Two things I now really wonder about.....

Do you think it really makes a difference in "spirit" on the ship when there a lot of DIS'ers?....as opposed to unknowing "non DIS'ers?"

What is Friday night chat night and how do I get onto it? I have tried and I guess I don't understand it or it's benefits?

Hi Dis Nurse, Sarah, my DD, pretty much summed it up. Last year for our November 13th cruise, a bunch of us got together on AOL IM about once a week and chatted. It was really nice to get to know each other. I think we have had one chat together for this cruise. (Dee, is that right?) We've all been kinda busy this summer and haven't been chatting much, but will probably start again soon. When you get your aim name, just let us know and we will add it to our buddy list, so we can invite you into the chat.

Dee, the eastern is my favorite too. I love the extra day at sea, but I guess I can suffer on the Magic for the Western.

Linda..I will suffer for DCL. No matter what I am gonna have a good time. I would have a better on the eastern.

That is correct I beleive there has been one chat that I am aware of. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Disnurse, I do not think it matters if they are diser or not. They all tend to be the same breed of cat. I have not really experienced any bad cruisers. If I have, my memory fails me and that is a good thing.

Well I need to get some of this wedding stuff done so I will be in touch later.

Has anyone heard from Pat. She seems to be missing again.

I use MSN for IM... will it work together with aim? I know DH uses iChat and it will not chat with MSN, yet one of my chat buddies uses Yahoo messenger and it will converse with my MSN.

I think it is wonderful to have DISers on the cruise !!! But it has nothing to do with 'unknowing'...it is just fun to have virtual friends there.....

DH and I were sailing by ourselves in 11/04 ....my biggest worry was dinning room companions. Thanks to this board and the AOL Chats we started having on Tuesday evenings at 10 pm eastern I met the Hannomom gang who were also adult cruisers....we shared a table with them and hooked our resies with House_Of_Princess and the KYCruisers and we had a great time!!!
There were other people who regularly chatted with us on AOL and posted here and we never met on the ship....but it was still fun to pre-plan and get knowledge from people who were repeat cruisers........

I REALLY don't know if MSN is compatible with AOL IM but it is simple to sign up for AOL IM and u could use the same user name for both....let me know if you want an invite to join.

There was a newcomer (it's late, I don't remember who....sorry) who has dd's near the same age as my little ones. Mine atoc (at time of cruise) are 14, almost 13, 8, and almost 6. But then, I'd be able to hook up with you if I knew where to find that blasted list! I'll look again.

Time to start chat night yet??? I think it is!!

I have never done the western but I LOVED the eastern ..... so make me like the western, too

Well we filled Jeff's oldest son in on the trip plans since we are sailing on his b-day! He's so excited!!! Now I have someone else I can fill in on all the DIS stuff. We're still trying to coordinate permission from the ex on allowing Jeff's youngest to go and things are kind of hush hush on that end.

DS is considering going on to the DIS so that he can meet up with people his age and then have people on the ship to hang out with. I told him he had plenty of time so not to panic....he's already ready to start shopping! My kind of kid!!

Things are going good on our end here! Hope all had a great weekend.

Hello everyone...

I must first and foremost admit to not reading more than a handful of the previous posts... I have quite a bit of catching up to do.

So here's the gig... DH and I were on the 4/27/05 Western (first DCL) and couldn't pass up the rebooking deal. Picked this cruise because, like many, DH would be perfectly happy is the ship just stayed at CC the entire time.

So, we haven't really talked about whether or not we are going through with this one yet but there's a lot of time between now and then so we'll see.

In the mean time, it seems I should stay current.

So here's the stats:

Me - 27 (at time of cruise)
DH - 28 (it's really timing since he's only 3 months older but whatever)

So far, I'm justifying this to myself by calling it our 4th anniversary cruise (anniversary is really Nov. 2). Who knows, maybe by that time we'll be ready to bring home "a little souvenir."

I look forward to sharing info with all of you.

I am organizing a DIS Board DCL Circle Journal and thought it would be fun to start in Oct 2005 and end in October 2006. We would then have the option of bringing our finished journals on the cruise to share and meet the "artists" in person.

Geez guys! We go quiet for so long that I wasn't reading this everyday and you go crazy on me. So, I had a little catching up to do. About the Yahoo/MSN/AIM question. There are free software packages you can download to have them all work as one. The one I use and is very popular is Trillian. They have a basic version and a pro. The basic is free and the pro is something like $20. The free version works just fine for me but the pro version has many bells and whistles that are very nice if you are into that stuff.

Janice - got your PM... just let me know ages if you have any for the kids. Otherwise, I can give you just adult rates.

We have a sort of busy weekend of getting things ready for back to school. I have my niece and nephew for about a week beginning next week so I wanted to get all my stuff done because 4 kids just doesnt sound like a party when you need to go shopping.
