November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

Cheryl, do you think all the Christmas lights/decorations will be up for our trip? We're going at the same time as you. I figured some decorations might be out but wasn't sure. When we were in France many years ago, we stayed at the Davy Crockett Ranch at Disneyland Paris. We went to bed one night with no decorations and woke the next day to full Christmas!!! It was so magical.

From what I've read here on the boards things will start slowly going up right after Halloween. I was really hoping to catch the Osborne lights but read that they wont be starting till Nov 28 same as the Mickeys Jammin jungle parade at AK. I hope they start doing all the Christmas stuff early since I planned this trip around the events last year. My job blocks out Late Nov-Mid Jan for vacations so this is the only time I could go and now to find out they are doing everything later in Nov I was bummed to say the least.

lol so in short (from what I gather) MK will be decorated since they will be having MVMCP going on. The resort decorations will be going up slowly and be fully up by Thanksgiving. As for the Osborne lights they are up and *may* have previews the week before they go live to test them but this will be unannounced so its a hit or miss thing. I havent heard anything about the tree lighting or the Santa's at Epcot.

Hope this helps you out some! I'm just crossing my fingers that everything will be up but only time will tell!

Got my package and luggage tags today. WooHoo! Makes it seems that much more real. So, I started my packing list.

Then they will make it on Kali for sure the height there is only 38. I was surprised to find out my son could have been going on it already. He went for the first time in June and loved it!

ok so OUCH!!!! I was supposed to get my wisdom teeth out about 6 months ago and because i'm a chicken and HATE and i mean HATE the dentist I never made an appointment with my oral surgeon. Well I woke up yesterady morning with the most pain in my mouth I have ever experienced... i couldn't even function! I went to work and pretty much did nothing. SO i made an emergency dentist appointment yesterday and i am sooooo not happy. Apparently one of my wisdom teeth is out and pushed so much on the tooth next to it that it cut off blood and O2 to the gums and caused a tooth infection... awesome... so he gave me an antibiotic and some really strong pain killers. (which made me spend a good hour in the bathroom) He said once the infection was gone he could take them out. SoI have an appointment to have them removed the day after thanksgiving.... I'm so scared its not even funny. because i have a blood disorder where i don't clot like normal people they have to use all these special precautions that i've never heard of and they are going to give me IV anesthesia and completely knock me out.... i've never had surgery and have never been under for anything... yea i know big baby!
I'm also sad because everyday i check my mailbox and NO documents yet! Not the way i want to spend my sixteen days before vacation!

I totally feel for you. I have a huge phobia of dentists. Doesn't help that I have had a couple that take my fears personally. I haven't been in over three years for a cleaning. It's driving me nuts, but I just can't make myself go. I am trying very hard to work up the courage. Ask them to give you something to take before your appointment. I had to have an IV anesthesia also to have mine taken out. They tried giving me valium, which of course didn't work on me. I have a very high nervous system which kicks into overdrive in situations like that. Think of a happy place and you might even try your favorite music with ears phones while they are preping you. OMG!!! I feel your pain!! (although I don't have a blood disorder, I share your fear of the dentist!!)

Quick story about my experience:

I tend to panic when I'm in "the chair", so my dentist increased the usual amount of Valium he would normally prescribe for tooth extraction. Instead of just 10mg an hour before, he gave me 20mg. The big day, I took my 20mg just 1 hour before....and I was feeling good! Then I get to the dentist and sit in that chair. They started giving me the numbing shots, and I had a panic attack. They didn't believe that I had taken both pills just an hour earlier, so they gave me one more. Even on 30mg of Valium, I had tears streaming down my face the entire time.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out in 2 different visits - so I would have a side to eat on while the other was healing. So, before my next visit, he prescribed 10mg the night before and 30mg an hour before. It was better, but I still had tears streaming down my face the entire time.

But I'm so glad it's over with...I don't regret doing it, but it wasn't fun to go through. Good luck to you!! Not a good way to spend Thanksgiving weekend - you won't be able to much on leftovers all weekend!!

I totally understand; I was in a similar situation many years ago. It's awful to go through that, but once it's over you'll be so happy! And you still have your vacation...don't let it ruin that for you.

Katie, I am so sorry for you. That all sounds terrible. I got my wisdom teeth out 13 years ago, and because of how that went, I am now terrified of the dentist. (It was a really bad dentist) So I understand somewhat how it feels to hate the dentist. At least your mouth shouldn't be in any pain once the infection is gone, and you will still enjoy your vacation. Did the pain meds make you sick to your stomach? If they didn't... maybe you can take some of the painkillers with you to Disney just in case it starts hurting again.

I also hope your documents come really soon. When did the person you are renting from send them?
