November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

DIS NURSE said:
Okay.....finally sat down to fill out the cruise docs....and I knew I would have questions. I have read people months ago somewhere on these boards asking the same queations, but I failed to pay enough attention.

The "Welcome To The Islands of the Bahamas" sheet has me kinda' confused....
Arriving by? not an airplane....but by ship, so do I check the "Other Ship" box?

Flight # leave blank, right? We didn't get there by plane.

Date of Arrival? What date? What island are they referring to?
City Where you Boarded this plane/boat? Do I put Port Canaveral or Cape Canaveral?

Do the kids really have to sign the bottom?

Intended nights Stay?

Also, do the kids have to sign in the booklet? I know I sign underneath their names but do they sign also?

Thanks for any help on this! :flower:

OTHER BOAT
ARRIVAL 11/18/2005 - THAT IS THE ARRIVAL DATE TO THE BAHAMAS (unless we are cursed and don't get to go!)
Port Canaveral is where you boarded the ship.
You sign for the kids.

posting this with the knowledge i may incur "the wrath of disnurse" but...........I LOVE SUPER WALMART    .

our little town has only a nasty little local market and a safeway. while i support higher prices providing the excellent wages and benefits that my "bother and sister" union members recieve as safeway employees--THEY CHARGE WAY TOO MUCH AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR STATUS AS THE ONLY STORE IN TOWN. that said-our walmart just supersized on 11/1. i went in today to grab a couple of items (namely the harry potter books dh wants to read that i am not going to spend hours digging from the mess in our garage) and saw the beautiful produce, meats, deli....all at prices of at least 30% lower than i normaly pay. i was also impressed with their in-store made items enuf that i will get our airline grub from them (i'm sorry, but the paltry nuts and goldfish are not going to make it for a total of 7 hours of flying time :earseek: ). so i am a super walmart convertee.

survived p/t conferences-dd is getting all a's and b's and tested out (nation wide) in the top 25% percentile overall, top 1% for reading/vocab/etc. ds who we opted to keep in the 2nd grade due to focusing/maturity (since school lets them work at own pace despite grade level) has finished 2nd grade curriculum (we thought it would happen around christmas) and is doing 3rd grade work in most subjects. both teachers provided copies of anything they will miss (and dd has already done most of it over the past few weeks), and ds actualy ASKED FOR EXTRA WORK DURING VACATION!!! he asked if he could keep a daily journal of his activities to share when he gets home. i am so thankful!!! this is a little monkey who will spew info. re dna and the human anatomy (he draws detailed diagrams of the heart and digesitive system as well as very accurate double helix's :confused3 ) such that both we and the teachers are impressed with what is being taught outside our spheres of influance (yes, we now compare notes!), but insists he can't understand basic concepts (we've learned this can be common with adhd kids). so all in all i am so jazzed :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

well, i am going to go eat something before dh gets home and i run to my stress reducing massage :earboy2: tomorrow will be MAJAOR CRUNCH PACKING DAY! we are now at 36 hours till departure!!!

talk to ya'll later.

p.s.-took in the coinage to the bank today (kept telling kiddles that if they threw all of the loose change around the house into a container we would allocate it to their spending money when we took a "big vacation"). GRAND TOAL : $295. 36 :earseek: :earseek: sounds like "we" (dh and i) can reallocate some of the kiddle souvineer funds to the spa/margarita fund :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Welcome - welcome - welcome ---- as they say, don't sweat the small stuff, I'll take you 34 any time.... :rotfl2: Seriosuly, you should have seen what I did to FavoriteAunties family when I first started takeing the list - she had neices and nephews that had never been born.... :rotfl2:

Thanks for the prayers - if you are from Texas, were you caught up in Rita?

Hello, no I'm from a town just north of Dallas. But we did and still do have many families from Louisiana and Houston here due to Katrina and Rita. Our PD did everything to help the families in town and of course our Church did also. But thanks for the welcome!!!

And NO STORMS OR RAIN OR CURSES.......

I Like Wal-mart But Not The Super Wal-mart So Go Figure That.....a Trip To Said Store Is In The Cards For This Weekend. I Starting On Our Packing List And Realized Our Travel Kits Need Replenishment So I Will Have To Drive Further To Hit The Non-super Wal-mart Store....my Grocery Store Of Choice Is Publix And They, In My Mind, Cannot Compete With Wal-mart - Although There Are Some Good Deals On Certain Items. I Am One Of These Folk That Do Not Like Driving To 2 Or 3 Stores To Grocery Shop, Because I Cannot Obtain Evertyhing I Want At One Store....ok, True Confessions, I Do Not Like To Grocery Shop.....still Have Managed To Avoid Them After The Storm, Except For What Mother Needs.....but By Now They Should Have Restocked With Fresh Veggies, So A Trip To The Grocery S In Order This Weekend As Well.

THANKS - I'LL ADD THIS TO THE LIST TODAY AT WORK. I WANT TO PICK UP SOME HEAVIER STOCK PAPER TO PRINT THE LIST AND THE MAP ON. I DECIED TO USE THE SIMPLE USA MAP THAT SHOWS STATES AND CAPITOLS ONLY - AS IT FITS ON A STANDARD PAPER SHEET.

SOOOO, "FAIR WARINING' - YOU MAY NEED TO ASSIST IN HELPING YOUR CHILD FIND OUT WHERE HE/SHE LIVES......

RACE FOR THE LAST TO POST BEFORE WE CRUISE????

WHO WILL IT BE???????

WHAT WILL THE POST BE????

DO NOT - DO NOT DO NOT PUT FILM IN CHECKED LUGGAGE. Please place film in carry on bag. If you are goring through several inspections, you may wish to have them inpsected by hand. They will tell you that the x-ray does not hurt film. that is true - one x-ray will not hurt film up to 1000 asa (but I even question 800). Several inspections will hurt film. I posted the actual blurb from the Kodak website a while back on this subject.
Thank you..Thank You. Thank You!!! In the carry-on it goes.

Please add VIRGINIA to the list! Timely enough, DD10 is studying VA in school, so I am hoping that she will have all of the answers! I will hopefully post tomorrow.

How are all of you putting this on the back of the postcards? I am thinking of having DH print them out on large stickers to stick to the back. Or are you all having your kids write it out on the back?

The cruise can't come soon enough. DS4 keeps asking (like every minute) when we are going on the cruise. Those of you that kept it a secret must have realized something I didn't. Ugh.

DISNURSE: What room are you in? We are in 2071 & 2073. 2071 is right behind the new Ocean Quest and I am REALLY concerned with the noise factor. I am an extremely light sleeper. DH has a white noise program on his computer that I am sure we will be using.

Oh, DH will be getting unlimited internet access as he has some balls in the air that he doesn't want to miss. He claims that he won't be "working" just checking to make sure that nothing is amiss...yeah, right... :badpc:

I will be glad to add Virgina - but you need to post the information for me.......please.

I hand wrote mine, others used stickerts...I think if you use the search function on this theard you will find some examples. At this point, I think whatever is easier would be perfect!!!!!

Virginia's official state flag was adopted in 1861. The flag has a deep blue background with a white circle in the center. In the center are the words "VIRGINIA," and "SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS" (Latin for "thus always to tyrants"). Depicting the state's motto on the flag is the goddess Virtue (who is holding a sword and a spear), who has defeated a tyrant, who is lying on the ground, and is holding a chain and a scourge (a whip). Nearby is the tyrant's fallen crown. Virtue symbolizes Virginia and the tyrant symbolizes Britain. Red Virginia creepers and green leaves surround the scene. A white silk fringe is on the edge farthest from the flagstaff.

Thanks!

Please feel free to edit/delete as I have to run to volunteer in school! I was planning on waiting until DD10 got home so that she could do this, but this was easier.
