Chance of snow showers? Glad its not me . Fla has been :sunny: and close to 90.
Jackie
David is such a cutie. I only wish I could play too. But sadly there in no way Anglina could do it. So it looks like on 11/14 we will be playing on Mahulja(sp) beach and doing a little shopping.

I may just have to join you Jackie! Of course, I may just have to bring my DH along too! He wouldn't like for me to go play without him :teeth:

Short touch base from me, at work today while the sisters head up to Sedona. Lots of shopping yesterday and I'm very very ti ti (tired).

Spot DUDE - Jackie told me your story last night at dinner about the bike incident - how horrible! That little Spot sure is a good luck totem for you!

I too am looking forward to the ruin excursion! Holy guacamole - if David isn't an incentive to stay on my program, nothing is!

Ok, all have a great day - talk to ya later!

Shelly,
We had to change from Cruisetoberfest too. This will be just as great, except we have to wait almost 4 weeks longer!! :sad2:
We have two boys too - only it looks like you started about a decade before us. Ours are 7 and 5.

Curious: How much did the changing of dates cost you? We booked Cruisetoberfest 18 months in advance and then had to change it in February due to Dh's work conflicts. Luckily, the rates had not gone up SOOO much and after Much Searching and Switching to Costco, we are only paying about $300 more than originally planned. Now, if Dh says he can't go again.... :furious:

Jennifer

Jennifer,

Our change was a little more dramatic than just the dates. Because DS#1 decided he wanted to come also we did a lot of looking at numbers and the best choice was to go from a category 5 to two category 9's. He is 6' and his brother is 5'6" so it would have been like 4 adults in the room and it was like $1200 more for the category 5 (one room!). It is $581 more for the change we made. Whew, sorry that was so long.

We got a small snow squal yesterday and the temp went way down and that it where it seems it is going to stay till saterday anyway. I was late for work yesterday because the snow, It never fails as soon as I take the snow tires off it snows. I took them off friday after inventory. :rotfl:
Sitting on the beach at CC and listing to a little regge on the sat radio got me to work yesterday.

Wendy & Kris......told you he was a cutie! ::yes::

Jackie...do you know how many people David and Ivan will take at one time?? Or, how many different tours they sponsor/day? (Just two, or do they have more people working with them??) This was the only excursion that seemed to interest everyone here...Ok, so DD4 is generally up for anything...but the rest of us are interested in this one...

Well hello Wojo. I toook a look at you web site and I see that you are a true VW fan back when the engine was in the back. I am a VW fanatic (type 3 nut). My first car was a square back I owned that car till 20002 when I sold it under pressure from my farther and DW (I was storing at his house)MY DD had spent 14 days in PICU. shortly after we had moved to PHX and I my insurance had not kicked in yet. We were planing to move back to Mass. And I needed the money to move.

I understand about giving up VW's. I had a '72 Beetle before we moved to Columbus in '97. We bought a fixer-upper house, so all of my time for projects went into the house. Also, the house we bought has only a one car garage...not much room for rehabbing cars. I'm looking to get into rehabbing an older motorcycle over the winter.

Jackie is up in Sedona today and tomorrow with my other DS. She'll be back on Friday and I'll ask her to check in and ask your question. We talked about it the other day, and when to sign up for the excursion - what motivation...seeing his cutie pie little face on a tour!

I am trying really hard not to have expectations of this trip, but I get so excited thinking about all the fun people, and all their family celebrations, meeting the kids, etc.

Linda, I forgot to tell you I almost spit out my coffee when Jackie told me you posted a reply to me being locked in the car and making her promise not to do that again! Very funny... I did eventually laugh - about the entire situation - just not that day!

The weather here cleared up a bit today, just clouds now and a breeze. I hope the girls are not hitting too much rain up north in Sedona.

SPOT DUDE - you used to live here - and moved back? Did I get that correct? To MA? One of my dear friends is from MASS - she misses it in many ways, but her life is here now, ex-hubby and son... even her sister moved out here, so that does make it easier. Every Spring I think (WHAT AM I DOING HERE?) And every fall I know...

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Right now I have a Impala (well actualy it is a caprice excop car) that I am Beating up on. But at 2.49 a gal. I am runing out of reasions to keep it. DW will never agree to another Squarback. She hate station wasgons, but I think I could talk her in to a Beetle convertable. Of course that could run about 13 sec. the 1/4 mile and with a VW still get 25 mpg. I have several friends in AZ on the look out but with retro the fad and Herbie Fully Loaded the price of beetles went through the roof and I am a pre 70 fan so that is even harder. I have a really good 2180cc at my disposial (set up for a type 3) but no car to put it in. I am not sure of the amount of snow you get there but you could look in to on of those temp. car covers.

Hey guys, just checking in. It is supposed to be beautiful here tomorrow, in the 80's. Then on Saturday it is supposed to have thunderstorms. We had hail the other night.

Has eeyone booked their flights?

We booked out flights a while back to take advantage of DH's frequent flyer miles. We fly out of Sacramento on the Thursday night before the cruise at about 11:30pm, layover in Chicago Friday morning, then arrive at MCO at about 10am. We'll return home on the Monday evening after the cruise. Even booking the flights over a month ago, it still took 40,000 flight miles per passenger to book our travel (instead of the normal 20,000 miles per passenger). I guess there is a positive side after all to his many trips to China, Singapore, Taiwan, etc. for work. :woohoo:

My youngest DS is very excited... he's never flown anywhere before. Middle son's first flight was at 15 days old, and flew frequently until the 3rd child came along. Oldest DS has even flown across country without mom or dad (for a school trip to WA DC).

Now we just have to book hotel... rental car... WDW side trips... the planning never stops :cheer2:

hey all!!

the new passporter for dcl is being officially released on sunday - however - it looks like if you preordered it through their website (i didnt this time) it may already be on its way!! i hope to pick one up early next week! i LOVE that book! :cool1:

have a great weekend!

Carolyn I don't know how many people they take in each group. They offer several (3?) different tours. I'm looking at the shorter one (3.5-4hours) because I do want to get in a little beach time afterwards. I have e-mailed them asking about group size and will share that info when I get it. Their web site is chacchobenruins.com if you want to take a look. I also asked how far in advance they take reservations. I know the start time is ONE HOUR AFTER THE SHIP DOCKS....so about 9AM.

Janice, I ordered my PassPorter from Amazon...so hopefully I'll have it by the end of next week! Yeah!

When I was at the airport picking up DSis, I notice a sign for JetBlue....I didn't even know they flew into Phoenix!!! I'm gonna check that out ::yes::

BTW, had a lovely day in Sedona.....dropped a couple of $$$$$$ on a piece of art (metal sculpture) for over the fireplace! I've never been satisfied with any PAINTING I've hung there....so I'm going for something completely different. A description? well, blobs of rusted steel about covers it......hehehe

I bought the offical Guide to DCL I do not remember the publisher, but I would not recomand to anyone. Especally for our cruise. It had NOTHING for it. It sugested to look at the web site. Well I pay 39.00 a month for that already I didn't need to spend 15.00 on that book. I am on my way to BN I am going to look and see if they have it there. The 2005 one was there three weeks ago.

Thanks for checking our the tour, Jackie. I have looked at their site, but hadn't gone the next step in actually asking them anything:). We would only do the shorter of the tours (kids, you know:)), too.

Do you have a picture of your blobs of rusted steel??? I'd love to see it...

We don't have airfare, yet, either, though I'm getting daily updates from Kayak. Cheapest we can fly is out of LAX and it's just...well....icky (nice mature term) to drive up there. I'm going to have to bite the bullet here soon, for my own sanity...:)

I'll ask DH where he put the paperwork and get back to you. We booked on-line. I have each person's ticket reference number, but nothing that has our specific flight info on it. I'll get back to you... :confused3

That was likely the Birnbaum one. I didn't find anything useful in that one for our previous cruise either! I too ordered the 2006 Passporter from Amazon (supposed to ship today). The last Passporter was a GREAT help. We used the map inside it, wrote the names of our DIS friends on their cabin numbers on the map and periodically went by their rooms to leave little notes on their doors! It was a fun way to tour the ship.

Totally agree! We do happen to have a layover there on our return flight. Luckily, we don't have to try to leave the airport by car! I got stuck there for 5 hours back in the early 80s - "Airport Bus of Bakersfield" broke down on the grapevine and we had to wait for a new bus... did I mention our flight arrived at LAX from Washington DC at about midnight? We had such a fun time sitting on the floor in baggage claim at that time of night. It was then that I vowed to do my best to never return to LAX. Oh the personal sacrifices we make for the sake of a fun DCL trip!

Jackie and Carolyn,

Hi. I haven't been around much, but I just wanted to let you know that we went on Dave and Ivan's tour to the Chacchoben Ruins last November (first DCL to Costa Maya after Wilma). Our van had our family of 4 and another family of 5 in it; we were with Ivan. The other van, who were with David, had about the same number of people. The tour was amazing, and the highlight of our trip. We booked as soon as we found out we were going to Costa Maya. Amazingly, everyone on the tour was a DISer ;) , and several people were shut out. You need to make your reservations way in advance. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Lauri
