Has anyone gifted themselves money to their stateroom account? If how did that work for you I have the form printed out? Did you like it or was it easier to just put it on the credit card?

i think that jackie did this (or at least she planned to) but you will have to wait for her to wake up to answer you . . .

okay, okay, I'm awake (more or less).

WendyJersey, yes I have your address. The Navigator Dee is working on is for the DIS group only. It will have group events, list of DISers (people have provided her with the amount of personal information they want to share). It will also have a ship map with DIS cabins highlighted and the infamous DRINK LIST.

Devin, I plan on calling DCL and buying a room credit with my Disney Visa...so I get the rewards $ too. I was waiting for the next billing cycle (which I think I'm in by now).

Now I have some questions:

For those of you who are sending boxes down to the ship...when are you going to do that? (BTW, the info for HOW to is on page one...or there's a link there.) I just don't remember the recommended timing on this.

Any of you crafty people got any idea on how we could decorate the table(s) for DIS lunch? I do own some lime green baloons and yarn and curling ribbon, so the only thing I came up with was tying some baloons to the backs of chairs. :confused3 I was trying to think of something so people could find us.

OK....time to get ready for work....

I can answer the dive bootie question since I have recently been to a dive shop where they tried to sell us everything they had in stock! :rotfl:

If you swim in cold water, you need dive booties. They are like neoprene slipper socks. Also, some swim fins were designed for use with dive booties (instead of being designed for use with the bare tootsies). The rental ones for snorkeling do not require booties. Nor do the ones we purchased - see, we did show some restraint in our snorkel purchasing! :teeth:

Melanie,

Glad to hear you made your reservations. Are you flying out of Tampa?

Jackie,

I PM'd you with the braclet info.

I went last Thursday as well and the same thing happened to me. I could have walked out of there with enough stuff to dive to the titanic. I kept my money in my wallet but I think I am going to go back on Friday and buy some stuff. But I don't think I need to visit 20,000 Leagues under the Sea

Congratulations Melanie We knew you would make it! :cool1:
Jackie Thanks for all your hard work on the braclets we all appreciate it! :cheer2:
I think you should wear your boas to lunch, it is unlikely that anyone will have trouble finding you with those on!, or you could use them to decorate the table! Have fun in Vegas I will PM you tonite with my address.
There is a great thread of the Wonder in dry dock. PoohJen posted a great picture as she drove by to work. The boat is in Virginia for two weeks. All you locals should go pay her a visit. I wish the new changes were going to be on the Magic as well, I will be happy with new shampoo!!

Welcome NEWBIEs I'm glad you are finally crawling out of your life to stop by and say

Well, sad to say I had a big surprise all planned for my sister -but DCL wouldn't do it!!! ARRRGGHHH

I asked for a pre-arranged meeting with Captain Jack to give her a gift... BOOO HOOO - but the letter did say he'll be about for photos! Ah DUH!

Anyway, if I had the Walt Suite I bet they would have done it. (I'm not complaining really) it's just that when it's for SOME YOU LOVE - you want these things!

Oh, well I can still keep trying Oprah for Oscar tickets! (Did I say that out loud?)

I'm getting really excited to meet Dee in Vegas - then I can totally focus on our CRUISE.

OH - before I forget there is a medicine I saw in my Conde Nast Travel magazine for mosquito repellant. It's a pill that the doctor prescribes. Has anyone ever taken it? I guess you really need it if traveling to Africa - and you need to start about 6 weeks out... just can't find the name of the pill!

Ok time to go home!

Thanks, ladies, for the welcomes. And thanks to you, Wendy, for thinking about me regarding the bracelet. Please let me know how I can pay you back. Do you have a Paypal account? I'll be glad to do it that way. I'm getting more and more excited about this as we get closer. Looking forward to meeting everybody.

I've got the 10:30 parasailing booked as well (I think my friend Lysa does too). We're the 2 dare-devils/nut-cases in our group! Let's just say if there's no photo to PROVE I parasailed, then no one will believe it!

Hello? Excuse me? Hey! Just because I haven't committed to parasailing yet doesn't mean I'm not a nutcase, too! I can be just as much of a nutcase as the next gal--even more so if challenged. Just for that, I think I'm going to sign up to parasail. (Although I was at a workshop last week and the facilitator told a parasailing story that made me stop and rethink the possiblity of doing it myself. Something about it being a good thing he had dextrous toes that could grab onto his bathing suit before it floated away for good and the timing of the stranger on the boat he had asked to take a picture of him since his wife refused to go on the boat.)

:thumbsup2 Absolutely correct! :) The fins I bought on Ebay are Apollo Bio Fin Pro split fins, which have an open heel with a strap. Without the bootie the strap would rub my heel raw.

I bought more expensive fins because I am planning on getting my open water dive certification. I had planned on having it in time for the cruise, but it just didn't work out. I will likely take the classroom and pool portion of the class this winter and then take my open water in the spring in a local quarry. :)

Nani, good idea about boa usage. :thumbsup2

OK, I'm finally done with my work and heading home.....will be a tad tardy for chat....WAIT UP FOR ME!!!!

....I had to fight my way through the crowd that was exiting the Phantom. I asked people and they said it was wonderful.

Thanks, Dee, for the report live from the Venetian in Las Vegas.

Phantom of the Opera is one of our all time favorite musicals. (DW saw it twice in L.A. with Michael Crawford. We saw it together in London. I saw it on Broadway. And we saw the national touring company together in L.A.) Last November, we visited the Garnier Opera House in Paris -- the site of Phantom.

The L.V. production is so new, we wanted to get some feedback before we booked it in October. I read that the L.V. show was shortened to 95 minutes without intermission. But, the feedback sounds promising.

The other show we are considering is Tony Bennett. (DW and I have seen him twice -- at the Hollywood Bowl with Diana Krall, and at the Disney Concert Hall. He is the consummate performer!)

We already have tickets to Cirque du Soleil's Beatles "Love," and are looking forward to it.

Have a great time in L.V.

Don't overlook Pinot Brasserie at your hotel. It's a Joachim Splichal restaurant (as is Patina in L.A. and Catal in Downtown Disney).

Cheers!

We saw the the original cast in Toronto at the Pantages(sp?) theater....many years ago. It was very cool. :thumbsup2 :smooth:
