November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

I'll be there at the end of November through 1/2 of the second week of December.

I booked my return flight on SW yesterday, but the outbound flight from MHT is $220 + tax and it's a bit too high for me, so I'm waiting a little bit. I looked at flying out of PVD, but same prices as MHT. I also looked at flying out a day later. Same thing. I can get a lower fare ($154) on Jet Blue, with a connection in JFK, but am a little hesitant with a connection at the end of November (weather).

All of my ADR's are booked. My 2 Candlelight Processional dinner packages are booked (one speaker is TBD and the other is Brian Stokes Mitchell). Started filling out my PassPorter with all my ADR's, park-parade-fireworks times, etc. Got all my HDMH's.

We will be at POFQ from Nov 8 to Nov 15! Celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary and DS's 8th birthday!

I booked DFW-MCO with Airtran for $258/ea RT. I keep feeling that I could get a better fare, but I am tired of stressing out and worring about waiting too long. I am thrilled with the times and that they are direct flights  My obsession will now move from checking fares (although I will probably still do this :)) to checking to see if Airtran changes our flights.

We are leaving out of DFW and we got our fares for $182 RT per person. We booked about a month ago. I was hoping to get a bit more cheaper rate from AA, but after much stressing and worrying I decided to just purchase the Airtran.

We will be at WDW 11/28-12/06!! We are excited to see all the decorations!

WOW, I wasn't expecting the airfare to be so much. Including tax, it will be $357 per person (x8 - well, I will be paying for 4). I haven't booked yet, but I need to soon, because I definately want a non-stop flight. Should I wait? I don't want to risk the flights selling out. Also, is it better to book round trip or separate?

WOW! What a great price! I am excited about seeing all the decorations also. I have been watching airfare for about 2 months and they are going no where but up for the dates that we need them. The day after Thanksgiving was the one I was worried about. Originally we were going to fly home the Sat after T'giving, but the fare was around $200 more per ticket ($800 more for me).

Going up is right!! AA is incredibly high and with that luggage charge their airfares are pretty outrageous.
Originally we were going to fly out on Thanksgiving, but DH would not think of missing his Cowboys on Thanksgiving at home! :rotfl: When I saw the prices for Airtran were going up (slightly) I decided to grab at the price we found it for!

firechick,
Look on Wednesday for your flight. I have done this for a couple of years now and that is the day I have found the best airfares. Occasionally after Midnight on Tuesday or Wednesday you can find a good fare as well. You may find fares coming down after summer, so if you feel like it you could even wait to see what prices will be after Labor Day weekend.
Good Luck!!

I purchased our airfare on Thursday and paid $15 more per ticket because I didn't purchase in the morning (darn work meetings)! I just checked and the flights have gone up to $1,220 for 4.

OK I lost this thread.

We are staying a POFQ 11/22 -11/28. I also got Le Cellier for TG dinner and all of the ADRs I wanted at all new places. I'm so excited. We've never stayed onsite before this trip.

I've started a disney stash. Bought matchie matchie tees from Disneyshopping on sale. Even got myself a lime green one LOL also some DT stuff for our son.

I was watching airfares but too high. We'll be driving. I did just look at the train and that is about equal to driving but nearest train station is 2 hours. Not sure how we could work the logistics. Plus I'd like a sleeper and we would have to book 2!! Still thinking though.

We ate at Le Cellier last year for Thanksgiving and it was great. The pumpkin creme brulee is awesome! We'll be at Ohana this year for turkey day.

DisneyBarlans - what was the menu like for Thanksgiving? Regualr plus holiday food? I did that b/c my DH might want a steak but my son and I will like trad. holiday fare. Well my son will wnat a cheeseburger but since he can't read he'll get turkey.

They do have the regular menu and then a holiday meal if you want it. We thought we would all want the turkey meal, but when we got there we changed our minds and got steak, except for DS12. He got the turkey meal-I think it comes with turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, and maybe dressing. I tried a bite of his turkey and it was very tender. You can get any of the desserts and they also have pumpkin creme brulee.

Woo Hoo! :woohoo:

Ok, I've got my La Nouba tickets and my park tickets came yesterday from Undercover Tourist! I am sooooo ready. Now I just need to save money to pay for the dining plan and souveniers and I'm set. It's getting closer gang!

We are getting closer!!!

The kids and I are taking a trip to Florida for a short vacation in August. We are going to Disney Vero Beach for a few days, and then two nights at Port Orleans Riverside. We aren't going to any parks though.

Also... my SW airline tickets ended up being $290 per person. When I priced other airlines, Delta was $343 and AA was $486 so I guess SW wasn't too bad compared to other airlines.

How are you getting the dinig plan without buying a ackage (room, tickets and meal plan) through Disney?

Not much planning going on in my house lately. I did price airfare just to see how much it would be if we did fly. It was almost 1300.00 for the 5 of us. So we decided unless we get an awesome Ding fare, we are driving. That will save us 1000.00 if we use our van. But we have a car on hold to rent then entire week with unlimited miles and it will cost us 300.00. But it would save us half the gas our van would use. So if we rent a car it will cost about 600.00 to drive ( thats including breakfast and lunch as well as gas), if we use our van it will cost us about about 400.00 to drive (including gas, breakfast and lunch), and flying would cost 1300.00. the reason we don't want to drive our van is its not got air conditioning. But if we get it fixed before going we will just drive it.

Wow how will you pull this off? My son would be looking for the castle after he saw the signs.

I actually don't know how I am going to do this...LOL

My older boys know we are going in November for our real vacation with my husband and other family, so they understand. My twins are a different story. I have been telling them this trip is to go to the beach and swim at the pool.

We will go to Downtown Disney so I am hoping that will distract them!!

:cool1:  so my Ap vouchers and my tickets to MVMCP have arrived.

Not a lot else to do on the planning front at the moment, though have been looking at getting a gift basket made up for ds for his birthday, has anyone done this before???

we have also decided we might rent a stroller from a babys best friend meaning less luggage to have to carry through the airport. works out cheaper than renting from disney plus we dont have to give it back at the end of the day!!
