I'm passing time by thinking of ways to save money. I quit smoking yesterday so that should be $140/month. I'm going to start making little crafty things to sell at work. Much as I am dying for this vacation, I'm not ready for winter again. Another thing you can do is print off a closed trip report. Spend your extra time reading those. You can pick up little things you didn't know from them.
Congratulations from me too on quitting smoking. I understand what you mean about winter. I grew up in Michigan. I live in Tennessee now. I don't ever miss Michigan weather. (well, sometimes I do like Christmas Day when there's no snow)
I am trying to save money too. I just spent $240 on a Maclaren double stroller to take to Disney. It came in already, and it is really nice. There was no way I was going to pay the price to rent a double stroller at Disney. So in the long run that saved me a lot of money.
I am giving my kids extra money for behavior, chores, etc.... to save for Disney. That way they will have money for pins and souveniers. They are funny because whenever we go to stores they check all the soda machines for change. They always find a lot. So we have our change jar too.
I also am starting to put money in tip envelopes for tipping housekeeping. We are staying in a Family Suite, and I really feel they need to be tipped every day. I want those filled up way before we go.
I also buy things that I think we will need, but usually only if I find it on sale. The other day I got the twins these Playhouse Disney Art Desks at Target. They are really cute and nice. They have 50 feet of coloring pictures, crayons and markers. They were on sale for $7.
I have a big basket of stuff I have been buying here and there. I would rather spend a little bit at a time on things we need, than spend a whole lot at once right before we go.
