Here is a couple sentences that I have cut and pasted from onother forum about the "pirate attack"

The attackers never got close enough to board the Spirit, but one member of the 161-person crew was injured by shrapnel, cruise line president Deborah Natansohn said.

The vessel’s 151 passengers, mostly Americans with some Australians and Europeans, were gathered in a lounge for their safety, Good said. None were injured.

"Gathered in the lounge for safety"? See Willie, I knew we'd be "safe" during those football games...... :rotfl2:

Gina,

We bring wine with us also, We take the bag out of the box. Easier to pack and put it in a large zip-lock bag, for extra safety.

It cools pretty good in the cooler on the ship also.

We also do the wine package for dinner. One bottle a night for the two of us. Never have any left by the end.

As far as lanyards. Most of those I saw looked like the DVC ones they were handing out on the ship. I have three right next to my desk, which we bring all the time. You can get different types on the ship. We use two types. The open, clear style for around ship and the closed, seal type when doing water sports.

Any one add about the wine tasting, how do they handle booking this activity.

Welcome Fletch!

Maria

Hey Maria! :wave2:

I've been around...just don't do much posting. I'm the one whose daughter doesn't know that we're going on this cruise. She'll find out around 5 a.m. on the 19th, when I wake her with the news! :) Unless, of course, this "attitude" of hers keeps rearing its ugly head! Anyone else have a "tween" girl who knows what I mean? Goodness!! If she keeps it up, we'll fly down there just to watch you all leave! LOL!

Ken,

Thanks for the wine adivse. I was also planning on the wine package for dinner. I was afraid you would all think I was a lush. But from reading the postings and seeing the bar bill, I am just a beginner. I will try my best to keep up. :drinking1

Fletch-Chuck LOVES steamed crabs!! Whenever we go to Baltimore--that is his request!! In fact, we saw "crabs on parade" in downtown Baltimore earlier this year. It will be nice having you as a neighbor on the cruise!!

Steamed crabs are the BEST!! I'll sneak a few on the ship for Chuck! j/k!
I look forward to being neighbors with you guys as well! :goodvibes

Has everyone received their updated cruise spread sheet.

If you haven't let me know and I'll resend it.

Wow, I have just spent over an hour catching up on 20 pages of posts.

Everyone, try to guilt my DW Lisa into posting. She has been lurking (and filling me in when I haven't been able to read) for the last week. I think with a little encouragement she might respond. And you will find that I will be referring to her to remind me everyones' name on the cruise. She has a very uncanny ability to remember things. Not always a good thing when you are married. :rotfl2:

To catch up on all the posts:

We booked in Aug 2004. We started looking in April, but were waiting to see if DW's parents wanted to come, also. The delay cost us choice of cabin and $$$. :(

The shirts arrived. :bounce: Thanks. And I like the color. We have NEON lime green T-shirts from our school from last year. That is what I was expecting. The pastel lime green is much more soothing. :cloud9: DD-14 wants to wear hers to school - I told her to just not trash it. The check's in the mail.

I don't have a 'vette. Chevy quit making Chevettes before I had a chance to get one. :p However, I do have a dark red Chrysler Sebring Convertible. It doesn't go that fast, but it does look good. :smooth: And the nice thing about Montgomery is I can drive with the top down for 10 months of the year. The other 2 months it is raining. :umbrella: Of course, sometimes I have to run the A/C and sometimes the heat (with the top down, of course). :earboy2: And the front license plate is from Test Track and says "2 GOOFEE"

We also have a 12 foot popup. We spent the early part of Thanksgiving week at FW 3 years ago. Haven't been back to FW since we joined DVC. We don't get out with the popup as much as we want to. The last 2 years we have mainly used it for week long stays at our church family camp. The big trip we did with it was going to Yellowstone NP 3 years ago with our German exchange student. Went from Alabama to St. Louis, Kansas City, Black Hills SD (Custer State Park - a fantastic place to camp!!!), Cody WY, Denver CO, Dodge City KS, Gate OK (to see my 1/9 of 180 acres of prime Great Plains wheat farm), and home through Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. We traveled over 5000 miles in 19 days, and went through 18 states. This trip I'm letting someone else do the driving!! :moped:

I guess I should have split this into multiple posts to help us get to 4000. Sorry.

Paul Goofyhouk

Kenny K - Thanks for the updated cruise list.

Tri-Circle-D - Got our T-shirts on Monday! That's some fast traveling to Pennsylvania! We love 'em and can't wait to see the other almost 100 of you in them! Thanks soooooo much!
