November 15, 2008 7 night Western 11/15/08 11-15-08

Thanks Angie for keeping the list organized. I know I will be on the computer at 12:01 at 75 days out. I hope there is still something left for us first timers!

What post or where can I find the seller's email address to order the lime green bracelets?:worship:

They just gave me all the link to the woman that does these on page 33 post 495, then the rest is on p44 post 499. The lady that does these still has the design saved. It took about 3 days after I ordered them and I had them in my hand. Just send the seller a message through the ebay site, let her know you are on the Magic cruise and wanted to order the bracelets, and she will contact you pretty quickly.

Well, my guess is that it is not worth it to stay up until midnight on August 31st. I think I'll just hope for the best and try to get on the ship early.

If there is one complaint about DCL for me thus far, this is it. Why not give everyone equal opportunity to book ressies? Oh well....c'est la vie.

Additional availability is released at the 75 day mark and then again a smaller availability is released onboard for both Palo and Castaway Cay shore excursions. When your booking window opens you should see availability for Palo and CC excursions. But it all goes FAST! So log on a bit before 12.00 am Eastern Time to book and just keep hitting the refresh button, when you see the buttons switch from blue to yellow, your good to go!

I missed out on getting the sunset time on the day we wanted to do Palo, but we are a large party so it was a bit trickier to book. We ended up with an 8:30 dining time, no great view, but great company, great service and great food.... what more could I ask for and I got my Cabana Massage on CC....oh I am so excited!! Our last cruise, which was our first as well, we were diverted from CC due to Hurricane Noel -- so I didn't get my Cabana Massage that I was dreaming about, so I am once more dreaming!

If any of your remember my complaining that it was -40'F here back in February, you may be knocked over that 2 days ago we had +113'F.

This is certainly God's country!!! HA!!

Just checking in. I was reading back over the posts. We sure haven't heard from many of the earlier posters for awhile which got me to thinking that maybe we should set a cut off date for joining the Fish extender group....

I also think that closing the fish extender group in the near future would be best. I want to order some things - soon! With the kids back in school, I know the next couple months are going to go by quickly... and I really don't want to wait until the last minute to get everything together and packed. (Remember I'm packing for 8!) I think we originally thought about 10 families would be a nice size, so we do have a couple openings if any other DISers would like to join! We're now at 83 days... I'm thinking that we won't have many newbies joining the group at this point. Should we put out a final call and close the group at the 75-day mark?

I hope you all are having a great weekend. We really haven't done much, but will be really busy next weekend with my brother-in-law :groom: getting married on Saturday, the 30th.

Hi Everyone,
Finalizing the Fish Extenders List at 75 days sounds good to me. I would like to finish my shopping for this ASAP.
I know time will start flying when school starts.

I ordered a Fish Extender off of Ebay for $3.99 from Hong Kong I think. Its blue and has Mickey Mouse on it. I plan to embellish/personalize it a little. I'll let you know how it comes out, if it ever gets here:)

I cant believe summer is almost at an end:sad1:

Hope everyone is doing well.

Dana

Hi All, Trevor's 1st Birthday Party was 8/23/08 and we had a blast. Mommycarlo and family came, it was great to meet them and they got to meet our friends Davin and Alice and their girls. It will be great that they will already be familiar faces in November, even without our green bracelets!

Now that all the panning is finished, I should have a little more time to visit the boards. Still waiting to hear from Teva from DCL about our meeting time and place.

I agree about closing the fish extenders soon, I actually already did my shopping and if many more kids are added I would have to find more stuff! Besides, even though the things are little they will still take up room and precious weight in the luggage!!! Am figuring I will have to pay for an extra bag or two. Oh and hey about the packing, there are only four of us and still it is a dreaded thought!!!

If I get a good picture of the boys or the four of us from Trevor's party will try to get it on here.

Hope everyone enjoys upcoming holiday weekend.

:cutie:

Don't forget to check for a drop in price! I've been checking daily and ours finally dropped today, exactly 2 months after the booking period opened up. Our flight to Orlando went down $14 per person for a total credit of $112. :yay: I'm still hoping for a Ding fare - one or both ways!

For those staying in Cape Canaveral the night before the cruise....where are you staying. This is the last thing I need to book besides excursions.

Last week we were able to get a slight decrease for one of the families traveling with us from SWA...but alas, so far our airfare has not gone down! But at least one of the four families got a credit for over $100.00!

Don't forget this August 31, you can log on and book your onboard reservations and your excursions your booking through Disney. For those of us in the CST zone, it's 11:01 pm on Sunday. We have one of the families in our group who are brand new cruisers, so they will book their excursions then. They are wanting to parasail at Castaway Cay!

I've had folks stay at the Radisson Resort near the port because they offer a great military discount, you might check that out Christie. They have a fairly cheap prepay rate as well. They liked the resort and could see the Port from their room!

Looks like our fare went down. How do I claim my credit? Do I just call? How many times can you do this? Do you have one shot or if I call now and then it goes down further can I call again?

Hey Christie,

Give them a call and they will take care of it and give you the credit instructions. It's not a refund, but a SWA credit to be redeemed later. If you change flights, then you can do it online.

I've changed multiple times on reservations.

I'm glad it worked for ya'll, I still have my fingers crossed.

I've always taken care of mine online. Choose the Change Air Reservation option under Travel Tools... it will ask you to select the flights you want to change... check the boxes of those flight(s). Then when it asks you to select your new flights, you will reselect the same flights. On the payment page, you will see a credit. Jot down your reservation number and the amount. You can choose to have a copy emailed to yourself. It sometimes takes up to an hour or two, so don't worry if it's not instant. Also, after your request is processed, you can check your credit at the View Ticketless Travel Funds Balance link (also listed under Travel Tools). You credit is valid for 1 year from the date you purchased your tickets! :thumbsup2

I've done some flights 2-3 times and have never had a problem. Good luck!

Have you downloaded Ding?

77 days!

Can you believe it???

I'm going to start packing on Monday. I already have the suitcases laid out and ready! :rotfl:

Anyone else going to get an early start?

Now that's early!!! I have a luggage question. Need new luggage for this trip, the old stuff is falling apart after the last trip....what do you prefer, soft luggage or the new hard case? Anyone? Thinking of going with the new hard case - but not sure.

One thing I have noticed, as Airline industry made adjustments over these past few months and since SWA is one of the few who do not charge for extra luggage, their flights are all full!! Which of course makes checking in 24 hours prior a big must, but also it seems every flight I was on over the summer ran out of overhead bin space.
