Gift Exchange Info

Meet & Greet in the Promenade Lounge Deck 3 at 3:00pm on Embarkation Day!!!!
We will meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00pm before the muster drill and sail-away to get to know one another briefly, put names to faces, and for those of you who would like to participate, we will also have a gift exchange!

Here's how it works:
Each family will bring a small gift to represent the area they are from, aka their hometown/state For example you could bring something from a local store like maybe a trinket from an artist in your hometown or if you are into sports bring something to represent your favorite home team. Last cruise on DCL, the gift I received was from a very sweet lady from Texas, she brought some local spices & coffee, along with a little Texas BBQ cookbook. It was really cool! It's just a simple gift nothing extravagant, that is unless you wanna give me a free cruise

No seriously just something light and fun.

At the meet & greet, I will have name-tags to hand out where we will put our DIS name along with our real name, so that we can identify one another easily Then for each person or family who has brought a gift, when you come in find me, I will be handing out some lei's & up at the bar looking like I am in charge : Also I'll be wearing a name-tag At that point I'll write down your name & put it into a bowl/hat for the drawing part. I will also jot your name down on a list of who is actually participating in the exchange. That way everyone who brings a gift will receive one in return You hang onto your gift and have a seat, get to know some other people, have a drink, just relax

Around 3:30pm, which should give everyone enough time to mosey on down, we will begin the exchange I will call a name from the list and that person will come up pull a name from the drawing pool and exchange gifts with the person whose name they have drawn.

Very simple lots of fun and it ensures that each person who brings shall receive And no one is pressured into bringing something, it's completely up to each family, but please do come and hang out with us either way!!!

Can't wait! It's gonna be sooooo much fun!!

latest news in our neighborhood - a bear has been sighted in a development about half a mile from here. Later, at a local Lowes. Wonder what s/he has in mind?

At this time of year, mom bears are kicking their young adult kids out of the nest. The kids, having no place special to go, often wander into neighborhoods and hang out for a while before being removed or moving on.

Sadly, now I need to get my list out, as I have no idea why I was wanting to register asap, other than my vacation OCD.

Heck, overall I need to get my list out anyways, we got the kids passports today finally, and it kind of hit me that I hadn't finished planning yet. I REALLY need to figure out about the resort to port transfers.

Also, I saw in the main cruise area that they have changed the way they do embarkation day and getting in the terminal/on the boat, anyone else read that?

OH, and my DCL passporter shipped this week too, several things all in the same week to get me psyched!

I have been following the new port arrival times news for a while now. It seems to be going ok but I think only 2 cruises have actually sailed under the new policy that went into effect on August 2nd. So hopefully in the next 92 days they will have worked out all the kinks and it will be smoooooooth sailing for us!!! Woohoo!!!

You won't get a DCL Passporter unless you buy it - it's a 'guidebook'.

The new boarding thing was implemented for the bigger ships, since the terminal capacity is somewhat less than the number of people trying to fit into it - when you fill out your online paperwork, you get a 'time' to arrive.

DUH!!! I knew that about the passporter!!! What's the consensus, are they worth it??

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I see!!! Well were flying down on Friday so we can be on the ship early for the FIRST TIME since we've been sailing DCL!!

And I guess I'll be filling out my online paperwork right after I book my shore excursions at 12:01am!!

Do you pay for the excursions when you book them, or just give them a credit card to hold them??
