November 14, 2010 4 Night Bahama Cruise

Hi Everyone! It looks like my husband and I along with a friend will be sailing with you all! We were originally on the 11/7 cruise but had to push our date back...We've been on DCL a few times and I'm looking forward to being back on the Wonder :goodvibes

:welcome: If you are interested, I'm working on getting our group into a private brunch at Palo. Would you like to join us?

WooHoo! We are up to 7, only 5 more to go to make the 12! Keeping my fingers crossed!!

Can you pencil us in as 2 more? I will talk with DH tomorrow (he's asleep, I'm making cruise lists! :lmao: ) and confirm. We wanted brunch and couldn't get a slot so this sounds great! Thanks! :)

Got it noted! Now we only need 3 more to make the minimum of 12 for the private palo brunch. I hope we can make this work:banana:

Thanks so much! I'll ask the other members of my party about it. We did brunch on our Med Cruise in May and it's very yummy :) Is there a cruise meet?

Grlzmom and I have a brunch reservation already, but we would be willing to switch over. There are two of us.

My concern is once you put in for a brunch, it will cancel out your existing reservation, so we don't want to be on the list unless it is certain we are going to get it. Am I making sense?

I just wanted to make sure we are set for the Fish Extender list. I have it listed as the 6 families on the front page. We leave for Costa Rica Friday so we won't have any internet access until we board so if there is anything else we need to know, please reply by tomorrow. Thanks so much, looking forward to hopefully meeting all of you!:hippie:

sounds great! I will make sure that if we do not get the brunch as a group that your existing ressie will not be canceled. However, if we do get the group brunch then DCL will automatically cancel your existing ressie, are you ok with that?

Currently we have these folks that would like to do the private palo brunch:

marlower, party of 3
Dicecatt/Grizmom, party of 2
teresa4304, party of 2
LynneDurham, party of 2
Disney Dreams, party of 2

So that makes 11!!

We only need a minimum of 1 more, nick.turpchinoff, are you and your soon to be wife in? Would love to have you join us?

everafter1, are you a party of 3? if so, and if nick is in then we would be at 16 but I could try and see if they can fit us all in if you all are interested.

Probably the early I can fax DCL the better. Once we are at 12, I will need your info. Per DCL's email, they are requesting the follow info to be faxed:

Reason for request (e.g. Private Room at Palo)
Sail Date
Number of Guests , including the name and reservation number of each Guest requesting to dine in the Private Dining Room
Contact Name---> I can be point of contact
Phone Number----> I can give them my cell number
Email and/or Fax Number----I can provide this as well.

So, what I would need from each of you is the names of all dining plus your cruise ressie number. We can do this by PM.

I think this is going to work out!! WooHoo!! :cool1:

Hi Marlower! We are a party of 3, I just wanted to check with my husband (he's deployed right now and delayed getting home which is why DCL was kind enough to move us to this cruise from the 11/7 cruise), so as soon as I talk to him, I'll let you know! I definitely don't want to take away a spot from the newlyweds, though, so no worries if you can't fit us in :goodvibes

On a side note, I'm not sure how full our cruise is... There are still reservations available for the first and last night's dinner at Palo. I'm trying to remember when we've done dinner there in the past... Would anyone have a recommendation on which night (1st or last) would be better?

Sounds great everafter1! I do hope it will work out for everyone that wants to experience the palo brunch.

I don't think it will be a completely full cruise but then again you just never know! It seems like there is quite a few of couples without children on this cruise so maybe it won't feel as full:confused3

My recommendation would be to dine at Palo the last night because that will be a full day at sea but maybe someone else has a different thought on that. I guess it would be possible if you ate at Palo the first night that you could get in on the last night too and then you would have both nights to eat at Palo.

Also, you had asked about a meet and I would love to meet all of you. I just don't know what time is best for everyone. I thought maybe 2pm in the Promenade Lounge but not sure if that is a good time.

Oh wow! What a great cruise this is going to be for you. Reunited with DH after his deployment. So wonderful. Thank you for the sacrifices you and your family have made for the country.

Very interesting. When we tried to book a little while back, there was only availability on the first night. People must double-book and are maybe canceling now that the day is quickly approaching? I know an excursion I wanted that was sold out opened up, so maybe that's what's happening with Palo as well. :confused3

As far as I know, people can't double-book for Palo...we're concierge level and were only allowed to book one dinner at Palo (plus our brunch). [Editing to say, I mean, can't double-book in advance. We wanted a second dinner night at Palo, and were told we'd have to book the second night when we were on the ship.] :)

So maybe this will be a lightly traveled cruise...or maybe people are just more interested in the other dining rooms?

Yes, there are six families participating in the FE. Hope you have a great time in Costa Rica! :tinker:

True, you cannot double book Palo but if you have one night booked and there happens to be openings on another night, they will typically allow you to dine more than once as a walk in guest!

Thanks so much for the input! We were only picking one Palo date, but I wasn't sure if I should do the first or the last night. We love Palo, but I couldn't remember when we'd booked in the past, so I didn't know if the first or last night would be better (since those were the reservations available). I should note, there seem to be reservations available for groups for 3 or 4 on these nights. I should have an answer about brunch very soon too... I'm leaning toward the last night though :goodvibes

I think the promenade lounge is where we've done most dismeets... I'm trying to remember the time, though. It was definitely before the emergency drill. I could probably do 2pm... any thoughts?

Welcome Aboard!!!

My opinion on Palo dining...I never pick the last night, simply because I usually really love my servers, and the last night is "special", kind of a goodbye to them, where you present your tips, and they do a little last night show. 1st night really isn't ideal because it is where you meet them, but I'd pick first over last night. Just my opinion:)

If I am cruising all adults, we usually pick Palo on Pirate night.

You should have no trouble on this cruise moving around Palo, by the way. This close, if there is any availability showing, you should be able to get what you want at Wavebands upon boarding.

That's a good point. We've always prepaid the tips and if I had to miss dinner on the last night we've given the tips at breakfast on debarkation day, but I had the same thoughts about those 2 nights. Definitely something to think about :goodvibes
