November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

CRUISE FUN :earsboy: CRUISE FUN :earsgirl: ALMOST TIME TO CRUISE.

Announcement - Choc-marg - We were packing for WDW and DH asks - do you have my wristband ready.......it was out of the wrapper and on his wrist the entire trip. (OK so it is no pback in the wrapper) but you would be proud. We "showed" off for our May Cruise - that is the thread with 100000000000 posts on it......many returning cruisers... And HAH, we had something they had not thought of and everyone admitted it was Cool :cool1: Way to go 7 Day Eastern :cheer2:

on to a lighter topic-am i the only person not concerned about their character breakfast?

I am also - but - there are some things that I cannot plan on the cruise. And I feel we will be at the character breakfast drinking only coffee so we can save our tummies for Palo's brunch. On our 4 day, the TA scheduled our breakfast in bed (we had a REAS, the same morning as Palo's - and BIB does not arrive until 8:30 -- we looked like stuffed tomatoes......The kids will not be at Palos brunch so they can eat at the CB and you guys can sit back, watch, enjoy them and then eat at Palo's....

i have a feeling that there will be a lot of work on disney's part to accomodate dining changes

Not really, remember all bookings used to be on the ship...you show up and ask if you can have ....., they check the computer and say - ok or nope.

GREEN is my favourite colour but an emerald green not the DIS GREEN. The first thing I made, months back, were the door signs out of the Mickey paint chips....they did not have DIS green, so we used different shades...and I am not changing now...The bands are great, not quite glow in the dark, but close.

GOOD LUCK to those of you shopping at Walmart of kids costumes. We have ours made, Hollywood pirates with lots of gold...but I still have to sew on DH buttons for his shirt, I do not do button holes, so it will be snaps, and he needs a sash and I need ??? hum, well, that;s not fair.....

fformickey said ...I think, that I will book this one (LS Pirates) and forgo the car rental. I guess with some of the money that I have saved, we can do this one. Now I must buy some under water cameras

Local dive shops here have great underwater cameras that are re-loadable for around $20.00 - but you are in Ill??

We will stick with the rental car....we enjoy touring the islands and if our refresher dive checks out next weekend, we will release the car for St. Thomas.....So have fun plotting, I mean planning, the LS takeover bid.....

I really cannot wait...but I still have over 30 postcards to sign.....And I want more door stuff....mine is too small......and I need find some good (or passable) Florida wine for our wine exchange....and....I still need to hem too dresses, one formal and one semi-formal....and (ok - so I am not ready to leave yet....)

We are back from our week with the Mouse. No lines but lots of heat. The line to check in yesterday was out the door so everyone was coming in for the weekend. Haley had a ball and decided that the castle was "Haley's Castle". We have pictures on the disneyphotopass website so if you would like to see send me a PM for the password. Haley got kissed on the forehead by Snow White and then by Alice in the parade. It was magical! :wizard:/
We are so glad you had such a nice trip. I was wondering if we would be there at the same time and could meet and saw HI, but we were not sure when we were leaving, and you are right, it was crowded.....The castle is lovely, I adore what they did. We will go back with the good camera so I can take shots. We did not battle our way into the parks earlier due to the crowds, but we should be able to get some good shots in October. I will PM to see the pics.....Love pictures of WDW.

We are trying to decide wether to just fly down next time since gas cost us over $120 just to get home. We can switch our tickets that we were supposed to use for CA for a total of $150. Seems like a no brainer huh? :teacher:

And driving is less stressful....If you drive, you have to park the car as well and that is an extra $70. But if you fly you need to book the shuttle from Orlando (or is it free?) Higher math in order....

I just checked our dining time and it says Late 8:30.... 8:00 would be better - 6:30 would be even better, but I'm not going to worry about it. I checked the availability for Palo's and only Saturday night was left. We'll just worry about all of that when we board - I know they had lots of opening last time we sailed.

According to the Disney TA I spoke to "Late 8:30" is normal....Everyone with late dining will have 8:30 posted unless they call and request a change. If you call and request, you will find out on board if you get the requested change. As this is a "trial" I wonder if they will still be trying it in November. We will see.

OK.....getting caught up with you guys....and how come each time I am away there is an important post.....hummmmmmmm

My wife and I have a love/hate relationship with Wal-Mart. Love the really low prices, hate the fact that all the employees there are clueless. We save 40 to 50 dollars there when we food shop but we always leave the store grumbling about how much we hate going there.

And to top it all off I work at a Wal-Mart distribution center :guilty: . I have been there for eleven years :faint: . I so wish that corporate would slow down the expansion plans and work on the "customer service" and "shopping experience" within the stores.

You guys are right about the "Star Wars Bar" thing. My wife and I are constantly shaking our heads at what we see in our local super centers, WHAT ARE THEY THINKING????? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Oh well,

Frank

I agree!! It is the same for me, but I've been with Walgreens in Distribution for 22+ years and some of the store folks make you wonder how they even make it to work. Of course, some of the DC folks make you wonder too. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

right after my dd was born a walgreens opened up in the town we were in. i loved the drive through pharmacy. i could have a scrip. called in then just drive on through :goodvibes i also find them great when traveling-if there is a perscription you need you can just call the local and they handle accessing the info. from the computer.

have to laugh whenever i see that anyone works in "distribution"-when i worked in the welfare department, anyone who claimed employment in "independant sales" or "distribution" usualy sold their wares out of a ziplock baggie :rotfl: then i had the "independant contractors"-mostly women, who never knew the last name of anyone they did bsns. with, but most often it was "john". :rotfl:

does snorkel equipment come with the gig?

No, you don't get a gig with the snorkel equipment. Just mask, fins, & snorkel. If you're looking to perforate any sea life, you'll need to bring your own weapon.

OKAY, I'm just kidding. I just couldn't pass that one up! Sorry!

I just bought a waterproof housing for our little digital camera. I was surprised to see how many cam's this available for. But, brace yourself if you go looking! They are NOT cheap! But, neither is a Sealife Reefmaster digital camera.

SO, I've been out practicing! The last pic is from a "night dive" ;)

Good Morning - one day closer to boarding the MAGIC.

AOLTODAY - don't scare the folks re underwater cameras...you can get a disposable film camera or even a reloadable film camera for under $20.00...... perhaps not as good as digital, but it might be more cost effective.

RESERVATIONS - For those of you who did not get the reservations - don't give up and keep checking back. We have decided NOT to use our Seahorse Catameran and I will release it today, unless one of you wants it (On Castaway Cay). If so, PM me and I will see if we can substitute names with the Disney TA.

Sorry, but first PM, first offer.... :rotfl2:

But, isn't it my job to scare folks here? ;) It's a very personal thing and there are lots of options! You can get waterproof disposable film cameras cheap and they work quite well for most. There are also disposable digital cameras, but I haven't seen one yet. There's quite a dollar jump to the waterproof housing, like I got. Then there's another level (like the Sealife Reefmaster camera) where you can do much more sophisticated photography. I'm sure there are options beyond that and more between, but I haven't researched them. And, of course, rental equipment is always an option as well (both at home & in port). For just a snorkel trip at Castaway Cay, I would stick with the disposable variety, too. But, of course, I have other plans (My DW would call that a "hidden agenda" :earsboy: )

awoltoday-love the undersea life you captured on film :goodvibes

anyone out there want a pair of brand new kids water shoes (red and black w/ a "transformer" on the front, size kids 10)? cleaning out the closets, found them with the tag still holding them together-don't fit anyone here. i can mail them ahead of time or bring them along-your choice.

But, you are risking the loss of your techno-geek status if you use a film camera!!! ;) Seems like a good deal on those, though. Maybe I'll pick one up for the kids to abuse - don't have to worry about them dropping it in the water.

I had to post something - we were almost to page 2 (thanks to my DW for the heads up on that).

Here's a pic from our recent shark dive! Talk about fish that might want to eat you! You have to very careful when diving with these (and a four year old). :drinking:

Hello Yal......A busy day at work taking care of premie twins girls who are cute as little kittens!

Funny you all speak of cameras a lot lately.....must be mental telepathy! :confused3 I just now finally took the plunge into the digital camera world and on Sunday bought our first and only digital picture taker.

I researched a bunch and for the past 8 months the Canon SD400 (5.0 mp) has been c.net's editors choice and....since it was on sale at our newly opened Best Buy, I couldn't help myself! Our new Best Buy store is going to take away lots of business from Wal Mart here in Bend, OR.....maybe we will see the teeth to tatoo ratio steadily climb at Best Buy in the coming months?! :earseek:

I knew I needed to take the plunge well before our cruise to play around with it so it was meant to be, IMHO! :goodvibes

I have seen the underwater gizmos for the digital cameras....yes, VERY expensive! $250 for the camera I just bought. I don't even consider it 'cause I think I had that plan figured out long ago thanks to an ancient old DIS thread stating that the best underwater disposable cameras were made by Fugi (film). I have bought 3 of them and they are already packed! :earboy2:
How do you like THAT for being overly organized and anal? :wave2:

It would be nice to hear from STB on the Beach....getting a little concerned again. If you are out there and you have a moment at all, can you let us know your whereabouts and if you guys are okay? :confused3

is a techno-geek someone who bites the heads off of audioanimatronic chickens? (if so my dh may be banned from splash mountain) :teeth:

Dis nurse pack your camera and film in your carry on bag. The xray machine at the airport will mess up the film.
