November 11, 2006 - MAGIC - Special Western "Double Dip" Cruise 11/11/06

Have you kids been reading trip reports? I've recently heard good things about Mr Sanchos and about the dune buggies (as well as Paradise Beach). If I run across them again, I'll come back and post a link here for you.


For those of you going on the David & Ivan tour I just saw something about The Cat's Meow (where we meet up for the tour) and enjoying that restaurant and the beach right there....even had a picture of the Cat's Meow....I'll go hunt it down.

Here's some of it:

Got off the ship with group 1 at 800 am. went straight to Cats Meow...it was FANTASTIC!! we felt like we were in a corona commercial! beautiful water, great people. hung out there for about 30 min. talking to owner and pix. got a coke, and headed to David and Ivan AC vans. left group there. they had a great time, ate and drank, said great food. DH and DS got there around 11. slept in...ate and then they all watched world cup with the staff in the bar.! they gave their day and A.

Today is Pirates day can't wait to see it!

Yes, and I'll be in the room asleep - I can't keep up with you two for 12 hours... I went home and just crashed. Yes, it's really 4:00 a.m. Long story but here's the jist : The drama - "I'm worried about where you guys were" saga - saga - I realized when I checked my messages it was because she wasn't meeting with Kathy for whatever reason and wanted to hook up with us cuz she knew we were out having a good time!

(Too bad I erased them) so you could get the "real feel" she wanted to hook up with us and was left for hours not knowing... that's why the drama... had NOTHING to do with worry - but that was the only "tool" in her bag to pull out. Frankly, it worked out just the way it was supposed to - because there was NO WAY I would have wanted her to stop us from Fashion Square mall part of the day. Anyway, let's just hope she doesn't pull the rug out on the Disney Part of the trip for Miss V!

Oldest son works at a movie theater and he said it has been CRAZY this weekend with the opening of Pirates. He was worried about Superman but Pirates was way busier! Can't wait to see it ourselves.

Our line was so long it went outside - in 110 degrees!!!! Thank God for shade! And we started lining up at 1 (movie was 2:20 pm.)

You guys are brave souls. Sad to say that I have not even seen the first one. DH wants to see this one (he has seen the first one), but will wait for the DVD. He is not much for crowds, except for WDW..go figure. They even have POC hee in 3D. Imagine how long those lines are.

Maybe if we are lucky it will be playing on the cruise along with cars. I might break down and even go see them. I am just not much of a movie watcher. I can watch law and order and some cooking shows for hours though. That is why I do not turn tv on, it sucks the life right out of me and I get nothing accomplished.


Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Little loney here without my new grandbaby. Her parents took her out of town for a family reunion. Hard to believe she is 1 month old today. I sure do like staying here with her. Guess you all get how much!

Sorry I haven’t replied but we have had more losses to our family this week. At the funeral for my farther in-laws brother (they were not really close) and his sister who he was really really really really close to, had a massive heart attack passed on Friday morning. This will be a terrible loss to our family. Fortunately my nephew was with him to see to it the he made it home safe and kept him as calm as possible under the circumstances.
I am not ashamed to say that I am just about tired of Death this year.

Anyway I got a response to my planning kit and she said everything is ok with it. We were going to get a photo package but I think for the $900.00 I am going to buy a really nice camera, and a video camera.

I talked to her yesterday. She said she'd email a confirmation today but haven't seen it yet.....

No luck on combining receptions at all. Jen said it compromises the integrity of DFTW. She said there is a special party you can have but it costs extra and I figure we'll be able to see each other by working it out ourselves.

I got on here to tell you all that I watched the Wonder sail and it made me want to be there. I am sad. In four months we will be getting ready to go on our cruise, but I wnat to go now. I am willing to take a 3 day cruise just to get me started. Anyone else want to come along?

Becky, we will likely do a beach day in Cozumel as well. Heard Playa Mia is good (lots of vendors to deal with though). I've heard of Mr. Sanchos but no reviews. Anyone else heard of where to hang at the beach in Cozumel?

We've decided to spend the day at Paradise Beach in Cozumel. Anyone joining us???? The deal clincher was that they now offer a catamaran snorkeling trip, which we really wanted to do -- did it in Nassau and had a blast! It looks like a fun day and the beach has gotten good reviews here and on other boards, although a few people say the sand is a bit rough since the hurricane.

We may do Paradise Beach too, not positive yet. Our gang from Elk Grove is going to have a pre-cruise party to hang out, plan stuff, and generally get excited about the cruise (anything to keep our minds off the 100+ degree heat we've been having the past few days. It REALLY makes me wish we'd already put a pool in our yard! Just dreaming of floating in the water makes me feel a few degrees cooler...

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Michelle and the family. You guys have had to deal with far to much stuff.....it's really time for a vacation!

I know what you mean about photos. The big money for them is the negatives. I'm not sure what we'll end up doing. I'd like to have the negs so that I can make people copies plus the CD so that I can play the slideshow for our reception here back home...but it's ALOT of money!

Jennifer had a problem with my email so she had me resend it Friday late afternoon and fax it too. I'll know tomorrow if all is well.....

I have a pretty good Camera now you are welcome to borrow it I can burn them to a cd on the ship. I am planning on bringing my Lap top and I found my DVD cd bunner drive so I am good. And I have a bout 400 blank cds now (there not that expensive and I forget what house I leave them over and just buy 50 more)

I would really like to thank everyone for there thoughts and prayers. With Michelles Grandmother, Uncle, and Aunt. And I just found out Firday that MY Aunt Died on Farther day from canser of the Tounge. ( I really didn't know her that well We would go to visit but I was young) My mother didn't tell me till I bought up Earl and Sally It has been a really Tough couple months.
My real consern is with my farther en law. He was REALLY close to her. I gave him an extra prayer this morning.
Although he had a pretty good stress reducer last night to the tune of a good dent in the Keg and just about a bottle of Jack. I do condone that by anymeans but sometimes it is just what is need to let go to at least a couple hours and get a good nights sleep.
Again thank you all I have relaied your payers and thoughts to my Wife had her Farther nad they really thank you all


Now come on Cruise I am more than ready and after Tuesday I don't think I will be the only one ready.
