Thanks for the fun chat last night. If I am going to be able to keep up I am going to have to really improve my typing skills. Hopefully I will remember how I got on and can join y'all again sometime.

David

Dave..I hope you can make it again to chat.

Suzadrew, I do not know what time zone you are in but I can appreciate the tiredness. Those west coasters can wear you out. LOL

Oh....just saw a thread on the DCL forum that reminded me that I wanted to remind all of you (confused yet):

Attention blood donors! Be sure and donate BEFORE the cruise, as you will be unable to for ONE YEAR after due to stopping in Costa Maya.

Oh, and bring your bug spray.

Thanks for the reminder Jackie! I asked when I went to donate a few weeks ago, and the verified that CDC requires 1 year deferral due to Costa Maya. I'm donating next week, so that will be my last donation for a year.

Hi again everyone! I hope we're not too late for the bracelets. I would like to order 3 of the smaller adult ones. I couldn't convince DH to wear one, thus the delay in ordering.

Lauri

Just making sure you mean the MEDIUM size (the ones for kids 6 and over and small women).

popcorn:: just taking you all in - feeling kinda sad that I missed out on a lively, chat. But I'll have to join next time for sure, I've missed the last few. So many things to do, so little time!

I am so happy to see new folk joining, just makes the DIS meet all the more exciting when we get to the terminal and our DIS meet!

I've been thinking about Victoria & David's since Jackie (ibouncetoo) and I spoke of it over the weekend, and now I'm really looking forward to that experience! I was hesitant due to timing, (late for me) traveling (I get so sleepy and out of it flying that far) packing (our luggage won't be delivered to our room early enough so we'll have to pack our "nice" outfits in our tote bags... but - I've decided its going to be worth it and so it is...

Who's this David guy? :rotfl2: Sorry, shouldn't mock my little sister.....especially since I probably never told her the restaurant was named for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. ;) The food most likely will be SPECTACULAR....hope it doesn't spoil us for the cruise.

Yes Jackie, three medium ones. If only the rest of my body was as skinny as my wrists :rotfl: .

I donate regularly, and don't recall a screening question about this. Why the one year wait?

V&A is a dining experience to savor. Do not look at your watch or try to rush through it.

Good morning everyone. Have a great day. Is it really that buggy in Costa Maya ibouncetoo? Why the blood note is it if you should leave the boat and eat or drink down there or because of the bugs? Maybe I should stay in my room :sad2: lol. Oh well I don't plan on giving up any blood in the next year. My husband needs all he can keep also.

Because we'll be in the jungle (the mighty jungle) and there's the thread/possiblity/whatever of malaria carrying mosquitos...at least the blood bank thinks so. Apparently some Mexican ports aren't an issue (like Cozumel), but Costa Maya is.

We did the Kohunlich ruins tour last year in Costa Maya, and I was very glad we had some OFF wipes. I still got 2 mosquito bites on my hand (must have missed those spots). DH didn't get any bites, but mosquitos don't like him as much as they like me. I am a mosquito magnet! There are several bug borne illnesses that are carried by mosquitos in Mexico including malaria and dengue fever; which is why you have to wait a year before donating blood.

No signs of illness here, and the ruins were magnificent. I would do it again if it wasn't such a long tour (6 hours). Going to the Chaccoben ruins this time.

Well hopefully those skeeter won't be alive in November. :teeth:

The Navigator is growing. There are only a few people left that we have not heard from. I am going to try and contact them to see if they are still traveling with us and if they are interested in having their name on the navigator.

We have a few folks that use to post here that are MIA. If anyone knows where they are please ask them to Pm me. I need ther pemission to put their names in the navigator.

I am looking for (just for starters):
CJsmom97
Cruiser4life
Disney 81
DIS Nurse
Favorite Auntie
Kaykels
ScDizneyawn
Smchan

Edited to add some more MIA Disers

Yonkers girl
calmom
Mymichala
Jordgubben
Susaninaz
Quackattack
Sfed
Momsrule27
Mom2dil

Thanks for all the help

Wow, has any other obsessed person noticed that there are over 40 cabins still available for our cruise? Last year we also sailed in November, and by this time, there were no cabins left. There are so many DISers and friends going; are there others on the ship too? :)

you know very well what was on my mind at the time.... I just went over again and checked the trip report - I wish I could cyber smack some people! Ok, breathe in breathe out... what is up with some folks? Remind me NOT to post any trip reports!:thumbsup2

I had not noticed. Looks like some people may be getting upgrades

Peggy do not let those people get to you. I read your response and I agree. They need to grow up and just agree to disagree. It kills me that people had the gaul to go on his trip report and start that. It would be like me coming into your home and critizing your cooking, cleaning, and decorating. Simply, they could post their own and better yet, not read his. He was not a spokeman for their group, only a fellow cruiser who shared his experience, both positive and negative. What I walked away from was that on DCL anything is possible.

It sure makes you leary about being a part of a "group." So for all those lurkers. I completley understand if you do not wish to participate. Let me say this, from my perspective. I am going on a family vacation. The fact that I have become familiar with folks on this thread has no bearing on my vacation. What I hope to get from my encounter with these fellow Disers, is that when I pass you in halls or sit near you in the theater, that I feel like I am not with complete strangers. I do not believe that anyone here wants people to forgo their family vacations and "hang out" with people on this thread. For me the meets are a way of putting a name with a face. We have helped each other plan, shared each others excitements (our common bond). I, for one, will not think any less of anyone who decides not to join the meet or come to lunch (heck my own family is not participating and I would not think to force them to. It is, afterall, their vacation as well). I thank you all now for even joining in and sharing thus far and I respect those who are more comfortable with lurking.

Okay, I am stepping down off my soap box and going to get some work done. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for making us lurkers feel welcome. I visit often, but hardly ever post. :rolleyes1
