November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Note to self: Always check the boards before you call the airline back! I had Jet Blue move us to the 2:50 flight before I read all of your posts. I never even thought about staying over the night before. As for getting up early, I'd have no problem with that because I'm a morning person, but my DH has a real problem with it. He hates to get up early! Another issue is that DS is a morning person too, and he would never go back to sleep if I woke him at 4 - he hates to miss anything!

Thanks for all the advice, I may see about staying over the night before. If I can find a good price for it, I may be able to talk DH into it.

Just popping in to say hi. I've been really busy planning DS's Bar Mitzvah in 17 days. I will post more after that. I can't believe how fast it is coming.

Anyone with GTY's get their cabin assignments yet?

Lauri

Ok - It's time to figure out the secret handshake, password, etc....

So we all know who we think we are talking too.....

No more of this page 2 baloney!!!!!

What kind of music should I bring for the party? ( I know about the Sting & Genesis)

Let's get excited about this cruise - it's gonna be, to quote one funky old turtle, "Totally Awesome, Dude"

I like the idea of wearing Mardi Gras beads at the Port.

Agreed! Hey, we're No. 1!

That's a tough question. Are you serving red, white, or both?

Good quote! (I went on the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at DL last weekend.)
So yes, let's get excited about this cruise!

What time are you all planning on being to the port???

We are sleeping at the Hyatt the night before, and I want us to take one of the first buses to PC:yay:

Totaly awesome Dude!!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1:

Newby to the meeting forum but my family is on the 11/10 cruise...DH 34, DW 32, DS 4 & DD 3. I am not sure about the gift exchange deal but we would certainly love to be a part of the get together the 1st day.

Can someone bring me completely up to speed on everything? Who has the updated attendence list...I think for safety reasons I would rather PM our info than post on the public forum. Who has the "master" list...who should I PM?

Forgot to ask this as well...does anyone know if the Chrsitmas decorations will be up? Seems as though they might be up as I saw a post earlier that a cruiser on last years 11/17 cruise said they were. Just wondering.

We cruised the same week last year. The tree was up in the atrium upon arrival, and each night when we went to bed, we'd wake to find new decorations. The ship was completely decorated when they forced us to get off. The gingergread house was partially finished, as they ran out of gingerbread mix and needed to pick up more on the return to Port Canaveral. But it still smelled wonderful.

And Welcome cnice515.

Welcome cnice515!

We're planning on checking in as soon as possible in the morning. I want to get the maximum amount of time I can on the ship LOL We're staying at the Country Inn & Suites by the port.

I told DS's teacher that he will be missing 4 days of school for the cruise....she was not happy! Our school is really strict with vacations being illegal absences but I've never had a problem with his teachers before. They've always looked the other way, "suggested" some extra work (since they can't give out any work prior to vacations without getting in trouble themselves) and wished us a great trip. Anyway, this year's teacher made it a point to remind me of the "illegal" part of it. I told her I understood but he was still going. He's the type of kid that rarely gets sick and/or misses school except for when we go away so I'm not too worried about him missing too much school. (Knock on wood!! I probably just jinxed him for this year)) Meanwhile, he has a girl in his class that leaves school early once a week for a dance class with no problems! Ugh...vent over!!!

Cheryl, do we know about how many people are participating in the DIS fairy game yet? I'd like to start picking up some stuff. :)

Is there such a thing as too many door magnets? Everytime I see something cute I want to add it to our doors. I may have gone a little overboard!:)

One that is Disney Family friendly and not the "BAD GIRL PIRATE". Let me know if you see anything. Size L/XL.

Okay I found and ordered this:

Looks tame enough...no?

Hey everyone :) I haven't checked back in awhile. Things have been hectic here. Thankfully, DH is somewhat convinced that he'll have fun on DCL (he's still nervous about getting sick, I don't understand him sometimes). We got a set of luggage from Dmom as extremely early birthday presents so i'm beyond excited now! I'm just really hoping that we can have a great time with little cash.

I can't wait to head back down to FL :) It'll be great to get the escape!

Happy Planning everyone :)

What time are you all planning on being to the port???

Because of work & other related issues, we will be arriving at Orlando at 11:00 AM and catching the next bus to the Port - I'm guessing if we get on board by 2:00PM we'll be doing well.

Slightly risky, but we don't have any options......

We are on the 6:30 flight out of Chicago and dont get to MCO until 10:00 AM. So we are arriving late too! If only I had been a member of these boards before I booked my flight.........I would have done it differently!

We live outside of Tampa. We will be driving to the port that morning. Just trying to figure out what time to get there. I want to be early. What time can we start boarding?
