November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

My goodness, took yesterday off from the computer to have Connor's birthday party and I missed like six pages!

Whoever asked if you are thinking "this time next week I'll be doing "x" on the Magic", I have been doing that too!! Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? I keep waking up and thinking, I have to pack this or that and I have to make sure DH does this before we leave, and then I end up getting up to do it since I can't sleep anyway!!

Cheryl, I think you are the person who suggested (pages and pages ago it seems) that I try to give Connor his medicine in vanilla pudding that doesn't need to be refridgerated (sp?). We tried it yesterday and it worked - he loved it. So now I don't have to worry about whether the fridge keeps things cool enough or packing an ice pack, etc. So great tip, THANK YOU! :thumbsup2

Manon, unfortunately my high school french is long gone, about all I can recall is how to say hello and "where is the library"! :lmao:

In other news, I did manage to pack both Connor and myself this weekend. All that's left are things like medication and toiletries/makeup.

Next Monday at this time we'll be waking up on the Magic! :cheer2:

Michele

Oh yes Michele, having trouble sleeping for about 4-5 days now....I wake up at 4 in the morning, asking myself are we friday 9th???:rotfl:

Almost packed, just need to put dh underware in the suitcase!!!:cool1: :cool1:

Lady Marmalade "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir?" lol so i don't think with those things it would be the most disney appropriate conversation :p

:lmao: I always wondered what the heck they were saying in that song!

Sorry the only French I remember from school isn't very nice, although I tend to curse more in German. Since the kids came I really had to clean up my potty mouth so I started cursing in other languages under my breath. :lmao: (I'm a NY'er who worked in a lock up facility for a few years....yep potty mouth for sure :rolleyes1 )

My parents just left this morning for Orlando! They have a condo down there that they are staying at before the cruise and meeting us at the port. Now I feel like I really have to get my butt in gear

Our DD is 12 going on 18! We are still debating if she will be in the Stack or not...

Aidanht, she really wants to be able to hang out with your DD there, but I think we will have to see how things go!

Karen, wife of been2marceline.

Karen,

I know Hannah is very excited about being old enough for the Stack this year, and she's really hoping that your DD will be able to hang out there with her. Frankly, I suspect she might be a bit intimidated if there are a lot of older teens there, but I suspect the younger teens will stick together. It's hard for me to think of her as belonging in a group with 17-18 yr olds, but she'll be in high school next year, so I'd better get used to it!

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Connor, Cheryl! He was so excited when I got him up this morning- he made me measure him to see if was taller now that he is five. :) Wasn't sure how to explain to him that height and age aren't related. :rotfl: We can't wait to meet you too!

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Connor, Aidanht, and you're right, it is a great age!

Manon, you know none of us are getting any more work done this week. :rolleyes1 We just have to accept that fact. :)

By the way, DH actually talked about going on another cruise yesterday! He said if Disney goes back to the Mediterranean he would love to go. I told him that we could rebook onboard for 2008 at a discount and then just change the date (or cancel) when the 09 cruises are released. He didn't say no, so I'm taking that as a positive sign. Maybe I'll be able to convince him to rebook once we're onboard! :thumbsup2

Good luck convincing him!!!! Just don't put it off until the last minute like we did last time. :scared1:

You might find he doesn't need much convincing. I think of the five of us, DH loves DCL the most. Never would've taken him for a cruise person--he is what I will kindly refer to as "highly fiscally conservative" and thinks ordering room service in a hotel is the height of excess--but he loves the fact that we are all able to relax so completely and really enjoy family time, couple time, and even some alone time. Nothing beats it!

O.k., since we've now confessed that we are not getting any work done . . .

What is everyone doing in St. Thomas? I think we're going to take a cab to a beach, but we can't decide which one. Anyone have any advice?

I think that is what we are doind as well so any advice would be helpful here as well.

Since I have young kiddies, we decided to do the Skyride to Paradise Point while in St. Thomas. I figured we can get our beach time in at Castaway Cay!

In St. Maarten, we decided on the Butterfly Farm & Bus Tour, plus some shopping, I'm sure!

There weren't too many excursions that were under 3 or stroller friendly, so these seemed like good options.

:cheer2: Me (34) :woohoo: DH (34)
princess: DD (7) pirate: DS (3) DS (5 months)

On St Maartin we booked a private tour with Beau at No Rush Tours. We plan to see the planes coming in over the beach and beach time, lunch, Butterfly Farm and Rum tasting for DH and me!

In St. John plan to take a taxi to Coral World and then go to Coki Beach which is accross the street.

And don't forget Ocean Quest--Max loved it last year!

Both kids loved Ocean Quest last year. DD is glad she's finally old enough to go on her own. She just missed being 10 last year.

On our cruise thread, there are people with Dchildren the same age as mine, just not the same sex. I guess there will be a few other on the ship that they will have a chance to meet:rotfl: .

Our kids may actually recognize each other from last year, as they were all in the lab together.

We did not plan anything for St. Thomas but I think we will do Coki Beach and maybe Coral World on our own. If not then the Pool is where we will be. I would like to shop a little on my own.

We're doing the Water Island Bike Adventure. This is our first cruise doing excursions through Disney; we always booked on our own in the past. DH wanted to do an active excursion so this is it. I tried to get info on the boards about this excursion, but no one admitted to having done it before. Both Fodor's and Frommer's highly rate this excursion in there guidebooks.

On St. Martin, we're doing the Under Two Flags Tour. I wanted to see both parts of the island, and it's short enough and inexpensive enough that if we wanted to back to do something later in the day, we can.
