. The crown erupts-very funny! DD's answer was Michael W. Smith (Christian music artist). The other parents get their answers right. It all goes downhill from there. The high maintenance mom and daughter win. No hardware for the TCD family. I still have not lived it down. DD had never heard of Vanilla Ice. When we get home, she downloads Ice, Ice, Baby, and burns a CD for my car. It is now our family theme song. It actually is a pretty good song.

If they have another contest like this in Diversions this year, watch out for us. We will be the team to beat.

JK! you know i get myself in trouble on this board all the time. it seems to be a bad habit of mine.

Kris

Kris- You know, that is a very good suggestion. I will get working on it the week after next! Don't look now, but I have passed you!  :moped:

If you haven't figured it out by now, the TCD family is not too uptight (except for Mrs. TCD, but she is OK if you give her a couple of Corona's) (please don't mention that comment to her either, thanks)

Well, oldest TCD DD has a You Might Be a Redneck joke a day calendar. She hung this one from November 7th on the fridge:

You might be a redneck if . . .

The last time you saw your daddy outside, he was picking up trash, chained to three other guys.

Not bad. I'm so proud. A chip off the old block.

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

Well - to ease the pangs of guilt - no matter how slight - I have put 2 pies in the oven

1 - Apple
1 - Pumpkin

That's it - they don't get dinner just desert !!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And you know what's funny - they won't complain. They will say Thank You!!!
I love my family.

Ken and I will go out to dinner. (see how wonderful it is when your children are grown)

This is only the 3rd Thanksgiving that we will not be home for.

1 - went to the parade in NYC - Never Again - Cold and you couldn't see anything especially the children.

2 - went to Son's house in GA so his new wife could cook - It was wonderful.

My father was a marine mechanic, I grew up on the water. So I love cruising. It takes me back to a lot of fond memories. Especially this year as my dad passed away in Apr. He was partial to sail boats.

I'm glad we are leaving Thurs. It has been warm here so far but the temp is supposed to drop 20 degrees.

CC Here We Come!!!!! :umbrella:
