Don't know if anyone is interested, but tinkerbell 766 has some cruise journal pages she has been creating lately. Here is a link to her thread:

Les, I don't know if you told your kids or not yet, but Telynn designed a cruise ticket for me that you can get her to personalize and give to your daughter, could be a neat way to find out about it. She is really quick about getting things done. Here is the link to the ticket thread if you or anyone else is interested:

...is out of the bag!

They worked their letters and as soon as they had the answer I blasted the Disney Magic horn at them from the computer. They were stunned. It took about an hour before it sunk in, then they pretty much vibrated all day. They are calling me a torturer and saying that I told them too soon! Thank goodness I didn't tell them the 500+ days out when I booked! :lmao: They are VERY excited and can't wait to be in touch with the kids on the board here.

They will post in the next few days.

Thanks for the tip Sharon. I bet the tickets are cute. I still may have cause to use something like that yet!

2 MONTHS!

Oh my gosh, its only 2 months!! Time is going to go by so quick now ( I hope).

Welcome to any newcomers in the group.

I hope everyone had a nice summer.

Hey all,

We are just 2 months away!!!

What a week it's been around the Gulf Coast of Texas. Here in Corpus Christi we did not even get a strong breeze, but my whole family is from the Clear Lake, south Houston area and no one was sparred the wrath of Ike, but everyone is safe, healthy but uncomfortable...we will take uncomfortable! Christie, I am still praying for your family daily, I look forward to logging on and seeing a post from you!

After this week, I'm even more anxious to make some magical memories with my most precious treasures - my family! See you all real soon:yay:

I can now speak freely about the cruise!!! Yes Sharon...it's a huge relief.!

I am now doling out "Lewis Family Navigators". Once a week they get a little print out of a day's outline of cruise activities and some history of whatever port we are visiting. This week they got Port Canaveral - Embarkation Day. Sunday they will get Key West etc etc etc. They have no idea about what excursions I've picked so it will be fun for them to get a surprise every week until we go.

Audie...glad you and your family are safe. Hope clean up and recovery goes quickly for your relatives!

Les

Hey Everyone,

I got an email today from Christie, they are all fine. They are in Dallas, waiting for power to be restored to their home. Her husband is still in the Houston/Galveston area working. They evacuated ahead of the storm, so they are safe and sound!

She said to be sure and say thanks for thinking of them and as soon as she is home, she will get back to posting!

Just wanted to stop and introduce myself. Looks like a great group here. I'm Joyce and we're from Pittsburgh PA. My DH Chris and I have 3 girld who will be joining us Lauren (12), Sarah (10) and Kelsey (6). Also my sister Melissa and her son Keegan (6) and my parents will be traveling with us.
some time on the boards. My girls would love to chat before the cruise as it looks like there are quite a few girls their ages on here.

We just finally booked our flight and hotel so I feel pretty behind.

HI! and WELCOME! we have 2 dd s 13 and will be 10 by the trip..they would love to talk to new pen pals before the trip...you can use the private email feature:yay:

My kids are interested in being in touch with their cruising peers...now that they know! I have sent messages to some of you but if there's anyone else out there who would like to start pre-cruise visiting, let us know.

Bennett (11 almost 12 by cruise) and
Kennedy (10, 11 in March)

Les/izma(spelled wrong I know!)

Angie,
We just got our reservation settled (we were waiting for the interline rates to come out)and we will put our fish extender on room 7022 so you can update us on your list when you get a chance.

It's official, we just added our 21 year old son to our group. We did get him his own room, he's been away at college awhile and we all decided we didn't want to learn how to live under 'one roof' again in such close quarters!

It's pretty quiet around here!

Everyone must be busy packing:hourglass !!!

Hello everyone!!

Angie, I am still waiting for my room assignment. I never could imagine that booking a GTY and waiting for my room # would be this hard:) I will let you know as soon as I get it. I hope I dont have to wait until we get to the port. That would stink.

I hope everyone is doing good. Time is flying by now.

To everyone that has sent their room numbers so far, thank you!!!

Dana - I've always wanted to book a GTY. I'm sending some pixie dust that you'll get a fabulous upgrade! :wizard:

GTY means Guarantee. I booked a Category 12 GTY. which means I will get at least a Cat. 12 room or hopefully better. There are only like 12 total Cat 12 rooms on the ship so after they all book up they start selling the Cat 12 as a GTY status up until a certain point. They do it with other categories as well.
Basically means I did not have the option of choosing my room # when I booked, so who knows where I will end up. I know I will be happy with wherever I am. I hope to find out before I get to the port.
I hope my explanation helped.

For those of you who are Fl residents, DCL has offered a fl resident rate for our cruise. I chose to upgrade from a 12 to a 9. It costs less than we paid for the 12 with $200 extra put on the onboard acct. That takes the place of the OBC we lost by switching to the fl resident rate. So basically, we just got upgraded for free.

My DM received a credit card refund of over $400. Just FYI.

See you onboard!
Jennifer
