November 15, 2008 7 night Western 11/15/08 11-15-08

We are also staying there. I haven't booked the shuttle yet. I still have a few things to take care of in the next few months and that is one of them. l still haven't booked our excursion in Grand Cayman either.

We don't fly in until 7:30 that night, so I don't know if we are going to have much time at the fabulous pool. What time do most people start lining up at Port?

I am planning to let my children (10 &11) have quite a bit of freedom on the ship. They are both pretty independent and reasonably responsible. I am however, formulating a set of guidelines (RULES!!!) for them. Do any of you veteran's have suggestions?

Tami what shuttle are you taking? I was planning on having DH drop us at the port while he returns to car to budget. Maybe it would be better to have him return the car 30 mins prior to us taking the shuttle. That way he can start standing in line instead of me with 2 kids??? I could come on the shuttle with the luggage...........W\what do you all think?

Our plane arrives at 6:30, so I don't know if our kids will get any pool time either. We booked a limo service over to the hotel, so we don't have to worry about a rental. We are booked on the 10am shuttle. I'm just too excited for our first cruise to begin to wait any longer than that!!! :rotfl:

Hi Everyone.
I got my fish extender today that I ordered off of Ebay from Hong Kong. Its really cool. Let me know if anyone wants a picture. It was $3.99 + $5.99 shipping. It was called: Disney Mickey Mouse 5 Pocket Hanging Storage Bag
71 days:banana:

Christie, I believe the Radisson offers a shuttle to the port. I am not sure if there is a charge or not. I saw phone number on the website to call to reserve it. I think I will call on Monday. We are leaving for the lake to use my new Sea Doo :yay: , but had I better get the rest of my excursions and the shuttle scheduled next week. I think we may try and do the early shuttle too!

Lin, Thank you again for the encouraging thoughts. Izzy loves Mommy and Daddy time. We are only planning on using the Flounders Nursery on the evening we are going to Palo. I love seeing the world through her eyes and the smiles over what seems to be the silliest little thing.

We are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside on the day before we set sail. I am looking forward to meeting several new people on board.

Brandon
Hey Brandon, anytime, and any other questions, feel free. We haven't booked Palo because we were not sure if we would actually get time without both kids. Dillon startred pre-k on Tuesday though and he LOVES it so maybe we will luck out. Of course, there will probably be no reservations by the time we decide. No worries though, we will still have a ball! My friend Alice and I are hoping to at least do High Tea.

Whew, I am so relieved, we booked JetBlue back in April so we are exempt from paying the extra baggage fee, we are still allowed two bags per person free of charge. That is a relief, we would be paying for sure!! :0)

Tami,
The shuttle from the Radisson to the port is free, and you can call anytime to get your name on the list. I had read somewhere that it was 2 weeks out, but I called and they said you can get your name on the list at any point, but not to wait until the last minute, in case the one you want is filled up. We put ours on then, because I figured the 10am is the first shuttle and would be the one to fill the fastest. There is a suggestion to tip the driver, so there is another envelope I will have ready to go.

Can anyone tell me if there is an ATM on Board....for shore excursion cash?

Thanks!

Just wanted to stop and introduce myself. Looks like a great group here. I'm Joyce and we're from Pittsburgh PA. My DH Chris and I have 3 girld who will be joining us Lauren (12), Sarah (10) and Kelsey (6). Also my sister Melissa and her son Keegan (6) and my parents will be traveling with us.

We booked back in Feb but just now have really got to sit down and spend some time on the boards. My girls would love to chat before the cruise as it looks like there are quite a few girls their ages on here.

We just finally booked our flight and hotel so I feel pretty behind.

We too are bringing our snorkel gear, renting bikes and float tubes for the day at CC. Plus my oldest is going with his aunt and uncle parasailing.

Joyce, welcome to our thread, I only have 3 boys, not the girls your kids would be looking to chat with, but we're glad you've joined us.

No ATM's onboard. There are safes in each stateroom, in the closets, so if you are going to bring cash onboard you will have that personal safe in your stateroom, it's opened with your Key To The World card, so you won't have to carry around an extra key. Most shops and non-Disney excursions will accept credit/debit cards. We only used cash when we planned to shop in the open market vendors and the items we purchased from the vendors were not high dollar items - everywhere else we used debit cards.

Hope that helps!

I have a ten year old girl who does not know about the cruise yet...we plan to tell around the 15th.

If you new peeps read back on the thread, most of us have ordered lime green rubber band bracelets from an ebay store so that we recognize each other as Disers....they're inexpensive and easy to pack!

You are just what my DD has been waiting for!! She will be 12 in November. She would love to chat with someone her age. Her name is Ashlyn.

Hey Christie, I am praying your family is safe, sound, high and dry! Let us hear from you after Ike leaves Big H alone!

Audie and Christie!

Let's hope IKE has more bark than bite!

Stay safe and we're waiting to hear from you!

Les

Christie,
Our prayers are with you and your family. I don't know if your husband will be helping out during Ike, I have a friend down in Texas in the military and I know her husband is also out there lending a hand in the storm. Please let us know everythings ok afterwards.
