OK Lamps
It may be somewhat true that i may be a lighweight.
But i can put down more COOKIES than most!
If i drank as much as i eat i would really be in trouble
With all the business travel i did in the last 3 months, i never got a chance
to excercise like i wanted to.
But i need to when we get back from the Boat
I want to fit into my SPYDER bibs (the only bibs i have ever worn) for skiing.

Hey everyone

I do not remember names very well, so by the time we meet at Diversions, i would like to pull out my "cheat sheet" and say your name instead of "hey"

Pulled this off the Costa Maya tour thread. Good info for the families with younger children.

Hi everyone! Just got back from the 11/5 Magic cruise. It was really great (aside from some challenging times from my 5 yo!).

I was searching so hard for info on Costa Maya before the cruise, so I thought I would report in. I went on the Chacobben Ruins excursion offered by the Magic. I think they did a fantastic job coming up with WONDERFUL guides for the tour - and that makes all the difference I think. Our guide Diane was part Mayan, and was actually the guide for the very first cruise ship tour to Chacobben a number of years ago. She was very, very knowledgable and made it fascinating. Her son was a guide for another group. So kudos to Disney for seeking out and procuring these people at the last minute like this.

I would say - bring small children at your own risk!! First, the guide talks the entire trip there, so all children must remain quiet, and it is not interesting to any young child. There is also nothing much to see out the window from the bus in the hour trip to the ruins.

Also, at the ruins there is very choppy, steep rock stairs to climb - NOT child friendly and a child could rather easily get hurt. The guide had heard that one small child sprained her wrist during our trip. So this is not something meant for young kids, though there were a few on our bus that went and they "behaved" and did very well. They allowed kids 5 and up to go. If you have a fidgety head-strong young one, my advise - don't do it!

As my child loved the kids club, and I was VERY impressed with it for the age group of my child anyway, I left him in their hands and went. I was a bit uncomfortable being out of touch for those hours, but it is a very controlled environment on the ship in the kids club for that age, and the counselors were wonderful, and he felt safe with them, so I really felt he was safe. Felt a bit guilty, but this ruins excursion made my trip (as I thought it would)!

Hope this helps some of you on the 11/19 sailing!!

Hi Mary -

Sometimes on a cruise, I like to just lounge and people watch! But never been on a 7-day before, so maybe there will be a lot more down time.

Kris

Judging by what I have been reading, this dis group will be the people that the "people watchers" are watching!!!!!! Sounds like we might give them a lot to watch.......

DH hosted a texas hold em tourney last night. Unfortunately, he didn't win the pot AND there were no leftovers to fill our empty frig. Now I might have to grocery shop..... DO we really need to eat for the 5 days prior to the cruise.......? Mistake- when I said no leftovers, I meant food- there is plenty of liquid substenance to hold DH over until CRUISE DAY.

Took DD almost 14 and DS almost 9 shopping last night to get out of the house... Gone 4 hours, and not a single thing for me..... I am out to find a formal today..... Pam

Just got off the phone with DCL......looks like we have 28 staterooms all linked!!! :cool1: Looks like the only ones not in our rotation is a William Miller Jr.? Is that you Willie? Molli and the Blairs?

I just called DCL-we were not linked yet for dining, so I took care of that. Is that the only link, or is there another one we need to link to.... Pam

Not at all. Wasn't it a lawyer that said, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Oh, and by the way, it is also against the law." :rotfl: :rotfl2: :earboy2:

I did the original in Disney print artist, but it produces a proprietary (how is that for a big word at 11:00 PM) file type. I exported the file to a jpeg, but unfortunately the jpeg graphic is only 44kb, so the quality isn't very good.

I am making mine into a door magnet. You can save the jpeg graphic from my post. I will be glad to email the Print Artist file to anyone. I think I have everyone's email address from the spreadsheet. Just post that you want it. Just doing my part to get us to 5000 posts before Friday. I also have some Thanksgiving graphics that I will add to the email.

Goofy just couldn't stand that our Cruise t-shirts had the wrong port, so he made the necessary correction.

I really had better things to do today, but not as much fun. I have gotten lots of door magnets made up today - while I was watching/listening to football.

Andrew-I saw the posts about the 12/3 and the 12/31 Magic cruises going to Nassau instead of Mexico. The passengers seem very upset!! To me, it doesn't really matter which port we go to, I'm looking forward to a week with no work, no telephones, lots of great people, lots of great food and drink, lots of sun, entertainment and relaxation!! :sunny: :sunny:

With all of us being linked for dinner some 120 + people estimated, and so many of us having Birthdays, Anniversary past or present, I think we should have a dais table and everyone not celebrating needs to bring gifts.

Maybe Disney will even provide us a HUGE cake for our Celebration. :rotfl2:

Lampy - call your girlfriend  and take care of this for us. P L E A S E!!!!

I'm proud of me - I got the little guys to work - Don't know what I was doing wrong before.

Should we register with the Cruise Ship Store for our Anniversary Gifts???? :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

A Dream is a Wish you heart makes............

OK Back to packing.

It was a dark and stormy night.... yes, it really was last night! I thought my house was going to blow away, the pool cover DID blow away, good thing we have a fence to block it from leaving the subdivision!

As always happens during bad weather, I slept fitfully, because someone has to be awake to hear the tornado sirens in case they go off so that the the rest of the family can be hustled to the basement in time (yes, I am slightly paranoid :lol). Anyway, in the little sleep I did get, I dreamt I was on the ship, trying to sleep during a wavy, stormy night, and in my dream I was worrying that the ship was going to tip over, so I had to stay awake in order to grab the life vests and wake the family. Geez, you'd think my dreams of the Magic would be more pleasant! :o

So here I am now, a day after hosting an early Thanksgiving dinner for my parents/sibling/family, thinking that I booked Thanksgiving week so that I wouldn't have to deal with, well, the "family" stuff (love them dearly, but the older European parents get, the more critical they are and love the guilt game, ugh). Thankfully, I am done with the family obligation and will now commence packing!

If I finish packing today, can I leave tonight? ;)

Did you guys see that the Western cruises after ours are going to Nassau instead of Costa Maya? I guess things aren't so good at this port. Oh well, we will still have fun, and I personally would rather take my chances with this port than go to Nassau again.

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

I agree --- I have been to Nassau many times too many.

Kris - Dan and I will arrive at MCO about 1:30ish Friday and plan to head on over to Cocoa Beach. I'll have a lime green mickey head tag and a bit of curly ribbon on my bag - so if you see me - say "hi". Anyone, else too! Anyone have recommendation as to a place to eat?[/QUOTE]

Grammy -

I want a lime green Mickey tag to wear on my head, too!

Time to come clean. I know I'm really obnoxious on this board, but in real life I am very quiet and I hardly say anything. This is true.
