November 28th thru Dec8th !! 11 fabulous days home at the world and Pop to celebrate the holidays for the anula three generations chirstmas trip!! AND I think I'm finall under 100 days!!!!!

Been a little anti-Disney here the last couple days, as I have been dealing with Bats in my apartment! But I think we've solved the issues, so we can resume our under-100 days celebration.....

We are going to be at GF 11/9-11/15! My boys are so excited. We went last January for the first time ever and stayed at POP but the boys and I got REALLY sick and ended up in the hospital for all but a day and a half of our trip. Not to be kept down, I am calling this our first official trip and hoping the Disney Magic wipes away any bad memories.

Anyone else staying there while we are?

OMG! I have been so preoccupied with the plumbing issues at my house and work stuff that I missed celebrating my 100 day mark..it's now 86 days!

Oh my! We have bats flying around our house occasionally but they are outside! I would freak if they were in my house!

I think bats are cool but I don't think I'd want them in my attic either. They would clash with the cat

i've been hearing about alot of people in the north east dealing with bats! I'm glad you've figured it out N10CJT! its one thing to see them outside its another when they're in the house.

but let me recap! Going on the land/sea package. We are staying at POR!! so excited!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't it getting so exciting? I remember when we first booked, I was consumed with Disney to the point of driving my family crazy. After the ADRs were made, the excitement kind of settled. Now that it is getting so close, (we are at 69 days) I feel the fever building once again!

I had to share this because at times these boards are the only people who understand my excitement.

My hubby is very calm about the whole Disney thing. He thinks it helps keep the boys calm too since we still have a little wait.

Today something came on the TV that said that election day was only 75 days away and I looked up and asked if DH knew what that meant. He said no and I said that it meant that we only had 76 days until Disney! He just rolled his eyes and laughed.

I am as bad as the kids... but I don't care. It keeps me young.

I can't believe the summer is almost over!!! but when summer is almost over it means.... My Birthday!!! Its my birthday!! I need to change my Sig! And Look at my ticker!! only 73 more days!!! Holy Moley!!!

AND on top of all that we went and did the home inspection yesterday and Nothing crazy came out of it!!! Just alittle mid-90's but nothing a coat of paint and some updating can't fix!! They have hot pink counter tops in the kitchen!!! Yea thats being ripped out on day 1! I'm just waiting to hear from the lawyer that everything is a go and i can get excited!


Can anyone tell I am in a wicked good mood??? (yes i'm from MA we say wicked)

OMG Hot pink counter tops What are these peolpe thinking? The house we just bought has red carpet and black amd white paneling and brick paneling with a red marble bathroom counter right out of the 60's. All of it is coming down on settlement day.

Yeah, neither me nor my girlfriend handled it too well. We sort of freaked out....

Not attic.... living room! I'm a night owl and was working around 2.30 a couple nights back, and a bat flew through. I shushed it into the hallway, then 20 minutes another one (or, what we think now, the same bat, squeezed under the door) flew past me again. I had had enough. I drove it out of the apartment, then went to my girlfriend's to sleep....
Funny about the cat, though. The next night after my girlfriend and I had dinner, a bat swept into the living room. Jen FREAKED, and I ushered her outside. The cat, though, was quite interested, and chased it. He cornered it in the dining room window, and I swooped in and took him away. When I came back in the bat was gone.
But today, the first thing the cat did was stalk the underside of the stove. I called in the landlord, we picked up the stove and nothing was under it or in it. But the cat was certain it was there. So what we think happened is that the bat slipped in through a gap in the window (which we fixed the next day), I chased it, it came back under the door, I chased it, then left for my girlfriend's, it came back again and couldn't find the way out, decided to sleep under or around the stove (thus leaving its scent there), then woke up the next night around dusk, flew around, was chased by our cat, and squeezed out through a gap between the window and the screen in my dining room window (since fixed). Yikes!
We've been joking about our bat hunter, our bat cat. My girlfriend's mother called the "bat phone" today for an update. The cat was totally unphased. 5 minutes after the excitement, he went on the bed and slept for a few hours.
He was NOT happy when he got a Rabies booster today....

Yeah, it's bat season.... I think this is the week when the young bats come of age and learn to fly..... they're not experienced and are basically left to their own (like some kids in Disney World? ), so they're apt to stumble into places older bats won't. My apartment is gorgeous, but it's a 19th C. brownstone (not exactly airtight) across from the park with a giant (but beautiful) tree right outside. The clicking of the bats is audible in my house (quite disconcerting after an encounter), and outside it is inescapable. The weather has been cool, and my apartment has been very cool, with a wind blowing in from my window fans, and we think the bat in question mistook it for a cave.
Other than exhaustion (I've got the bat jitters, and have had trouble sleeping), though, I'm okay. I went to the doctor yesterday and was checked out just in case (the bat did not show symptoms of rabies, nor did they ever come close to me.... in fact, we're confident that the bat was okay because it was terrified of the cat and, logically, wanted no part of him, and seemed startled by me and my girlfriend when we started and sort of freaked out and tried desperately to escape (as we, well, tried desperately to escape )). Hopefully, that's the end of it.....
I, however, am sleeping with my girlfriend until I'm thoroughly convinced......

LOL, Our cats are outside cats but they always have birds, even the 4 month old kittens. I would hate to see a bat in on of their mouths. Bleck! Then I would have to tease the kids about the cats having bat breath instead of bird breath...LOL

Thanks antree!! I've been watching alot of HGTV lately so i'm going to give this home an over haul! what made it worse was that it is a divorce situation and apparently the only person living in the home for 5 yrs is the ex husband! No cleaning has been done since! It needs a womens touch... BIG TIME!!! I can't wait to get in there and make it mine!

Hi everyone. I haven't even had much time to check the boards with school starting! We are going to the beach for Labor Day and my 5year old asked me tonight if it was finally going to be time for Disney after the beach. I told hime "almost" . It seems like forever til November.
