We are on the 6:35pm flight. I have to have kiddos stay at school at least 1/2 day since we are taking them out for an extra week. Plus it gives me time to finish getting dogs to kennel, cats settled in house, key to neighbor (making mental note of all this, like I won't forget by tomorrow :rotfl: ) and anything else that is last minute without the inevitable " mom, when we leaving" a gazillion times.
Warm up the plane for us and let Pop Century know we're coming...:woohoo:

DW, DD, & I were buying FE "stuff" online yesterday. Since they were out of some things we ordered, we'll continue to look for "pirate booty".pirate:

Just doing a little checking what can be done now and what has to wait until
later. Finished buying the fe gifts and packing the fe gifts. Well that is one thing done, must move on to do some packing. Going to travel down to Florida by car next Saturday. for a two week stay, and planning on taking some of the extra weigh down in the car, this way I won't have to worry about getting everything in the suitcases when we fly down for the cruise. Also thought of mailing a box to the cabin, any one else every done that.
Going to work on the door signs next, just something simple.

Learned my lesson along time ago on another cruise line when my luggage was soooo late getting to my room....so now I pack my dinner clothes for the first night in my carry on day bag. Compulsive overplanning insures smooth sailing.

We're getting more excited and ready each day!!!

We went and bought DD a swim diaper today and took her swimming for the very first time. I figured we needed to try out the sunscreen and see how she liked the water before cruising. She loved it! I know she'll just be in the splash area and spend a little time on the beach (hopefully the ocean is warm for us) but she'll also swim a bit in WDW before the cruise.

I need a countdown people!!!::hourglass :dance3:
I can't believe how fast it is coming!!:woohoo: :cheer2:
Bought a gown today for formal night and cocktail length for semi-formal.
Starting searching for FE gifts but having a little trouble finding just the right thing. I'll just keep shopping!!

WOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO:cool1:

I have 1 formal dress for each of them.

For all the newbies on this cruise:

My kiddos DON'T know they will be going on a cruise. :rolleyes1 Dh wanted to take me to Hawaii for our 15th anniversary. I nixed that idea as I wasn't willing to be that far away from the kiddos post 9/11. He took me to the Football Hall of Fame for our 15th anniversary instead. BEFORE you :scared1: ... I asked to go there. :woohoo: I've been a Skins fan since I was a tweener ... before that was a word. I've always wanted to go there. It was a wonderful trip.

DH asked me last year if I was willing to take a cruise for our anniversary. I declined again as I wasn't willing to be away from the kiddos & out of the country in an emergency. He then asked if I was willling to go if the kiddos could go with us on a DCL? :yay:  Then I said yes!! :dance3:

We have had 2 WDW trips since he booked this cruise last year. I couldn't begin to get really excited about this cruise until school was out this year. Now I am :cool1: :woohoo: about it.

I have prepared a "Where are you going on vacation?" search & find puzzle which the kiddos will be given when they reach our home airport. Each parent will work with one kiddo to find all the words ~ all of which pertain to the cruise. The leftover letters will answer where they are going.

Getting formal wear for the girls has been easy. They both love to dress up for church. So I am covered in that area and I didn't have to lie. :rolleyes1 We have made regular trips to the Outlet Mall for nice clothes for me. My wardrobe has consisted of shorts, Disney T's and tennis shoes. I have told the kiddos that I need a dressy dress too. I think they will be excited when we shop for that next weekend.

This has been so much fun keeping the secret from them. I will begin to pack in earnest in the beginning of Oct. I can't pack too much of their shorts/capri pants earlier as they were just purchased and put into their dressers for school clothes. I am slow to do laundry :rotfl2: so that will cover me as I take the matching outfits I purchased for them and put them into the suitcases.

Darn! DH just cleaned his office so now I have to find a new place to put the pile of things that need to be packed.

WuvTigger - you are absolutely going to love this cruise.

I've been going to WDW since it opened in 1971 so I've always been hooked on Disney vacations. We took our first DCL cruise last year and had a "Wonder"ful time. I was blown away - the Disney family atmosphere at sea. Beautiful, clean, fabulous ship; satisfying dining options; full-out Disney stage show productions; and Castaway Cay is a perfectly designed island getaway for a day at the beach - it was just a little slice of heaven.

I hope you and your family have a fabulous time discovering all the "Magic" of your DCL cruise vacation.

Wuv tigger,
I don't know how you do it! I can't help but talk to the kids everyday about the cruise. My youngest and I are always watching the DCL on the travel channel. I've seen on one of the magnet threads that there is a sign that says "Surprise, we're going on a Disney Cruise" with some cute pictures.

They hear us talk but they really haven't figured it out.

Hi everyone!! I'm still on vacation in Fla- flying out of Pensacola 1 day early because of Gustav- we changed our flights because of Gustav, and now he's coming in when we fly out. Anyway...

Because I'm still having computer issues (looks like I must need a new mother board after all:headache: ) I can't log into the Yahoo group (can't remember the password, etc...), but I did want to give my 2cents worth, if that's ok-

FE's are for adults as well as kids- some of the people participating are in adult only cabins, so PLEASE don't forget them!!:) We don't have a theme, we just have a fun and creative multi-faceted exchange, so what ever you'd like to give out will be just fine and wonderful with us all. As far as $$ goes- I don't know if there usually is a price limit, I think people should give what they are comfortable giving, it's just something to put a smile on the faces of your new friends, right? I love the idea of making sure kids get their own, but if you put it all in one bag to drop off, that's fine- just please remember if a cabin has 2 girls and you're giving out pirate hairbows, you'll need to put 2 in the bag to keep it even for all. OK? :hippie: When I get home, I'll be able to do a cabin list so you can see who is in each cabin for the exchange.

I'm no expert on any of this, so if someone has a better idea, PLEASE correct my mistakes or omissions- Thanks!

And wish me luck on the plane tomorrow-:scared1:

Safe travels, Ellen! We'll be thinking of you.

Great tips for FE's! Aren't some adults just big kids?

Only two months until we set sail!!!!!!:cool1:

You're right...those are great tips. Assuming we all are now on the same page, I'll start my initial shopping until we get the final stateroom list from Ellen.

<---- claiming is still a ToysRUs kid....

Be safe Ellen and anyone else traveling right now. My BFF left NJ to go to FL. last week in time for the first storm and left stating " I HAVE HAD ENOUGH RAIN"... :wizard: Lots of good wishes for all those in harms way.

Here's looking for sunny skies :cool1: and cool breezes...:beach:

Thanks everyone! And Yes, Plutospup, some adults ARE just big kids- I think on DCL, ALL adults are probably big kids, right?

Our flight out of Pensacola today is the ONLY Airtran flight not cancelled so far- please say a prayer, and cross your fingers and toes for us!!
