November 1, 2008 "Election Day Castaways!"

For those of you taking a limo or town car to the port-

Who are you using, and what time are you leaving (from WDW)?

Thanks,
E

Ellen,
Godspeed on your trip home. The weather in Jersey is just perfect!! Don't bring any of the hurricane home with you!!
As for the FE's....I can't wait to see what little surprises my fellow diser's have for us. I may just elbow my kids out of the way to get to the FE first each day!!

Hi Ellen,

We're using florida Tours for transportation, not sure on what time we should plan on Arriving to the port though. Any Suggestions?

Florida Tours for us also out of Pop Century at 10am....figure one quick trip to pick up some cases of soda/water and on our way.

Hey guys getting closer and closer!! Lets hope there is still some Western Carribean left after all these hurricanes!:sad2:

I can't even find my last post, so I'm not sure where to jump in here! I guess I'm too late for the FE exchange. I have been on 4 other Disney Cruises but never did one! GASP! Glad you all have great plans on that though!

About the bracelets, is it something I could make? Would love to be identified. I have a couple of Mickey Mouse paint chips in the lime green, so I need to make our tags, but other than that, I'm at a loss on what to do to prepare!

SOOOOO excited for this trip. Been putting together a gift "bag" for the girls. I wanted to do a gift basket, but they are so darn expensive! I've been getting little $1 or $2 items from Target and all. Also a nice straw cup that closes shut, and has a snack top for, well, snacks! Can't wait till they see them! Now how to get into my suitcase and there without them seeing them! :goodvibes

Anyway, thanks for adding me to the list on the first page. I feel honored. Our crew includes my DH, myself and my girls, Lindsey and Sydney. They are anxiously waiting for their trip!!

See you real soon!!pirate:

Great idea! They'll love the surprises. DW always makes up a "travel bag" (crayons, markers, small games) that DD takes on the plane. It works out well waiting for flights, connections, and delays.

Just ordered by absentee ballot from my Board of Elections. Check that off my to do list.

I think I am due for a round of last minute cruise shopping for something new to wear. Combining summer clearance sales with cruise shopping - what fun.

Lime green mickey paint chips - we used them for luggage markers on our bags and I also laminated one for my KTW card lanyard / or camera bag.

One of the best tips I've seen is the FIRST picture on your memory card in your camera should be your name, address, phone number and travel plans. (print it up on a card and take a picture of it). That way if you have the misfortune of losing your camera and have the great fortune of someone honest finding it - they can return it to you.

In 9 weeks from now we'll all be enjoying our first Sea Day. I can't wait. DH was happy to hear that Hurricane Gustav didn't trash Grand Cayman. We were supposed to go there in 2004 but one of the hurricanes (either Charlie, Francis, or Jeanne) hit it so hard that it was closed to cruise ships for several weeks. Let's hope for some pixie dust to keep the Caribbean safe from more hurricanes this year. :wizard:

Here's a wristband update since the last one is 10 pages back on this thread. If you want to be added to the list, please let me know by Sept 15th so I can order them and send them to you by mid-October. I'll request payment in a couple weeks once I have the final list.

They will be lime green silicone wristbands and say "Election Day Castaways 2008". Cost will be right around $3 each (covers wristband, paypal fee, and postage). Sizes are S(6in), M(7in) and L(8in).

I was off work today (who hoo!!)and got to do some cruise shopping. Got a bunch of deals at Kohls, including a skirt and top for semi-casual night, and some cute tops, all pretty cheap. Plus a few things for the girls....

ALso got some different sandels for the cruise, black, offwhite and another black pair. BOGO at Payless!!! :cool1:

Thanks for adding me to the bracelet list!! Now I just need to go get a few more Mickey paint chips for all the bags. Can never be too careful about labelling your bags!:rotfl:

BTW, we are from Maryland, but I am an original Jersey girl (grew up in Toms River!) Totally miss the shore! Do I get counted as a Jersey person for the trip then??? :rotfl2:

Hi Jenny2,
Just was wondering how you are making out with your new cricuit machine,
I saw a demo awhile back at the craft store, but this is when they brought
out the first machine. Looks like we have seven scrapbookers aboard, love
your idea of something for the scrapbook pages. I am going to make a
small page emblishment for each. Getting excited, started packing, looking
forward to meeting everyone. Looks like we will have a meet on Sat.

Kids are back to school, I am back to work. :cheer2: Let the countdown begin. At least now I have something to look forward to other than snow days !!! (I work at High School).
Here's to hoping hurricane season ends quietly for this week our vacation areas are destined to get hammered  .

No one's hair could have been higher or stiffer then mine in the 80's!! Us jersey girls also used to have to lay down on the bed to zipper up our jeans! No matter where I travel to in the country, when I get into a conversation with someone they always say....you're from Jersey aren't you? Don't these people understand they are the one's with the accents!! Jersey girl and proud of it!
:thumbsup2

I had a pink mohawk my Senior Yr....didn't use hairspray, used Spray Starch...:rotfl: What can I say ? Before that was the lovely front flip thing that from the front was high and stiff, from the side looked like a wall. Back and sides were always straight, looked like a freakin rooster !!! :lmao::scared1:

Ok, you've got me beat with the mohawk....mine was permed and fluffed as high as i could get it....not to mention the fabulous electric blue eyeliner I wore faithfully to the roller rink. :rotfl2: Boy I miss those good ole days!!

Thanks for the memories- going to a private school Mohawks and hair color was out; only had the puffy hair styles. Kids around here especially the boys have the mohawks and some girls have the colored hair. Are the 80's back? this summer I saw one woman with a front flip so high it was like lookin at a wall from the back:rotfl2:
has anyone finished their documents yet? how long does it take?
DD back in school and back to "normal" bed time, so now I can do them.

Hi Everyone!!!! I know I'm joining in at the 11th hour..but I have an excuse..I sware..I was hanging out on the October 19th 4 night cruise...until I changed my reservation...TODAY!!
So I guess I should introduce myself..I'm Lisa, a 32 (egads) year old, mother of 2 girls, Ireland is 7, and Alexis is 5. I'm a nurse who needs a little vay-cay...did I also mention...I'm a TOTAL Jersey girl. I had the big hair, aqua net style...never owned a camaro, but have been in quite a few :rolleyes1, had a boyfriend named vinney who lived in ginney tee's with his gold chain with the Italian horn on it...LOL, nope not kidding.
Anyway, can someone fill me in on all that I missed? Pretty please...It will take me forever to catch up. I even have to make signs for the door...mine all say Wonder....eeek...and did I mention the custom outfits for the girls...I made 16 just for the 4 night, now I have to surely make more.
Also where can I find an intinerary....I have no idea what even goes on, on the 7 night...yup. I know, I'm a loser...and what ever will I do with the custom shoes I made the girls that say Disney Wonder....egad Charlie Brown!!
:rotfl: Anywho, here's us....well the girls anyway....
