November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Unfortunately, we will be canceling the Stateroom Tours (on the second sea day) for lack of stateroom volunteers. I've received too many stateroom cancellations to make it worthwhile. I wanted to let you know ASAP so you can adjust your plans for that day.

Instead, is anyone interested in having a DIS lunch on a the second sea day? It would be at 11:45 or so. We could have it at Lumiere's or Parrot Cay, whichever is open for sit-down lunch that day. If so, we would need to get a headcount in advance, and ask the dining staff to set aside a section for our group.

We have our Palo brunch on the 2nd day at sea at 10:30 so unfortunetly we will have to pass.

Hi Spoohs! Sorry my DD has been so bad about writing....we fight over the computer here too much these days!

But yes...we will try and plan for the Mickey pool drink station! Sounds great!

I fully understand things get quite crazy around here to. I am happy to hear you and your family are ok from the fires. I can't imagine how scarry that must be. :scared1:

I will try to have DD write one more email before the trip, but if not we will hopefully see you by the pool on the first day.:cool1:

I believe the boat drill is at 4:00, so a brief DIS meet at 3:00 should work, at least for some.

Embarkation day will seem rushed for many no matter what.

The DIS meet -- like each of the DIS activities -- is not mandatory. It's just an opportunity to stop by and meet (put a face to a name, let the kids meet, exchange cabin numbers or addresses, share cruise plans, etc.). Drop by if you can, but don't feel obligated.

Woody

Sorry about that, I think your right. I had checked a navigator and it marked it as 3:30, but I think that is the time they shut everything down to get ready. I do remember last year being about 4:00. So should we make it official....3:00 by the drink station at the Mickey pool, or if mother nature is not being nice that day I like the idea of the promanade lounge. See you all soon.

I hope they are talking about an actual refrigerator that they will put in your room, and not the "cool box" that is standard equipment.

Woody

Nope, the person I talked to said that the "fridge" in the room will suffice. Frankly, I was not impressed with the person I spoke with. I probably should have asked to speak with a supervisor. If I can't get Connor to try the meds with something that doesn't need to be refrigerated, I will call DCL again.

We have brunch then too. With my luck, it will also be the character breakfast morning. We have the later seating, too. I figure that DH and I just won't eat at the character breakfast and hope we can get my son out of there before it's time for Palo brunch!

And thanks everyone for your well wishes and prayers about the fires! We :scared1: are fine although fire was about a block away from us. I didn't realize how close the fire had come to us until we went for a drive on Monday night. WOW!!! I would've really been freaking out, had I realized how close the flames were to our neighborhood.

And then our dear friends evacuated their house when they saw flames at the end of their street in a nearby canyon. I think whats AMAZED me the most is our phenomenal fire fighters - they have done such a phenomenal job trying to save our homes and lives. And yet still there are parts of our county that look like they've been bombed. It is so VERY sad... especially since our particular fire was started by an arson.

Anyways....it makes me even more grateful that our family is safe and that we get to go on this wonderful Cruise. I printed out our packing list today, ordered walkie talkies and crossed a few more things off my list. :cheer2:

Does anyone have a Passporter guide? Was thinking now that I might want to get one. any thoughts?

So glad that you are all safe and are still coming on the cruise!

I do have a Passporter, and I love it. I'm not sure how much good it will do once on the cruise since I think it is most helpful for planning. It has great detailed information on the restaurants, ports and excursions, as well as everything else you could need for planning. I did buy the deluxe edition, which pockets to keep receipts and such, as well as a place to keep a trip report. I was planning to bring mine, but at this point I have so much stuff that I don't know if I want to add that to my luggage too. :)

We will be bring our passporter with us. I think DH and I have read it five times each from cover to cover. We have made notes in ours, so that is why we will bring it.

:thumbsup2

Thanks Robin, we are quite excited here in Mass!  The Patriots also won on Sunday! My DH is excited because he originally thought he would miss the football game on the cruise, but it is their "buy" week:yay:

:cheer2:
Kinda pleased with our sports teams these days!!

My DH is also VERY relieved that the big Patriots/Colts game is the week before the cruise and no game to miss on the cruise. Although I suspect that Diversions will play football...

I logged on once before and AMAZED how vibrant this board is - many, many pages since then!

My mom is taking the whole family on this cruise (6 adults and 7 kids - 8, 6,5,4,3,17 mos and 5 mos) as a 65th birthday cruise (Grammie mimi - you may see our door signs!). We will definitely be a travelling circus so I am sure you will see us if you are during the same dining rotation or near our cabins. We are on Deck 7 between the mid and forward elevators on the starboard side. Anyone else over there too?

My sister and I are so over the top excited about this vacation. It isn't normal!!!:mickeyjum

Anybody else completely obsessed?

I am sure we won't have time to participate in half of the activities that we will want to but if you see us - I am the one with the longish brown hair and the 2 blond kids that I will insist on dressing up every night!!:rolleyes1 Please say hi if you see us!

I have the paperback version, and I love it also. Lots of great info and tips. I think if we cruise again, I'll spring for the deluxe version - it looks like it has lots of neat extras.

I think we're still up for the thing in our room...... Unless no one is interested:sad1:

We also have Palo brunch on second sea day but would still be interested in seeing that suite and sharing some wine if anyone else is. I really don't have a preference in wine - I tend to drink sweet wines. Anyone is welcome to see our Cat 8 if they don't mind the mess. Just let me know and we will plan on setting up a time to run down and see it.

Linda

How did everyone book Palo brunch? I really wanted this but it wasn't available for me. I am hoping to book it right away once I board.

I'm omnivinous!! I'm omnivinous!! (that is so hard to type!)
:yay::yay::yay:

I'll be there with bells on... (if I remember to pack the bells) - but admit a penchant for the bubbles, m'self.

:woohoo:

p.s. is there a donation kitty to offset the wine transport and cost? I'd contribute! :)
