November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

Where the heck are those Arizona goofballs, anyway? OOOPS! I called someone a name! Sorry! :goodvibes

awoltoday has some reading to do! ....but he must be busy adding the finishing touches to face makeup. :teeth:

On late dining....although you gotta' remember I haven't done it yet nor was staggered dining times ever a factor in the past.....but have researched this one high and low.
I wasn't about to feel rushed getting off a port of call (hurrying from my afternoon booked excursions) to get back on the ship and into the shower. That just doesn't sound like maximizing your vacation to me.
Castaway Cay would be the worst one cause you want to spend every last second there and on top of early dining you have to pack up your stuff to put outside your stateroom door that night.
I can always feed my kids from Pinocchio's (sp?) or even Topsider's buffet early at 6 p.m. (selected nights i guess on that one?)...there's always room service, too. I like the thought of going to the shows early. I have heard this one a lot....the pools clear out (especially the kid ones) when they all have to go get ready for early seating and you have lots more pool enjoyment. :)
I want to slow down and not feel rushed to go do anything!
That is only my take and what I felt was a good match for our kids. :flower:

stay out of trouble, thats my middle name. After working with very special people that we call the " public" ,you learn a lot about people and what makes them tick. The sad part about my job is people have left and went to the police department, fire department and become nurses, saying that it is a lot less stressful. :teeth: I pass the day by planning cruise and vacation for the family.

as for me, whenever we get on board the ship is fine. this will be our first dcl trip with preset kids registration, palo resies, and spa resies (so no rushing around).

we are waited for early dining, but i think we will stick with late even if offered earlier. it is more relaxing to not have to rush (and it's not like the kiddies will starve :) ).

last but not least-a reminder for our newbies: as a safety precaution, you can scan your passports, proof of car insurance (if renting a car), travel docs, etc...into a file on your p.c/email the file to yourself-then in an emergency you can access the info. from another computer (vs. having to arrange for someone to air express them from home).

o.k.-better check my spelling and grammer, i may get quoted on another thread :rotfl:

MomtoGav&Eric:
Almost forgot to mention that everyone claims it is easy to switch to late seating from early.....the reverse can be next to impossible. There is someone on a waiting list ready to take your spot.
Just make sure you are 100% sold before you jump. :flower:

We are waitlisted for early, but after talking to DH today, I think we will drop ourselves off of that. I think the kids would get more out of being awake for the shows than for dinner. Besides, if I can get them to make it thru dinner, then maybe they will sleep later the next day. :cool1: I would prefer to get LAP, though. I don't like Parrot Cay, and have made Palo ressies for Mon & Thurs. nights (we have 2 rooms...) which would make Palo hit on P nights...

Was just over on a link (with princesshaleysmom) snoopin' out what other ships will be docked with us on St. Maarten and St. Thomas. I think I like the fact that there will only be one other ship with us on St. Maarten and only two other ships with us on St. Thomas. :flower:

Not too crowded....boy, some days there are LOTS of ships in these ports. Do they stack them on top of eachother? :guilty:

Be very careful... I am watching you. :rotfl:

PrincessH..
glad the ears made it so fast. Hey, I went to UPS and bought a wine mailer ($7). It should be really safe in this puppy.

Gosh, after reading what exciting lives you all have, I'm embarrassed telling you about ours! But, here it goes....I'm a stay at home Mom. My husband will be retired next year, and we already receive AARP! Yes, we have young children and yes they are mine!! I'm not Grandma! And, yes, he is the father!!

I've really enjoyed reading the thread. I have the over the shoe holders, and my door sign is ready!

Looking forward to meeting you disnurse! And, the rest of you! We should all be in good hands this cruise. We won't need the doctor, we could call for a nurse! :goodvibes

o.k. i am jealous! i somehow got on the aarp mailing list in my early 20's and received their mailers for years-then i retire in my early 40's and they say i can't join cuz i don't meet their minimum age criteria?! is it not an association of "retired people"? :confused3 i want a membership!

well, we are just returned from the pumpkin patch, and the kiddies are "blockbustering" in their rooms. i have been chided for eating all of the "good" halloween candy from the goodie caldroun (i tell them that's why i buy plenty of the yucky stuff for the trick or treaters, but do they listen to me...) so the end of october is officialy here.

i've been a complete slug on accomplishing anything this weekend, so the big push will start tomorrow! hey disnurse-have you tried any of your dream dinners yet, how are they? i can sched. my december session come tuesday.

well, gonna go eat and do some more laundry (my goal is an sparkling clean house with nothing to do but relax when we return home  ).

Guys, I'm soooo grateful I have YOU!! I didn't even think of calling a dentist!! DUH!! TOOTH PROBLEM - CALL DENTIST!!! Let's all take a moment of silence and pray for my little guy, because he has ME FOR A MOM!!!

I was trying not to freak over the blood, the huge chunk of lip he was missing and the wobbley tooth!!!! I normally phone my sister who is younger,,yet wiser due to the 3 kids she has already popped out! But, her loving husband put her on a plane to Atlanta on Friday to meet her best friend for a little R-n-R. And, I couldn't get a hold of my mom,,,,,so I turned to YA'LL -- Thank you,,,Thank you,,,,,Thank you,,,, - I phoned the dentist this evening just to hear their voice message to know what time they will be in the office tomorrow. I told DH that it may not fall out, (keeping fingers crossed) it may "die" thus turning off colored - But, it should be OK - Probably need an x-ray.....so he is breathing easier now too!!! Again,,THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

oh,,, and the late seating comments Dis Nurse made,,,DITO!! We always book late seating,,,it prevents the "Babe, I SAID COME ON,,,WE ARE LATE"..."SON, I'M NOT GOING TO TELL YOU AGAIN,,,PUT YOUR SHOES ON!!!" We will arrive at dinner nice and calm! (Hopefully)

"If you want to view paradise, just look around and view it"

"Paradise" crashed into my house at about 80 mph last Monday. Fortunately, it damaged only the screen on my lanai. Someone's add-on back porch went flying. My son laughed when I called it the flying backyard. We lost the rest of our fence. Frances and Jeanne took most of it last year. A couple of trees are gone too.

However, we are all healthy and are really looking forward to a great vacation.

I bet you guys are ready for a calm vacation now! Glad you are all ok! :cheer2:

So glad we have heard from you. I think you and Chip&Dale&Fun were the Wilma casualties. Sorry to say it like that! But I really hope this cruise is a delight for all of you who live in Hurricane alley!

Are we gonna' just meet with C&D&F on the ship? I suppose we are in for a story or two!

Being that Halloween is only tomorrow....I am just reminding everyone that we have a matter of days to set the time and date of our wine/chocolate/whatever meeting!

:confused3 ....any suggestions?
I am off to go watch Desparate Housewives......I want to LAUGH MORE today!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I love to laugh :rotfl2: and lately, it has been easy!

.....in part thanks to you guys!

Good Morning - I have not had a chance to review the boards, but the office is now up and running as the house still does not have power. I will try to catch up unless someone posts a quick update for me.

Thanks for all your pre-storm good luck messages of concern for my family as Wilma wrecked our area. Sam and I are both safe, the house is secure, but the winds tore our landscape, fence and roof. Sadly, we lost our Honeybell, we planted when we moved in 15+ years ago. It was home for birds, butterflies and shade for our home. We have spent the last 7 days in solid labour on our home and helping neighbors. Fence work, hauling 50 gallons of tar up to Sam on the roof, raking and cutting every tree or shrub. More is left to do.

My Mother's home fared far better, with only a few limbs down. She was with us of course through the storm and returned home yesterday after her power was restored. This was our main impediment to the cruise, whether Mother would have power, she does so we are cruising....

Hope Lake Worth Dad is ok as he is in the path. We had the eye directly, WOW......more later...

I am tired.....but we are safe and will be stronger for it...The neighborhood rallied round, friends are supportive, we are lucky! Irene

So true, Paradise is lost around our home...

Glad to see you are safe. We have similar stories to tell.......We will have a great time on this vacation, provided we do not spend it all in the hammock asleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hauling 50 gallons of tar up to the roof to hand to Sam is downright exhausting, and I only had to do it once, so far!!!!!

I have a list (it is posted on one of the cruise boards) about what to do before the cruise. It does NOT say, have a hurricane, lose power, wash stinking clothes in the bathtub, take cold showers, sweep the house 5 times a day because of the leaves, walk the cats on a leash because of the debris, nope none of these things are on the list....No - that list says, clean the house, wash the sheets......

Clean sheets? HAH...It is good that we are staying in a hotel before we meet with you guys, so we can get a good hot shower!!!...And you will recognize us - we will be the couple with all the bruises......and scratches........
